Jason Statham’s thriller movie collaboration with Sylvester Stallone is a streaming hit 12 years later. Stallone and Statham have shared the screen four times, playing mercenary comrades Barney and Christmas in the Expendables series.
The Expendables stars’ numerous collaborations indeed represent a union of two different movie eras. Stallone was the co-ruler of 1980s action, alongside Arnold Schwarzenegger. Statham established his own stoic action-hero persona beginning with his early Guy Ritchie films, and continuing through a string of hard-hitting vehicles, culminating with his arrival as a big-budget franchise stalwart in the Fast & Furious series.

The MonsterVerse has become one of the most reliable, slow and steady cinematic universes going in Hollywood. Tracing its roots back to Gareth Edwards' gritty, grounded, divisive hit "Godzilla" in 2014, the franchise has since expanded to five increasingly wild movies, a TV show in the form of "Monarch: Legacy of Monsters," comics books, and even video games. Now, Warner Bros. and Legendary are reuniting once again for another kaiju-filled cinematic romp coming our way in 2027.
While virtually nothing has been revealed yet in terms of plot details, the studio has confirmed that "Godzilla x Kong: Supernova" has an official release date. Given that 2024's "Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire" became the biggest movie in MonsterVerse history, that's not remotely surprising. So, what is "Supernova" going to bring to the table? Why Did Arnold Schwarzenegger Skip Terminator: Salvation? ( Photo Credit – Facebook )
Terminator is one of the most popular film franchises in the world, and an iconic part of that franchise is Arnold Schwarzenegger. He has been associated with the franchise since its inception with The Terminator (1984), in which he played the antagonist, a killer machine sent from the future to prevent resistance leader John Connor from ever existing by murdering his mother, Sarah Connor. From Terminator 2: Judgment Day onwards, he mostly switched gears to become a protector. However, he is notably absent from one film in the franchise, Terminator: Salvation.
Why Wasn’t Arnold Schwarzenegger Part Of Terminator: Salvation?
Just after the release of Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines in July 2003, Schwarzenegger announced his entry into politics by running for the office of Governor of California. He won the election and remained in office until 2011.

Despite starting as rivals in the ’80s due to their stature as some of the biggest action stars in the business, beyond the professional setting, Sylvester Stallone and Arnold Schwarzenegger didn’t bear any personal grudges. And by the time their stranglehold on the box office started to wane following the shift in the industry’s direction, they went on to become good pals and even appeared together in The Expendables.
While Schwarzenegger’s presence in the movie was limited, the following year, they both joined forces for Escape Plan, and with season 3 of Tulsa King on the horizon, hopefully, we’ll get to see more of them together.

Jason Statham is one of the most notable action film actors working today. This year, Statham was in A Working Man, where he played a construction worker who takes matters into his own hands when a young girl vanishes. As was the case with many of Statham's movies, the film was a box office success, making $98.1 million on an estimated $40 million budget. He has a busy slate of upcoming movies that includes Mutiny and Fast X: Part 2.
While he has been in his fair share of one-off movies, franchises have been a huge part of Statham's career. His most notable franchises include the Fast & Furious movies and the Expendables series, wherein he plays members of the ensemble-based films. However, Statham began his career working in standalone movies like Guy Ritchie's Snatch. Now, one of Statham's action movies from last year is getting a sequel, and the 2024 release is a streaming success.

The Thunderbolts* are now in theaters and the film is doing good. The fans and critics are satisfied and the box office numbers are solid, so there is a good chance that the movie will do great in the end and that it will be a brilliant innuendo for the upcoming Fantastic Four movie.
The film has been met with a of hype, but there were also some criticisms before the premiere. One of these “criticisms” was a potentially unfavorable comparison with The Suicide Squad, directed by James Gunn, and the action franchise The Expendables.
In a recent talk with the press, director Jake Schreier addressed this aspect and revealed how Thunderbolts* compares to these two movies.

After vanquishing Captain America: Brave New World on streaming charts, Jason Statham’s new movie has its sights set on a new target. A Working Man, the latest action collaboration between Statham and director David Ayer, is duking it out atop Prime Video’s charts with Dark Winds, which has risen to #2 with the release of its Season 3 finale. At the time of writing, A Working Man is the top purchase on digital charts, but with momentum rising for Dark Winds, it could be the first project to dethrone Jason Statham. Other notable additions to Prime Video’s digital purchase chart include Wicked, which remains a VOD hit despite beginning a Peacock streaming run weeks ago, and Sonic the Hedgehog 3, which is also available to stream on Paramount+.

The very thought of Ryan Gosling appearing in a Barbie sequel as Ken is exciting for many fans of the actor. In December, multiple reports suggested that Barbie 2 is in the early stages of development. As much as we all like to see him back as Ken, there is another franchise that the actor needs to take over now after he got the approval from the Og star.
Gosling had previously revealed that his favorite film as a child was Sylvester Stallone’s Rambo. Interestingly, Gosling’s passion for the role got Stallone’s attention, who picked him to play the potential next generation iteration of the Rambo movies. We are positive that the Drive actor would be exceptional in such an action thriller.

Living next door to an action-movie star sounds glamorous until a helicopter drops onto the paddock behind your garden wall. Residents living near the home of British hard-nut action hero Jason Statham have been made to feel they were in the middle of one of his blockbuster movies recently, and it seems they have had enough of it.
According to a report in The Sun – naturally - Statham and his glamorous partner, model, designer, and former Transformers star, Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, have been taking an unusual mode of transport recently – a twin-engine helicopter. When you think of Jason Statham, what’s the first thing that comes to mind? If it’s a fit bald dude beating the shit out of a nameless goon, good. That means we’re on the same page. Range is not Jason Statham’s forte, nor would we expect his characters to be able to spell “forte”. But the man has marked himself as maybe The action star in modern movies. And that’s good enough for us and his millions of fans. As Frank Martin said in The Transporter: Never change the deal.
Jason Statham was born on July 26th, 1967 in Shirebrook, England. A natural and gifted athlete, Statham was competing in everything from football to diving (he would later be inducted into the International Sports Hall of Fame). Then came modelling because, well, look at that jawline!
But it was the screen he was destined for.

Celebrity Big Brother UK did not go well for actor Mickey Rourke.

Jason Statham’s new movie is finally losing steam at the box office after falling out of the top five, but one of his older flicks just got an update to help ease the pain. More than 10 years before Statham teamed up with director David Ayer for A Working Man, he starred in Homefront, the 2013 conspiracy thriller following a former DEA agent who moves his family to a quiet town only to get involved with a local drug lord. There was a time when Sylvester Stallone wasn’t really a name many people knew, and now that name is quite literally one of the biggest names in Hollywood. Since then, the actor has come a long, long way and earned fame for a lot of things besides his outstanding performance as an actor cum filmmaker, including even the brilliant daughters that he has raised.
Despite being a father of three daughters, Stallone reportedly didn’t go easy on his daughters while raising them.

Instead, this refers to some voice work that he did early in his career. It seems that Statham played a minor voice role in the very first "Call of Duty" video game in 2003. "Call of Duty" was a military-based shooter game set during World War II, released on the PC, and eventually for the XBox 360, and the PlayStation 3. It was a big hit in the early 2000s, and spawned a massive franchise that is still going strong to this day. There are five games in the original World War II continuity, eight games in the "Modern Warfare" spinoff series (set in the present), seven games in the "Black Ops" spinoff,...

You may not know Joss Carter by name – yet – but chances are, you’ve seen his work. As a creature performer, stunt artist, contemporary dancer and all-round physical chameleon, Carter has moved and morphed his way through everything from The Mummy and Morbius to Don’t Hug Me I’m Scared and The Expendables 4. Now, in Miracle Media’s brand-new fairy tale horror Rumpelstiltskin, he takes centre stage – beneath layers of prosthetics, latex, and a wicked gleam in his eye – as the titular terror himself.
It’s a dream role for Carter, whose work as a physical performer draws from traditions as diverse as Japanese Butoh, black metal, immersive theatre, and extreme physical endurance. His approach to horror isn’t just about jump scares or shock factor—it’s about transformation. Visceral, disturbing, boundary-pushing transformation. In Rumpelstiltskin, that philosophy seeps through every twitch, turn, and whisper of the film’s grotesque imp,...

Mickey Rourke is no stranger to being in front of the camera, having starred in the likes of Sin City and The Wrestler, as well as blockbusters such as Iron Man 2 and The Expendables, but his current stint inside the UK's Celebrity Big Brother compound is a far cry from those scripted projects. He admitted when he entered the house that he wasn't too familiar with the concept of the famous reality TV show and had been living alone for several years, but as the days move forward, the Oscar-nominated actor is starting to open up to his fellow housemates.
During Thursday's episode of Celebrity Big Brother, Rourke candidly spoke about his battle with insomnia and the trauma that led to his struggles with the sleeping disorder. The conversation arose after his housemates clocked him waking up from 40 winks, but Rourke insisted that it was out of character for him,...

Just two days into his UK Celebrity Big Brother stint, actor Mickey Rourke is finding himself under fire for homophobic remarks aimed at housemate JoJo Siwa. The incident led to a formal warning from the show's production team. During a conversation with Siwa, who is openly queer and in a relationship with a nonbinary person, Rourke made several offensive comments. He reportedly joked that if he remained in the house for more than four days, Siwa "won't be gay anymore," and later added a disturbing remark about wanting to "tie" her up.
Later, while talking to housemate Chris Hughes (Love Island) within Siwa's earshot, he stated he was "going to vote the lesbian out real quick." When Siwa called him out for the homophobic nature of the comment, Rourke used a derogatory anti-gay slur, directing it in Siwa's direction while claiming he was referring to a cigarette (in the British...

From “The Woman King” to Madam President, Viola Davis’ growing roster of fierce commander-in-chief roles reveals a star who takes the words “leading lady” literally, no matter what skepticism audiences may show. The internet seems to have rolled its collective eyes at the idea of Davis in ’90s-style action showcase “G20,” but there’s no actor on earth who could play such a gung-ho U.S. president without some degree of blowback … since there’s no president in U.S. history who’d stand a chance against a G20 summit-disrupting psycho determined to crash the global economy. (Supply your own tariff joke here.)
Clearly reflecting the other candidate in the most recent election, Davis does a fine job of embodying Danielle Sutton, a war hero whose military training and protect-the-little-guy instincts make her an ideal foil for the ruthless Rutledge (Antony Starr). Glen Powell has Arnold Schwarzenegger’s blessing for Edgar Wright’s The Running Man film – but it was tough to make.
This November will see the release of Edgar Wright’s The Running Man. It’s a take on Stephen King’s novel of the same name that imagines a future dystopian US where violent game shows are the ‘opiate of the masses’. America’s particular favourite being The Running Man, a nightly show where hunters chase contestants across the country, killing them for the satisfaction of the viewers at home.
Stephen King’s book has already been adapted for the screen once before, with the 1987 Arnold Schwarzenegger action vehicle keeping lots of the basic plot elements but jettisoning King’s bleak tone in favour of something more bombastic. After all, ‘it was acceptable in the 80s’, as the song goes.

Before Glen Powell could take on the thrilling, high-stakes role in the 2025 remake of The Running Man, there was one key person he needed to have on his side: Arnold Schwarzenegger. As a reboot of the 1987 thriller, Powell certainly had to seek the blessing of the man who defined the role for a generation.
As the star of the original film, Schwarzenegger still casts a long shadow over the upcoming remake. To ensure the Terminator legend was on board, Powell turned to a personal connection, and it led to a conversation between the two actors.

A Working Man is not slowing down during its first full week at the box office. After falling to Snow White on Monday by a narrow margin, Jason Statham’s latest action thriller overtook Rachel Zegler’s live-action Disney adaptation on Tuesday with a $1.8 million performance, a 46% improvement from Monday. Snow White grossed $1.5 million on Tuesday. At the time of writing, Statham’s A Working Man has collected $18.6 million at the domestic box office and $16.5 million internationally for a global total of $35 million. The film will likely hit $20 million domestically and $40 million before it enters its second weekend in theaters, which is expected to propel the action vehicle past the $50 million mark at the worldwide box office.

Jason Statham’s latest action movie started strong at the box office during its first week in theaters. After grossing $15 million domestically this weekend to take the top spot at the box office from Disney’s Snow White, A Working Man kicked off this week with a $1.2 million performance on Monday, March 31. This falls behind Snow White by one small bite of an apple — the Rachel Zegler-led adaptation grossed $1.3 million — but it was enough to push Statham’s new action vehicle closer towards the $35 million mark at the global box office. A Working Man has collected $16.7 million domestically and $16.5 million internationally at the time of writing, meaning it needs only $1.7 million to reach $35 million, which it could easily do when Tuesday’s numbers come in.

In 2006, Sylvester Stallone did what he does best: rise from the ashes and re-establish himself as a star, this time with "Rocky Balboa." The mournful, reflective entry in Sly's long-running franchise was surprisingly moving and introduced a whole new generation to Stallone's acting prowess and "keep pushing forward" ethos. That's ostensibly the mantra of the Italian Stallion himself, but it also stands as a pretty good description of the actor's own career.
While you might have expected the "Rambo" star to use this revitalization of his acting career to provide fans with similar showcases of his dramatic abilities, Sly instead began churning out a string of generic direct-to-home-media actioners and doubling down on his reputation as one of the biggest '80s action stars by assembling an all-star team of similar actors with the "Expendables" films. Jason Statham is one of the most prolific action actors and the audience is once more excited about his latest release, A Working Man. The critics, however, weren't as impressed.
