"Do you want me to close this?"
CulvertonSmith12 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
The scene between Dexter and Kurt is just perfect, lots of great tension as Dexter plays with him, I can't help but love it. I really appreciate how the story manages to have such a strong forward momentum while also giving absolutely vital character scenes like Harrison and Dexter going to therapy, which was incredibly insightful and engaging. The relationship between Angela and Dexter is also pretty great, her position is very sympathetic and believable, and their relationship clearly is/will be yet another casualty of Dexter's lifestyle. Who else will be harmed as a consequence of his actions? I can't wait to see, I'm loving this series more with each episode!

I was crying when the episode ended
chrisboringlife12 December 2021
... Nooo.. Don't stop let me watch more....

I haven't been locked onto the screen more then I was on this episode.

Everything was flawlessly sown together into an episode of pure bliss, anguish, excitement and thrill.

This is what I said on the first episode when there were still critics around... just wait for some more episodes, let it mature a little.

Dexter needs to be a permanent yearly recurring thing in everyone's life... Michael C. Hall.. we need you to be Dexter, so we get to ride a rollercoaster once a year in our boring life and feel completely in sync with our inner peace.

Don't wanna jinx it...
nakrugt12 December 2021
Man, this episode is so far the best one.

The conflicts getting untied keeps you on your toes at every turn. The writing is so far exceptional.

I don't wanna jinx it. I hope the show will not go down hill at any point. And hopefully a second season?

Fingers crossed.

Cuts right to the chase. Brilliant television
ramvsree12 December 2021
What I love about New Blood is the fact that the series comes as vindication for all Dexter ways who were left rather underwhelmed by the way the original series ended. With a format like a 10-episode series, the creators can just go directly for the meaty parts and cut out all fillers. As a result, what you get is an hour of intense edge-of-the-seat television.

I'm sure that by the time this series is done, Dexter will again jump up the list of all-time greats in television in many people's minds. Thank you creators, for bringing Dexter back into our lives. Every episode just keeps getting better.

Dexter is back!!
joshman_of_wingo12 December 2021
Listen I liked the fist 5 episodes. They were good. But it felt like a lot of build-up. And for a show that is only likely coming back for 10 episodes. It felt like it had to heat up more. And my goodness that is what episode 6 did. This episode was perfect. It had it all. It just felt like Dexter. The old Dexter. And I love it and can't wait for next week!!

I don't need Jim. I need Dexter Morgan
pjdickinson-2782212 December 2021
Don't we all? It's so good to see a show brought back that isn't a woke-fest written by people barely over puberty. This is an excellent episode and Dexter Morgan is coming back. I can't wait for the next installment.

this episode reminded me of the dexter i was looking for!
dhruvvarma12 December 2021
So tightly and well written i was hoping for something like this to happen we are presented with a problem and then we find a solution to the problem, but we are left at some new problem at the ending of every episode

the best episodes are are the ones which do not contain a solution to the already given problem like we were given in the last episode instead we are given a totally new, way bigger problem

Dexter is best known for getting himself out of his problems on his own conditions, and he finally does that really well in this episode

i was never excited for the upcoming episodes, but this one oh my god!!

Another flawless episode
gedikreverdi13 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
First off, some seem to dislike her but I like Debra Morgan even as Dexter's imaginary companion. Debra was a great character because she was not so politically correct so you can't see a similar character nowadays on TV and Jennifer Carpenter is really a good actor. As for this episode, the plot thickens for real. Angela finds his long lost friend's dead body in the caves. Dexter saves the podcaster girl from getting killed and he finally spots the town's apex predator after himself.

Insensitive Angela
SureCommaNot24 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I certainly couldn't date someone like Angela. Her boyfriend just shared this deep, dark truth about his wife and sister getting murdered, and not only did she fail to understand why he'd want to leave that (and his name) behind, but then she has the nerve to call him up and say she needs him to be Dexter again, knowing full-well how triggering that could be for him. Sure, we as the audience know he's no mere victim of circumstance, but she doesn't know that. Given what she was told, her behavior is incredibly insensitive.

Say you really do have someone wanting to start over, and having really good reason to do so.... Should that person really disclose everything from their past with someone they're dating? Seems completely understandable to me, that such a person wait until the relationship gets more serious. Her anger at him was unjustified. And her turning to use him (when it helps her police work) really is the last straw.

Pacing is Picking Up...But
bbevis-4795413 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
You're basically watching everyone figure out things the audience already knows or can easily predict. For me, this hurts the suspense a little bit. It's still entertaining to watch Dexter go into parental protection mode, or watch two detectives predictably stumble upon something in the cave by the end of the episode. That's the main problem for me this season. As entertaining as everything is I feel like I already know what the outcome is going to be episode by episode. For example, of course Harrison is going to hook up with with Audrey, Kurt manipulates him into abusing his anger to snap the boys arm. Without even seeing the next episodes preview Harrison will probably be jumped by the rival high-school and Kurt will manipulate him to hurt them, Dexter and Kurt are going to try and ruin each other, Detectives will start closing in on both Dexter and Kurt, Harrison and Dexter's relationship will continue to strain until the last episode. Everything is spelled out and no risks are taken. I know I'm harping a lot but it's dissappinting seeing little to no risks have been taken. Every scene you can predict what will happen and it hurts New Blood. I'm entertained by New Blood and I want to continue to see what happens next, hoping something breaks my expectations since I do love Dexter. Though, I'm not going to rate every episode a 10 and pretend this is the best Dexter has been or will ever be.

SATISFYING
LovingDexterMorgan12 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This wasn't an episode as 'impressive' as eps 4-5 were, (Talking about action, super twists or things like that.) But hearing Dexter talking about that day in the hurricane when he faked his death was just satisfying. It was like getting a new 'taste' of that finale. I've always thought for years Dexter didn't want to kill himself, so it was weird hearing that. Also, when he said Debra was the closest person in the world to him it was just the best thing ever. THIS Is a REVIVAL.

Yesss yesss the game is on !

Warning: Spoilers
Oh God i was hanging at the edge of my seat.

First of all the acting by everybody was magnificent ! I was surprised at how well actors fit to their subjective characters. Logan saying " hey man i gotta break-up playlist if you need it " & dexter doing his usual eyeroll plus you don't want me to watch my Teenage son all night long were pure magic!

This is not only better as in a part of Dexter tv show but also replaces Mindhunter . Mindhunter was portraying a btk killer , which new blood mentioned in its last episode but this episode gave me a sure chill when i saw how twisted this old hag is ! When Angela said "i don't want jim , i want Dexter Morgan" you can actually see Michael c Hall's eye shining with confidence .

You & i sport , Mano e mano & In every other way , the sound , direction , pacing & cinematography this episode had was way above par , so glad its still going strong.

I've been waiting for the old side of Dexter And in this episode he is prepared to be the classic Dexter .

Dexter's Problems with Harrison are getting worst And other issues are like nightmare to Dex such as romance .

Getting better. Spoilers ahead.
jasonp-8622712 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
I may be wrong but I don't think Kurt is going to be the "Big Bad" this season, I really think Harrison is. If Dexter(Jim) really is a sociopath and follows Harry's code, Harrison will fit said code by the end of the show. If Dexter truly has no emotion, then Harrison is the obvious villain. My thoughts, Harrison is going to kill the sheriff's daughter. Dex will kill Kurt by episode 8 because he's a red.herring.

Four more episodes so I'm sure they'll prove me wrong.

THIS is Dexter!
spiritgrave12 December 2021
Loved this episode. The way it built tension brought me back to the vibes of the original series, mixed in with that New Blood flavor with some of the best writing this. Season has brought us.

It's going to be sad when this series ends!

What an excellent episode
blndbahaden12 December 2021
Warning: Spoilers
This episode was excellent and here's why. Angela's confrontation of Dexter lying about his past was perfect because it was real. Most people were expecting Angela to find out about his past and suddenly for no reason start researching on him and find out that he is the bay harbour butcher or connect him to some kill which would make no sense at all. Then we have Dexter and Harrison's disastrous relationship which keeps on getting worse and part of it is because of Dexter feeling that Kurt is somehow replacing him as a father figure to Harrison which he is. The absolute highlight of this episode was the interaction between Dexter, Molly and Kurt in the cabin which was like seeing Dexter from the original series back in action. Then we have Iris being found which was the one scene in new blood that sent chills down my spine after seeing Angela's reaction I just felt so bad for her and then the phone call from Angela saying that she wants Dexter Morgan was really a wtf moment for me.

It just ain't that good....
sailorjjr13 December 2021
I was a HUGE fan of the original Dexter. The last season or two got a little weird, but I hung in there to the end.

I'm shocked to see all the high review numbers for this "New Blood" trash. Sorry, no matter how you slice it, this is just not good. Whenever you "re-do" something, you have to compete with the original, and this isn't even getting close.

It was a HUGE suspension of disbelief to allow for all of the times the original Dexter got away with stuff, got his famous drug, had a huge forensic lab at his disposal, had all the money in the world. I just ain't buying it now that he's in the middle of WhoVille.

Much like the disaster Soprano's movie, they should have left well enough alone.

He is back...
guinden12 December 2021
The show did not start as good as the old ones. FIrst few episodes were definitely different in theme but i have to say Ep 4-5 felt like someone is approaching and by episode 6 the old Dexter is finally back...

I hope the rest of the season will be like this.
