Lindsay Lohan was fetch long before fetch was a thing. So, it should come as no surprise that Paramount paid the actor handsomely to cameo in the new “Mean Girls.”
Sources say Lohan, who became one of young Hollywood’s biggest stars after starring in the 2004 film of the same name, pulled down about $500,000 for a half a day of work in the latest incarnation, a musical that stars a new clique of Plastics led by Angourie Rice and Reneé Rapp. Paramount declined comment. A rep for Lohan declined a request for comment.
Lohan’s surprise entrance in the new film, written by Tina Fey, drew thunderous applause at the New York premiere on Jan. 8. In her scene, Lohan returns to the math competition that served as the denouement of the original, and offers a full-circle moment for the “Mean Girls” franchise, which also spawned a Broadway musical. There are many actors whose public image will forever be defined by one iconic role. Al Pacino and Michael Corleone. Daniel Radcliffe and Harry Potter. Zac Efron and Troy Bolton.
To millions of millennials and zoomers, Zachary David Alexander Efron will forever be associated with his role as Troy in Disney’s “High School Musical” trilogy of TV films. A cultural phenomenon that remains a beloved nostalgic favorite today, the franchise made Efron a teen idol at 18, and “The Iron Claw” star’s performance as romantic lead Troy forever defined his public image moving forward: an impossibly earnest sweetheart jock, the type of high school heartthrob that could only exist in a Disney version of reality.
A straight to TV movie musical for tweens isn’t the most prestigious way to begin your career, but Efron, for his part, has mostly spoken fondly about the experience in the years since.

Welcome to another look back at the biggest hits of 2023. Today, we’ll look through the documentaries and docu-series that picked up the most points in the Netflix top 10s throughout the year.
This list is compiled with data from FlixPatrol, which tracks the daily top 10s in over 90 countries globally. Donna D’Errico, known for her role in Baywatch, struck a sultry pose in response to the “hater women” who allegedly reported her risqué Instagram pictures.
The 55-year-old actress shared her frustration on Instagram and stated that certain photos had to be removed to lift the shadow ban imposed on her account due to the actions of a group of women.
In the shots, D’Errico wore a lacy black bra and corset as she confidently posed on a pumpkin to embrace the Halloween spirit. The former Playboy model emphasized that there was “nothing wrong” with her sexy snaps, which had been previously taken down. Determined to reclaim her freedom of expression, D’Errico announced that she would repost the photos.
In response to the “hater women,” D’Errico encouraged them to build up other women rather than tear them down. She expressed her belief that empowering others ultimately leads to personal growth and success.

The premise of Glen A. Larson's 1978 sci-fi series "Battlestar Galactica" was high-concept and complex. It took place far from Earth, at the end of humanity's millennium-long war with a species of robots called the Cylons. The Cylons themselves were built by a long-extinct race of humanoid reptiles, and they seem poised to offer the same fate to humankind. Feeling that the writing was on the wall, a human named Count Baltar (John Colicos) betrayed humanity and sided with the Cylons, putting the robots hot on the trail of the Battlestar Galactica, a massive starship carrying most of the galaxy's last-known humans. Their goal is to find a long-lost "thirteenth tribe," a human colony that was said to have settled on a distant planet called Earth.
The assumption for viewers was that "Battlestar Galactica" was set in the distant future, but at the end of the 24th episode of its only season,...

Jason Momoa took the reins as Saturday Night Live host this week and mentioned his love of playing DC superhero Aquaman and how it has been a full-circle moment for him.
“I’m so happy to be here. I love this place. I love life. I love waking up washing my luxurious hair with a full body of shampoo,” Momoa said in his opening monologue. “And I love playing Aquaman because I love the ocean.”
Momoa continued, “Growing up, all I wanted to be was a marine biologist. Which makes sense because I’m built like a scientist.”
However, growing up in Iowa presented a problem for a young, Hawaii-born Momoa. The actor went on to reveal that, while watching the movie In God’s Hands, which was filmed in Hawaii, he got the idea to move out there.

It's been nearly forty years, but people still remember "The A-Team." The action adventure series went on for five seasons, but stuck around in the public consciousness for much, much longer. People still remember the theme song, the cartoonish violence, the catchphrases. But although many viewers throughout the 2000s wanted a revival of the show, the TV series itself never came back.
Instead, we got a feature film in 2010 starring an updated A-Team, with the characters being veterans of the Iraq War instead of veterans of Vietnam. The film underperformed at the box office, however, and they never made a sequel. Unlike "21 Jump Street," a franchise where the later movies have now long-since overshadowed the TV show for most younger viewers, when people of all ages today think of "The A-Team," they're still almost certainly thinking of the show.
So what have the cast members been up to since...

EntertainmentAs the supporting player to Barbie’s star, Ken unwittingly becomes the locus of little girls’ expectations of and frustrations with masculinity. The ConversationAs first boyfriends go, you could do worse than Ken Carson. Introduced in 1961 by Mattel, the Ken doll was the epitome of the all-American boy next door. Clean cut, athletic and with a sharp haircut, he was the perfect counterpart to his more famous girlfriend, Barbie. Ken’s first item of clothing was a pair of red swimming trunks, indicating his sportiness and reflecting the modern American lifestyle of leisure and penchant for outdoor recreation. Created by Barbie’s inventor Ruth Handler, Ken was a boyfriend designed by women for girls. Just as Barbie was named after Handler’s daughter, so Ken was named after her son. Jason Momoa is one of the most in-demand actors in Hollywood nowadays, from starring in the DC cinematic multiverse as Aquaman to taking on the villain role in "Fast X." But the actor's career trajectory could have gone in a radically different direction had he not made a bold decision roughly a decade ago. Long before Momoa was a household name, he actually backed out of auditioning for Drax in Marvel's "Guardians of the Galaxy," with the role ultimately going to Dave Bautista. The film, as we know, became a smash hit and spawned an entire trilogy.
It seemed like a bad move at the time. Momoa was only just beginning to become a bigger name back then, his turns on "Baywatch" and "Stargate: Atlantis" having led to his role as Khal Drogo on "Game of Thrones" in 2011. That same year, however, he also starred in the "Conan the Barbarian" reboot,...

This post contains major spoilers for "Fast X."
Come what may in the future, the main series of "Fast & Furious" is coming to an end, with "Fast X" now in theaters. It's been billed from the start as a two-part finale to the Fast Saga, with "Fast & Furious 11" teed up by the film's cliffhanger ending. As for what's to come in the presumed finale (assuming it doesn't actually become a trilogy)? That remains uncertain, but for those who have seen the movie, we know a couple of things for sure. 1) Dom and the gang have unfinished business with Jason Momoa's Dante. 2) The Rock is returning as Luke Hobbs to finish his business with the franchise's new big baddie.
In a mid-credits scene attached to "Fast X," we see a masked man wandering some sort of warehouse set up by Dante — the son of Herman Reyes, the main villain...

Now that Britney is free and Pamela Anderson did Broadway, it’s time for Anna Nicole Smith’s day in court — and not the bankruptcy kind.
Six years after MeToo dragged all the musty old skeletons out of every industry’s closet, we seem to have finally arrived at the end of respectability politics for women. Gone are the days when a media outlet can report what a victim was wearing or if they were drinking. In interviews surrounding her successful sexual abuse lawsuit against Donald Trump, the writer E. Jean Carroll felt perfectly comfortable saying she once thought Trump was handsome. And a victim’s sexual history is no longer fair game — certainly not since Stormy Daniels may be the key to a potential Trump felony conviction.

Exclusive: Baywatch could be heading back to the small screen.
Deadline understands that Fremantle has been developing a reboot of the classic beach drama series and has held early talks with a number of broadcasters and streamers.
The move would bring back one of the biggest shows of the late 1980s and 1990s as the trend towards rebooting classic IP continues. There are currently no creatives attached to the reboot.
The series made international stars of the likes of David Hasselhoff and Pamela Anderson.
Created by Michael Berk, Douglas Schwartz and Gregory J. Bonann, the series followed a group of lifeguards who patrolled the beaches of LA County. Originally produced by Gannett for NBC, the show was canceled after one season.
However, the Baywatch producers bought back the rights and produced a syndicated version with All American Television with the help of financing from German distributor Beta Taurus, part of...

Following the release of her documentary and memoir, Pamela Anderson is opening up about her family’s response, working with Playboy and her previous controversial #MeToo comments.
In an Interview magazine story, published online Wednesday, the Baywatch actress defended her comments from a November 2017 interview with Megyn Kelly on the Today show, where she indicated that women need to protect themselves more, saying, “You know what you’re getting into when you go to a hotel room alone.”
“I could even take it a step further,” Anderson said in her recent interview. “My mother would tell me — and I think this is the kind of feminism I grew up with — it takes two to tango. Believe me, I’ve been in many situations where it’s like, ‘Come in here little girl, sit on the bed.’ But my mom would say, ‘If someone answers the door in a hotel robe...

In Pamela Anderson‘s new documentary, Pamela, a love story, her two sons, Brandon and Dylan Lee, are also speaking out. While the model and actress looks back on her career and personal life, including her marriage to their father, Tommy Lee, the two share their feelings about the sex tape that was created from their parents’ stolen home videos, Hulu’s Pam & Tommy series, and how they feel about their mom now as she embarks on the next phase of her story.
Throughout the film, which is now streaming on Netflix and is produced by Brandon, Anderson is seen watching a collection of old home videos with her sons at her home in Ladysmith, British Columbia. Pamela Anderson and Tommy Lee's love story is being revisited once again thanks to Anderson's new Netflix documentary, "Pamela, a Love Story." The documentary presents Anderson's view of her and Lee's relationship, including the births of their children, Dylan Jagger Lee and Brandon Thomas Lee; and the theft and leakage of their sex tape. Anderson and Lee had a whirlwind romance: the couple wed in February 1995 just four days after they met, and Anderson filed for divorce three years later. So, what went wrong?
In February 1998, Lee was arrested for spousal abuse, child abuse, and unlawful possession of a firearm according to EW. According to police reports, the Mötley Crüe drummer assaulted Anderson while she was holding their 2-month-old son, Dylan, in their Malibu home. Lee was sentenced to six months in prison after pleading no contest to felony spousal battery. Anderson filed for divorce that same February, requesting custody of Dylan and Brandon.

Actor Zachary Levi has been met with a strong reaction online after he tweeted that he agrees pharmaceutical giant Pfizer is “a real danger to the world”.
On Sunday (29 January), the 42-year-old Shazam! star responded to entrepreneur Lyndon Wood’s tweet about the company, asking: “Do you agree or not, that Pfizer is a real danger to the world?”
Levi responded simply: “Hardcore agree.”
Though neither the actor nor Wood made any reference to Pfizer’s work producing a Covid-19 vaccine, a lot of fans responded in disagreement and some warned that he was coming across as an “anti-vaxxer”.
“Imagine tweeting this when you have a new movie that’s about to come out,” one person wrote, referring to Levi’s new film Shazam! Fury of the Gods, which is set to release in March.
Another person added: “James Gunn about to reset the whole DC universe reading this tweet.

Pamela Anderson is making the rounds, giving a series of rare, in-depth interviews to promote her new memoir and Netflix Documentary, Pamela, a Love Story.
During an interview with The Times of London, the Baywatch star was quizzed about her life and career and shared the name of the one man she believes is the only person to ever treat her with “complete and utter respect.”
“Hugh Hefner,” she told the newspaper.
Elsewhere during the interview, Anderson also discussed shooting her first Playboy cover, which she said helped her grow in confidence.
“I was painfully shy, and I hated that feeling. That’s why I did it. I just didn’t want that feeling anymore,” she said of her decision to shoot with Playboy. “Doing that first photoshoot gave me this little kind of portal on what it felt like to be a sensual woman. My sexuality was mine. I took my power back.

Steve McQueen has shared his belief that his Oscar-winning film 12 Years a Slave would never have been made if Barack Obama wasn’t the president.
The filmmaker and artist directed the 2013 Best Picture winner, based on the true account of Solomon Northup, a Black man who was born free but was captured and sold into slavery in Louisiana in 1841. He was released 12 years later.
For its strong performance and its portrayal of the brutal experiences of enslaved people, the film and McQueen received widespread praise.
Lupita Nyong’o received a Best Supporting Actress Oscar for playing Patsey, an enslaved woman.
Despite 12 Years a Slave’s successes, McQueen believes that without President Obama being in office, and the specific cultural and social moment that it represented, the film would not have had received essential funding.
Speaking at the International Film Festival Rotterdam on Saturday (28 January), the Small Axe creator recalled...

BBC Breakfast viewers have accused the show of “scaremongering against” forthcoming teacher strikes.
Teachers in England and Wales are staging walkouts next month after union members voted in favour of striking over pay.
Naga Munchetty and Charlie Stayt welcomed Gráinne Hallahan, a senior analyst for Times Education Supplement, onto the series to discuss the subject.
However, viewers expressed disapproval of the angle of the segment and certain phrases used by the hosts, one of which saw Stayt describe the action as teachers “not turning up” for work.
“Not sure I like the phrase teachers not turning up from Charlie Stayt, which makes it sound casual rather than a difficult decision to go on strike,” @Stillteachers wrote.
Others questioned Munchetty’s comments, which saw her refer to the “massive disruption” striking may cause parents and children.
“The issue is it is massive disruption for parents and for children, obviously – their education being disrupted,...
