Religion shaking hands with progress, told as if addressing young adults with no clue

Watchable TV movie covering how Christianity managed to outgrow its recent doctrinations.

Obviously aimed at reconstructing religion as a more cultural and philosophical layer of society than unquestioned myth, such productions may help upgrade people's perceptions of certain stuff.

The script gives the feeling that they may have expanded the authentic Chiara Lubich into feministic territory while at it, to make her more relevant for contemporary discussions.

If you get the feeling that something is off... Well... It may be the inevitable discord between the actual convictions of the film crew and that of Lubich... That may be just a wild guess, but not unlikely, given all these people embrace also -and even in a better fashion- totally secular concepts.

The scene where the modern-looking-nuns were mistaken for prostitutes by the Krauts was kind of a highlight within the film's mediocre entertainment value.

If you are really really into religion and theology as an existential issue, this can come short of attracting your interest as the target audience seems to be mild, culturally Christian people who would be happy with the face value of the theme.

Come to think of it, the religion that has long been crying out loud for "reform from the inside" is not Christianity, hence, such productions would be more meaningful in case they focused on the one hardest to tame. But paradoxically, people in the grasp of intolerant doctrines are already unable to build bridges of art from zealotry to progress, hence, you'd need to work out in your mind how such stories may translate to other major faiths.
