I was fully expecting Jack to forgive his father in the end and I am very grateful they did not go that route. Lots of shows have the "absent parent returns and gives half an apology and is forgiven" story and it's always rubbed me the wrong way. I'm glad for once Jack did something petty and it turned out he was right and it was deserved. My heart shattered for him when the waitress told him that his father climbed out the window. He didn't deserve to have that happen.
