Long Shot: The Kevin Laue Story

A beautiful film. Opens the heart by showing Kevin Laue's struggle to become the first division one basketball player in college history. Follows Kevin in high school. But, film starts earlier with his relationship with his mentor AAU Coach, Pat McKnight. Kevin's relationship with his father, who died when he was ten is gently explored. His mother, a fixture in his life guides him through the tough years. Through success Kevin meets the President of the United States. He goes on to play at one of the top prep schools in the country, Fork Union. After a difficult year his dream is .... Don't want to spoil it. The how and where he achieves his goal will have to get you to see the film. Bravo for Kevin and the unique story-telling.

I loved this movie! Definitely two thumbs up! I saw this movie in Burbank Nov 2014 with a bunch of my friends. This uplifting documentary brought the PACKED HOUSE down as everyone followed the HIGHS and the LOWS of Kevin's inspirational journey of courage, strength, perseverance, faith, family and ultimately love!! This movie goes way beyond sports, basketball or a sports documentary. This movie will pull on every emotion from sorrow to cheers; it's funny, touching and inspirational. Overheard at the screenings of Long Shot: The Kevin Laue Story ... 'Moving', 'Lesson in Determination', 'Never Give Up on Your Dreams', 'Courageous', 'inspiring adults and children alike to never give up on a dream', 'Kevin's perseverance and work ethic are admirable' ... A true must see for everyone!
