Noomi Rapace in The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest (2009)

Goofs

The Girl Who Kicked the Hornet's Nest

Edit

Continuity

It is stated that Lisbeth was born in 1981 and that her mother was 17 when that happened. But on the mother's grave it says she was born in 1957, which would make her 24 in 1981.

Factual errors

In the hospital Lisbeth's nasal cannula is on upside down. The tab always goes on the upper lip.
When Lisbeth is asked by the prosecutor when the assaults on her by Bjurman occurred, she states that the first one was on Tuesday, February 18, 2008, and the second took place Friday March 7, 2008. Now although the seventh of March did take place on a Friday. the 18th of February that year was actually a Monday, But the thing is, since Lisbeth was born in 1981, and told Bjurman at one stage that she was 24, and this is just before the two attacks, the year should have been 2005 or 2006, given that Mikael at that time was investigating the supposed murder of Harriet that occurred in 1966, and the claim was made that this was forty years ago, although that could be rounding up or down.

Revealing mistakes

When Lisbeth is in the operating room, the bullet is removed from the left side of her brain, as depicted by the frontal view X-ray that is hung on the X-ray view box, which shows the bullet on the left side of her head (viewer's right side). After her surgery, the operative side of Lisbeth's head (as demonstrated by the dressing and her shaved head) is the right side.
When Erika Berger comes into the Millennium offices and turns on her computer before finding another email threat, it is clear that her computer is already on before she reaches over to press the button because the Apple light is already on.
In the hospital scene in which Clinton is receiving haemodialysis treatment, you can clearly see that the dialysis pump of the machine is not running.
In the flashback footage from The Girl Who Played with Fire (2009) when burning Zalachenko falls out of the car, he falls next to the container and the spilled "gasoline" that splattered when Salander threw it on him and dropped the container, but it doesn't ignite, proving it isn't gasoline.

Anachronisms

When typing the story about Lisbeth, Mikael states that she is 27 years old, but in the previous movie (which takes place a couple of days before this one) she was 28.

Crew or equipment visible

When the three section members sit together in the conspirative flat for the first time, studio lights can be seen reflected in one's glasses.

Errors in geography

When Lisbeth wakes up at the hospital the doctor is wearing a shirt with the logotype of "Stockholms Landsting" i.e. the health care provider of Stockholm, although she is supposed to be located at Sahlgrenska University Hospital in Gothenburg.

Plot holes

It is not explained how Lisbeth knows that the MC-gang wants to kill Niedermann. She has not witnessed the controversy between Niedermann and the bikers.

Character error

In the discussion at St Stefans after Zalachenko has been killed, Peter Teleborian is told that it is vital that Lisbeth is convicted of shooting Zalachenko. Yet she didn't shoot him at all - neither where they were both found and taken to hospital and certainly not at the hospital; she attacked him with an axe and took his gun, but did not shoot him. The statement should have been that it is vital that Lisbeth is re-committed.
In court, Lisbeth says she was violated by Bjurman on Tuesday, February 18, 2008. In 2008, February 18 fell on a Monday.
