The first original of note is The Underground Railroad. This series from Barry Jenkins tells the story of one woman’s desperate bid for freedom in the Antebellum South and arrives on May 14. After that comes Solos. This intriguing anthology has one hell of a cast including Anthony Mackie, Dan Stevens, Anne Hathaway, Morgan Freeman, Helen Mirren, Constance Wu, and more. The project will premiere on May 21 and each of its seven episodes promises to be quite different.

Fathom Events to release thriller and companion piece American Boogeywoman in US cinemas.

Voltage Pictures has secured worldwide rights to the thriller American Boogeyman, based on the untold story of the intrepid detective and rookie FBI profiler who pursued serial killer Ted Bundy.

Daniel Farrands wrote and directs the project, which is currently in post and stars Chad Michael Murray, known for his roles in Warner Bros.’ House Of Wax, Lionsgate’s The Haunting In Connecticut 2: Ghosts Of Georgia, and the CW’s Riverdale, as Bundy.

Rounding out the key cast are Genre actress Lin Shaye and Holland Roden.

It looks like Esther is up to her old tricks again in the upcoming horror prequel Orphan: First Kill. Played once again by Isabelle Fuhrman, the movie was only revealed very recently, but the actress has now taken to social media to tease the bloody antics to come, as well as confirming that she is on her last week filming the movie.

Orphan: First Kill will follow Isabelle Fuhrman as Esther, who is now living under the name Leena Klammer, as she "orchestrates a brilliant escape from an Estonian psychiatric facility and travels to America by impersonating the missing daughter of a wealthy family. But Leena's new life as 'Esther' comes with an unexpected wrinkle and pits her against a mother who will protect her family at any cost."

In something of a surprise announcement, it's been revealed that we're getting a prequel to 2009's Orphan. William Brent Bell, who most recently directed Brahms: The Boy 2, has been tapped to helm Esther. It's not at all uncommon for horror movies that made money to get sequels or follow-ups, but it's certainly less common for a prequel to happen more than a decade later to a movie such as this, which makes it all the more intriguing.

According to several reports, eOne and Dark Castle are behind Esther, which is named after the lead character in Orphan, played by Isabelle Fuhrman. The script was penned by David Coggeshall, whose previous credits include The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia and Prey. He also served as a producer on Spike TV's 1000 Ways to Die. In May we will see almost 60 titles leave Netflix, but nearly 60 titles are being added. One of the big warnings I will heed is that you’ve got until May 5 to watch Skyfall, so get on that. The Netflix original Grace & Frankie makes its debut on May 8 and stars Jane Fonda, Lily Tomlin, Martin Sheen and Sam Waterston.

There really isn’t anymore praise that I can heap on Alfonso Cuaron’s outer space thrill ride that hasn’t been heaped upon it already. Upon repeat viewing what impresses more and more is the technical marvel that this film represents with Gravity being a massive leap forward in the use of virtual sets as well as animation that looks like real people.

Ok, let’s get this out of the way first. Beyond being a story about supernatural events The Haunting In Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia has Nothing to do with it’s predecessor. This film features all new characters, an all new family and an all new location.

The Mad Men actress will star in director George Ratliff's supernatural thriller, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

It centres around a woman (Jones) who returns to a town where she once experienced bizarre visions.

She uses them to get to the bottom of a mystery that stretches back further than she ever imagined.

Production will begin on the film in the summer after Jones wraps the final season of Mad Men.

The Shuddering was written by The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia scribe David Coggeshall.

Jones has also been seen in X-Men: First Class and alongside Liam Neeson in Unknown.

In Hollywood's relentless quest to come up with titles that sound spooky and menacing, word has come of a new project called The Shuddering, which just so happens to star a woman who knows all about dealing with madmen!

Mad Men's January Jones has signed on to star in the indie supernatural thriller The Shuddering, which Cargo Entertainment is shopping at the European Film Market in Berlin.

The story centers on a woman (January Jones) who revisits the town where she started to experience haunting visions, as she begins to uncover a mystery that goes farther back in time than she imagined.

George Ratliff (Joshua, Salvation Boulevard) is directing from a screenplay by David Coggeshall (The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia). Mary Jane Skalski (Win Win), Damon Lane and John Santilli are producing alongside Lawrence Mattis, whose company Circle of Confusion produces AMC's The Walking Dead. Shooting is scheduled to begin this summer, after January Jones wraps production on the final season of Mad Men.

On the big screen, January Jones starred in Unknown, X-Men: First Class and Sweetwater.

Despite the fairytale origins, miracles are in short supply in this Bradford suburb, where two drop-out mates scavenge for opportunities. But the balance between harsh realism and mythical lyricism is beautifully struck, and the two leads really are miraculous.

As October draws to a close cinemas to fill up with the boo-curious and the chill-seekers and as ’tis the season we wanted to present you with a first look at the UK poster for Lionsgate’s horror sequel, The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia.

The original film’s editor Tom Elkins directs the second film, in what is sure to become an annual tradition if the box office coffers fill to the brim, and it retains the gloomy gothic feel of the original while expanding the story to another house, and another evil in the dark.

Here’s the new poster, and the trailer follows, the film is out, of course, on Halloween.

Following the impressive success of the original low-budget horror movie, The Haunting in Connecticut, Lionsgate have returned to bring us the sequel, The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia, which is also loosely based on a true story.

Abigail Spencer (Oz the Great and Powerful, Cowboys & Aliens) takes the lead this time around as Lisa, starring alongside Chad Michael Murray, Morgana Shaw, Emily Alyn Lind, Cicely Tyson, Grant James, and Katee Sackhoff.

From the producers of The Haunting In Connecticut comes the chilling true story of the Wyrick family.

1993. The Wyrick family – Lisa, Andy and their young daughter Heidi, pack up and move from Atlanta to their own modest home in the country outside tiny Pine Mountain, Georgia. Upon moving into their new home, mother and daughter begin experiencing disturbing visions. Lisa has long struggled with strange visions, which she keeps at bay through medication, and the family hopes...

Why not just call The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia by its more obvious title: Ghosts of Georgia? Why rely on the Haunting in Connecticut name? It's like they have no faith in horror fans to seek it out on its own merits, and instead they're calling us stupid by naming it this. I'm almost offended by it. But then I see that Chad Michael Murray is in it, so my disappointment washes away. I like to refer to him as Chad Michael Dreamboat, for the record. Katee Sackhoff (whose name never fails to make me giggle) also stars in A Haunting in Connecticut 2, and she's not the kind of girl who should ever smile. That may sound weird, but when Sackhoff is in something as dour and dark as Battlestar Galactica, seeing her go for laughs on something like Big Bang Theory or play light comic relief...

First off, let's just get something out of the way. The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia never had a chance to succeed. With a paradoxical title like that, audiences are given a red flag immediately. If the producers of a movie can't decide on a better name for a film, then how could they make bigger decisions during production? Just pick a name! Was Ghosts of Georgia any more generic than The Haunting in Connecticut? The reason I sound so frustrated is because it deserves better.

The Wyrick family moves into a country house in Georgia. Their daughter, Heidi, soon begins telling her parents she talks to a man who warns they're in danger. Upon investigating, they find out their house is located on land once owned by a stationmaster of the Underground Railroad. The souls of the slaves are restless and begin haunting the family for unknown reasons.

Django Unchained Obviously the #1 title for most people this week will be the release of Quentin Tarantino's Oscar-winning film Django Unchained, but where will you buy it? Abigail Spencer, who can currently be seen as May in Oz: The Great and Powerful, has joined the Warner Bros. comedy ensemble This Is Where I Leave You.

The project is based on Jonathan Tropper's book of the same name, which follows four adult siblings who reunite for their father's funeral. Their trip home turns out to be longer than expected, when they find out their dad's dying wish is for all four of them to spend a week in the house they grew up in. Jason Bateman, Rose Byrne, Tina Fey, Kathryn Hahn, Jane Fonda, and Corey Stoll are attached to star. Abigail Spencer will play the wife of Jason Bateman's charcter, who catches her sleeping with her boss.

Shawn Levy will direct from a screenplay by Jonathan Tropper. Production is scheduled to begin this June in New York City.

The Haunting In Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia – because the paranormal are also expert analysts of the housing market and know how much cheaper Southern living is. Psh, Connecticut, who can afford those prices! No, really though, why the hell wasn’t this just called The Haunting In Georgia? A haunting implies ghosts are involved without the giant blinking lights that highlight “Ghosts” the way our title is written now, and anyway, there isn’t even a connecting plot line between the two. Having The Haunting In Connecticut left in our title is really a pointless act of marketing to make people remember the mediocre film that started this soon to be trilogy (The Haunting In New York is next) of non-interconnecting stories about apparitions and the special people who can make contact with them.

But Ok, enough ranting about silly naming, there’s a horror movie behind that name begging to be reviewed!

The Haunting in Connecticut 2: Ghosts of Georgia. Straight from the title card, this movie is a mess.

A “sister” film to the moderately successful A Haunting in Connecticut has been in the works for a while [Editor's note: Once it was a directing vehicle for Ti West who bailed out.], debuting now four years after the original.

The movie tells the story of the Wyrick family, who move to a seemingly perfect little cabin tucked away in the backwoods of Southern Georgia. We quickly discover that Andy’s wife Lisa is in touch with the spiritual world, she possesses a ‘veil’, a gift that allows to her to interact and see with the other side. It seems that this gift is shared with her sister Joyce and passed along to her daughter Heidi, and because of it, they uncover a century old secret that unearths some ghostly presence as well.

2009′s The Haunting In Connecticut was a largely forgettable horror yarn that quickly came and went, disappearing into the home video void, a fate which the series – yes, it’s a series now, with a third film already in the works – is seemingly unable to escape with this straight-to-video “sequel”, Ghosts of Georgia.

Set 6 years after the events of the first film – but having absolutely no relation to those events nor even stepping one foot in Connecticut (the entire film is set in Georgia) – this sequel concerns itself with a hapless couple, Lisa (Abigail Spencer) and Andy Wyrick (Chad Michael Murray), who move into a new home with their daughter Heidi (Emily Alyn Lind), only to soon enough find themselves being haunted by a presence rising from beneath the foundations of the home.

To be fair to first-time director Tom Elkins, he at least starts off...
