We've lightened up our coverage of BBC America's "Orphan Black" as it's really more sci-fi/thriller than pure horror, but since it does fit in our wheelhouse a bit, we thought we'd share the news of its renewal for another season.
From the Press Release:
BBC America has renewed highly acclaimed original series "Orphan Black" for a second season to return as part of Supernatural Saturday in 2014. The conspiracy clone thriller starring Tatiana Maslany has been re-commissioned with a 10-episode order from Temple Street Productions, ahead of its Season One finale on Saturday, June 1.
In making the announcement, Perry Simon, General Manager, Channels, BBC Worldwide America said: "Tatiana Maslany has delivered one of the year’s standout performances. We’re excited to commission a second season from the talented team of Graeme, John, and Temple Street Productions, and we can’t wait to see who Tatiana shows up as in Season Two.

Each year there are just a handful of television shows that take us by complete surprise and knock our socks off; yet because they are not usually launched on big network, it is nearly impossible to see them coming. It then becomes a heady feeling of “love at first sight” – all the more treasured because we were not simply seduced by glamorous posters or sizzling preview trailers. Instead, these are shows that were intriguing on concept and deemed worthy of a peek; and once seen, we know that we had fallen head-over-heels in love

Step right up for your chance to participate in The Hunger Games, because everybody seems to be anxious to take part in this dystopian reality show where losing equals dying.
The latest news from EW.com reveals two more people eager to become Tributes as Jacqueline Emerson and Chris Mark fill the slots for District 5. Emerson has the role of Foxface, a sly and clever girl who never says a word, while Mark steps into a character that doesn’t even get a name in Suzanne Collins’ novel.
Mark has appeared in The Mummy: Tomb of the Dragon Emporer and Unnatural History, but Emerson is cut from the same cloth as newbie Willow Shields, having only a voice role in 2004′s Father of the Pride TV series on her resume.
The Hunger Games is coming together at a fairly fast pace, with Katniss, Peete, and Gale getting big screen faces in no time at all.

Another day, another Hunger Games casting notice: Just one day after Elizabeth Banks tweeted that she will indeed play Effie Trinket in the adaptation of Suzanne Collins’ dystopian novel, Lionsgate has revealed the identity of the actors playing the Hunger Games’ District 5 tributes. Jacqueline Emerson is set for Foxface, the sly and clever tribute who never speaks a single word in the book. Like the other tributes cast in the film — with the exception of Peeta (Josh Hutcherson) and Katniss (Jennifer Lawrence) — Emerson is an unknown actress for most audiences, having only voiced a role in 2004′s Father of the Pride TV series.

Think the Cartoon Network only shows cartoons? Think again. This Sunday, the network known for airing exclusively animated fare is launching its first live-action series, "Unnatural History." Momlogic got to chat with the star of the show, Kevin G. Schmidt (from "Cheaper by the Dozen"), to find out how he got his start in acting and how he made the leap from chubby sidekick to leading man.
momlogic: Tell us about "Unnatural History." What's it all about?
Kevin G. Schmidt: It's a live-action show on a cartoon network ... go figure. It's created by Mike Werb, the guy who did "Mask," "Curious George" and "Tomb Raider." I play Henry Griffith, a kid who has lived all over the world because of his anthropologist parents. He ends up with these amazing skills. They send me to live with my uncle in Washington, D.C., and I spend my time unraveling mysteries at the national museum,...

Cartoon Network has picked up its first two original scripted live-action series: "Tower Prep" and "Unnatural History."
The cable network has ordered 13 episodes of each hourlong show, with production slated to begin in January.
Cartoon Network's transition from all-animated fare to a new emphasis on live-action series and movies was front and center during its upfront presentation in March, when "Tower Prep" (then called "Prepped") and "History" were announced as the network's first live-action scripted pilots.
"These new series will offer our viewers a type of action-packed event entertainment not found anywhere else," said Rob Sorcher, chief content officer at Cartoon.
Action thriller "Tower Prep" centers on a rebellious teen (Drew Van Acker) who is trapped at a mysterious prep school for students with "unique potential." Paul Dini is the writer-executive producer on the project from Cartoon Network Studios and Dolphin Entertainment.
