Oh my gosh, I laughed so hard when I read Crachels-59225 post, because I came searching for comments about the music in this film. Seriously, I typed the name of the movie and "worst songs ever" in my Google search. The songs are beyond cringe. The acting is bad too. Like crashels-59225, I created this account just to share this. That's how bad the songs are! I felt compelled to warn you. Lol! I'm surprised the lead took this role. I've seen her in other roles where I thought she did a good job. She hasn't had all the botox, fillers, which is a good thing, but it stands out because we are so used to seeing zero wrinkles on women in Hollywood.
Created an account just so I could give this a horrible rating and save the next person the pain of watching this. I LOVE cheesy and predictable hallmark movies and thought that's what I was getting when i turned this on but the acting was truly so awful it made Hallmark movies seem like Oscar winners. It was so bad it seemed like they were actually trying to act poorly and the chemistry was zero. I had to turn it off because I felt such horrible secondhand embarrassment for the actors. The most cringe thing you will ever see - I've seen the actors in other stuff so I know they're capable but whatever happened when this movie was created was truly horrific.
Seen the same storyline a dozen times before, nothing new. Also, the main lead is too smiley and cheerful for someone with a broken heart. Downright annoying. Actually, everyone is smiling all the time. Everything seems fake and nothing seems real. Loved the clothes, though. Hope to see more of the main lead's friend, who is a really fit lady for her age, and does a decent job of delivering even the cringeworthy dialogues.
I created an IMDb account just to write this review...it was that bad. The acting is terrible, despite having two well known actresses. The cinematography was awful, all the beyond cheesy slow mo's were embarrassing to watch. The script isn't great. But probably the worst thing is the music. The most awful, cringy music I've ever heard in a movie. Sorry but it's true. I could not stop watching because it was like watching a train wreck. The two stars are for the beautiful scenery of wherever they filmed this. Perhaps they spent the majority of the movie budget on location instead of everything else. I love cheesy, predictable Hallmark movies but oh my gosh this was so terrible!
I genuinely have secondhand embarrassment for everyone involved in A Week in Paradise. The screenwriters, the actors, the actresses, and especially whoever thought it was a great idea to use songs that even your grandma would throw a fit over. I can't even begin to explain the soul-crushing disappointment of wasting 100 minutes of my life on this cinematic dumpster fire. Even my 80-year-old mother, who normally thrives on trashy Hallmark movies, told me to change it. Yes, that bad. Please, do yourself a favor and save your sanity. Your time is better spent watching paint dry or picking up a mills and boon special!
