Episode 1
I have always found Anthony Horowitz to be rather hot and cold when it comes to television writing.
For every Foyle's War there is Crime Traveller.
There are two stories here. A mystery upon a mystery.
The main one being book editor Susan Ryeland (Lesley Manville) obtains the latest manuscript of best selling crime author Alan Conway. Only to discover that the last chapter missing.
Conway proves to be unhelpful as he is discovered dead.
He was an unlikeable man, difficult to get on with. His novels featuring detective Atticus Pünd were best sellers. This was due to be his last book.
As Susan tries to track down the lost pages. There is a mystery facing Atticus Pünd as well.
I have not doubt the two worlds will collide later on. The first episode was easy going and undemanding.
I did wonder if a certain member of the cast, you know the one who always plays villains is actually the murderer! That would hardly be a scoop.
