I think most of us would have loved a full-length feature, but I forgive it being what it is, given the circumstances. MANY actors came together in this way to keep us entertained in a very dark time, usually for charity. I really appreciate that they did that.
It's 2024 now, and I watch this looking back on the pandemic. The jokes are nostalgic and ring true. Many of us had multi-generational Zoom meetings in 2020, and a lot of what they said regarding the pandemic are very true. In my family, my dad and stepmom were constantly checking to make sure my siblings and I were set with supplies. We did talk over each other trying to explain how Zoom worked to certain family members. We did celebrate events via Zoom. My son graduated in 2020, and my brother got married, and our whole family phoned in both events. I'm forever grateful for that.
As far as the story goes, the characters are a family again, and that's what it's about. They played family in the 90s, and there's a definite familial vibe in this special feature. It was great to see "Matty" grown up and having his own story.
It's important to remember that the purpose of this was to connect with familiar characters and raise money. Cinematography shouldn't be considered. The script is good, and the family vibe in 2020 is spot-on.

The folks who play George MacKenzie, Megan Banks, Rachel and James were phenomenal first off. Seeing George, Nina, Annie, Bryan, Matty and Franck again felt nostalgic. I wondered why it wasn't touched upon with Annie and Bryan having more kids, but no big deal. The personalities are the same and everyone still looks just the same. I for one, would love to see more actual movies with this amazing cast!
This was my movie to go to when I am sick it make me feel good.
But ever since I became a father of daughters, I cry from this movie.
It touches in all of the right places.
It make appreciate every second of my time with my daughters.
He is funny, and touching.
Even the over acting of some of the actors feeling right in.
Steve Martin is a genius and a great actor.
Kimberly Williams-Paisley is perfection.
She is the perfect daughter pretty and smart, her acting is great.
The chemistry between them is what makes this movie so good.
This is a underrated movie. It deserves so much more love.

Father of the Bride Part 3 (ish) (2020) is a Netflix special for a charity during the COVID-19 Pandemic and I had a lot of fun with this special.
Positives for Father of the Bride Part 3 (ish) (2020): It was fun watching the original cast of the 1991 remake interact with each other again even if it's a Zoom Call. I really enjoyed the additions of Alexandra Shipp, Florence Pugh, Ben Platt and Robert De Niro as they added a lot to this Netflix Special. And finally, this special achieved its goal of having fun with the Zoom Call.
Negatives for Father of the Bride Part 3 (ish) (2020): This Netflix Special doesn't do anything to reinvent the Father of the Bride franchise and that's okay. I can also see fans of the remake will be disappointed with the special because they would like to see a third movie.
Overall, Father of the Bride Part 3 (ish) (2020) gets the job done and I'm happy about that.
