My Father's Mexican Wedding

Director Alfonso Albacete (Más que amor Frenesi, Sobrevivire, Mentiras y Gordas), directs this film without David Menkes as a collaborator, uses a real anecdote as a premise to make this crazy and hooligan ensemble comedy starring Miren Ibarguren (Supernormal) , and considered The New queen of Spanish comedy. It follows Ana (Miren Ibarguren) and Toño (Pol Monen), two Spanish siblings . Ana is a young woman fed up with love, and her brother gay Toño have just received a call from their father, who is going to marry in Mexico a woman 30 years younger than him, and whom he met on the Internet .

America's Sweetheart ó La novia de América (2023) is a comedy without prejudice that, as its director explains, uses culture shock to send messages of diversity and tolerance through humor. Dealing with two brothers who receive the surprising news that their father is marrying a woman he met online, so they travel to Mexico to attend the wedding, but what they find is not what they expected. This is a slightly funny film with entertaining events , giggles , emotion , profanities , twists and triangular love stories . The film moves in fits and starts most of which would be desirable , with more traps the viewer resists any kind, and some moments of enjoyment and others quite a few ridiculous . Humor is sometimes cheesy and gross-out with numerous naughty and picaresque situations such as sex jokes , bad taste , threesome and adult scenes . This is a special Spanish comedy from the 2000s with the usual ingredients such as wild humor topped with a little bit of original touches here and there and the tone of the film is light-hearted. . It turns out to be pleasantly fun that offers no intellectual stimulus whatsoever ; an exercise in pure amusement in which entertainment and fun are guaranteed . The characters are quite odd , grotesque and weird and the film races on at incredible speed. My feelings are extremely mixed but I must admit there are things I haven't been able to stop laughing about ; however , it also contains bad taste, dirty humor , abound sexual scenes , profanity and a social criticism and the behavior of the people of both countries: Mexico and Spain The main starring Miren Ibarguren, who gives a sympathetic acting, is joined in the entertaining cast by well-known faces such as Ginés García Millán(Félix), Pol Monen (Amar), Eduardo Casanova (Aida) or Pepa Charro (El terremoto de Alcorcón).

The film was regularly directed by Alfonso Albacecete who usually collaborates on directing duties with David Menkes. They're well experts directors and writers , being specially known for Atómica (1998), Más que amor, frenesí (1996) , Entre vivir y soñar (2004) , Mentiras y gordas (2009) , Solo Quimica (2015) ,and Sobreviviré (1999). Rating La novia de América (2023) : 4.5/10. Very mediocre comedy . Only for hardcore fans of silly Spanish comedy with crazy events .
