Dutch public broadcaster KRO decided not to show the series' sixth, seventh and eighth seasons because they were considered too violent. In general, the corporation regretted the tendency for British detective series, which they were famous for showing on Dutch TV, for becoming increasingly explicit and less humane, main character-driven and plot-driven, in the sense of drawing the viewer into the investigative process.
DCI Roisin Connor played by Victoria Smurfit joined the show in season seven. She replaced Kate Buffery who played Pat North.
Kate Buffery quit after the sixth season and the character Pat North was replaced.
DCI Connor takes leave in the season eleven episode "Conviction" and does not appear in the episode "The Box", returning in "Tracks". This was to accommodate actress Victoria Smurfit's pregnancy, as "The Box" was the first episode to be filmed.
