Dragon Ball Daima explores the Demon Realm in all its majesty. In just 3 episodes, there’s been so much lore dumps that fans haven’t gotten used to since the Saiyan Saga. It’s already been confirmed that the Namekians and Shin’s species are from the Demon Realm. Now a lot of fans are suspecting that the Saiyan race could be from the same realm.

The Saiyans as a concept was first introduced in Dragon Ball Z‘s first arc when Goku’s brother Raditz dropped the bombshell about Goku’s true origins. In Universe 7, Saiyans are always known to be a barbaric race whose way of life is annihilating civilizations and selling planets to the highest bidder. There were righteous Saiyans in the past like Yamoshi and his team but the evil ones took over everything, leading to their own undoing.

As Halloween approaches, there's one Disney movie that, both as a film itself and its star, may well rank as the darkest film the company has ever produced!
Disney has always dabbled in dark stuff ever since the Evil Queen in Snow White and the Seven Dwarves. For a "family-friendly" company, they've dipped their toes into horror-themed storylines a lot. That was especially true in that late 1970s/early-80s period, when the company was trying to win over new fans and break out of that image.
That included darker fare like The Watcher in the Woods, The Black Hole, and Something Wicked This Way Comes. Yet one movie has to stand out as a film you cannot believe was ever made by Disney for its dark tones. As time has gone on, it's only become darker for shades the company couldn't possibly predict.
The Devil and Max Devlin.

Marvel Studios held a New York Comic-Con panel for Daredevil: Born Again earlier today, and even though the trailer that screened wasn't officially released, we did finally get an official premiere date for the long-awaited Disney+ series.
The Man Without Fear will return to our screens for a now confirmed 9-episode run on March 4, 2025.
“When we finally figured out how to do this show, it was so exciting, and to really play it the way that Charlie [Cox] and I always wanted to continue. A lot of us involved in the first iteration were really yearning for a better way, and it worked out,” said Kingpin actor Vincent D'Onofrio during the panel.
Matt Murdock actor Charlie Cox also expressed his excitement for the show, adding that he'd like to see his character's costume get the iconic "Dd" chest logo from the comics at some point.

It's been a busy year for M. Night Shyamalan. This summer, he dropped the wildly entertaining (and wildly silly) concert-set serial killer thriller "Trap," starring Josh Hartnett and Shyamalan's daughter, Saleka. The "Sixth Sense" director has several other projects in the works, but he's also been branching out as a producer, producing Ishana Shyamalan's "The Watchers" earlier this year and "Caddo Lake," co-directed by Logan George and Celine Held, this month. It's the latter film that's been climbing the streaming charts this week, with the latest viewership data from FlixPatrol listing it as the most-watched movie on HBO, home to the streaming site Max.
According to the data site, "Caddo Lake" is the most popular movie on HBO today, outpacing Gary Dauberman's long-anticipated "Salem's Lot" remake and some 2024 theatrical releases, including Will Smith and Martin Lawrence's "Bad Boys: Ride Or Die," Mark Wahlberg's inspirational stray dog flick "Arthur The King,...

Getting slapped by Dustin Hoffman might have rattled anyone else, but not Meryl Streep. Back in the day, this acting legend took a hit—literally—and still kept her cool, proving she was all in for the craft. Streep’s dedication to method acting was on another level, even when things got intense.

But here’s the kicker—it wasn’t the only time she pushed through some wild on-set moments. In another film, she went full method again, showing that when it came to delivering an unforgettable performance, nothing was going to stand in her way. Meryl Streep wasn’t just playing roles—she was living them.

After a busy August with the Season 2 premiere of “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power,” which continues throughout September with new episodes through Oct. 3, “Batman: Caped Crusader,” and more, Amazon streaming services Prime Video and Freevee will have a comparably quiet September.
Most of the action for the month will come from Prime Video’s sports options. After the Sept. 5 Kickoff Game at Arrowhead Stadium with the defending Super Bowl Champion Kansas City Chiefs going up against the Baltimore Ravens, Prime Video’s third season of Thursday Night Football begins with AFC East champs Buffalo Bills taking on the Miami Dolphins in Miami. The two supreme powers in One Piece, Haki and Devil Fruits have reigned supreme in the pirate world for almost three decades now. Eiichiro Oda has made it quite clear that there is no other power that could challenge Haki and Devil Fruit users. However, the past few arcs have mainly focused on Haki abilities and techniques.
One Piece by Eiichiro Oda | Credit: Toei Animation
Haki is a form of energy that is manifested through willpower, and the stronger the willpower, the more energy it will generate. Although initially it was deemed a rare form of ability, ever since the Straw Hat Pirates entered the New World, Haki users have significantly increased, and new forms of the mysterious ability are continuously being introduced.
While this power has proved to be even better than the power of Devil Fruits, there is one problem with Haki that has gotten worse with time.

The Bam Smack Pow comic book fighting tournament continues. The second set of fights were all about the supervillains. Unlike the superheroes bracket 9which produced some surprising results), most of the winners there made sense.
Shocking to no one, Doomsday destroyed Homelander in the voting (84%-16%), while En Sabah Nur won against Omni-Man (59%-41%). Voters believed in Black Adam more than Sentry (25%-75%). I was shocked that Thragg lost to Gorr the God Butcher (29%-71%). Loki took a major victory over Lobo (81%-19%). Sinestro took a beating against Thanos (95%-5%). Brainiac lost to Injustice Superman (24%-76%). Lastly, in the most dominant win so far, Darkseid defeated Anissa by a whopping 98%.
But how will our superhero fighters bracket go? Let's find out!

I love campy teen fodder as much as the next horror fan, but sometimes the film we buy a ticket to see is not exactly what we were given in the trailer…A testosterone-fueled movie about underground fighting might actually be a dark satire that deconstructs masculinity, like Fight Club. Quirky romantic comedies end up being soul-crushing melancholic dramas like Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Backstage at an Illinois festival last weekend, two children of pop culture legends were hashing out a set list. “We’ll do ‘The River’ and then ‘Good Morning Sun’ and then ‘Bones’ last,” says Ben Taylor, the rugged-looking son of James Taylor and Carly Simon. Luke Pisano — whose mother was Judy Belushi Pisano, the writer and artist once married to John Belushi — nods but cautions, “That’s all the time we’re going to have. The most time we have is four songs.”

Eiichiro Oda has always teased that the Straw Hat Pirates would go up against the Blackbeard Pirates before the end of the anime. The latter follows the exact opposite philosophy of the former. All the members of the Blackbeard Pirates are Devil Fruit users and are strong fighters. On the other hand, not every member of the Straw Hats can engage in deadly battles.
Apart from Monkey D. Luffy vs. Blackbeard, the fans are excited to see Roronoa Zoro vs. Shiryu of the Rain. The swordsmen have established themselves as some of the greatest. But the fandom thinks the latter would have an awakening before facing the One-Eyed Swordsman. The awakening would be similar to an ability from a rival franchise.

The recently released trailer of Uzumaki by Adult Swim has stirred a mix of excitement and concern as well. The work of Junji Ito is known for its twisted plots and deeply disturbing visuals. Previous adaptations of Junji Ito’s have disappointed the fans as they could not capture the essence of Ito’s horror. The new trailer of Uzumaki is unique and visually striking, still, it is raising questions among the fans and they are particularly worried about the number of episodes it will have.
Glimpse from the recently released trailer of Uzumaki | Adult Swim
The trailer looks promising, showing the eerie essence of Ito’s work. But will it be able to give justice to the storyline? By 4 episodes only? Questions are being raised among the fans. Uzumaki is a long story to cover, even if they have edited some of the parts, 4 episodes are still shockingly short for Uzumaki.

Technological advancements have drastically affected the working of the entertainment industry, with CGI and 3D effects being used in pretty much every live-action project, be it movies or TV series. This especially includes films from major superhero franchises, like the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which has produced some of the most intense VFX projects like the Avengers saga.

With two major sci-fi sequels debuting this week to lead the VOD and Netflix charts, the new films also inspired victory laps for the Part Ones of “Dune” and “Rebel Moon.”
“Dune: Part Two” (Warner Bros.) leads at both iTunes and Fandango, and Netflix’s original “Rebel Moon — Part Two: The Scargiver” is #1 at the streamer. iTunes packaged the 2021 “Dune: Part One” with its sequel as a $34.99 purchase, and it ranks second there. (“Dune: Part Two” alone rents for 48 hours for $24.99.) “Rebel Moon — Part One” returned at #7 on Netflix’s top 10.
Three other recent theatrical releases also transitioned to home viewing, with curiously different pricing and availability strategies. The top grosser is Neon’s “Immaculate” (approaching $16 million), but it rents for the lowest price: $9.99. “Late Night with the Devil” (IFC) is $14.99, but for that price consumers own it. “In the Land of Saints and Sinners” (Goldwyn) with Liam Neeson is a standard $19.99 rental.

The singer-songwriter had spent the past few years trying to make sense of the fractured, frighteningly personal songs she’d been writing, songs that spoke to a pain whose source she couldn’t always name. Many of them ended up on Halfsies, the stunning new record that the songwriter says is, in large part, about the “sensation of living in the scar without having any understanding of the initial wound.”
Which brings No (real name Lizzie Quinlan) to Gillian Welch.

Jonathan Swift published his popular fantasy-cum-political-satire "Gulliver's Travels" -- a.k.a. "Travels into Several Remote Nations of the World. In Four Parts. By Lemuel Gulliver, First a Surgeon, and then a Captain of Several Ships" -- in 1726. Gulliver, in traveling to faraway and bizarre lands, finds several countries and kingdoms whose entire societies are focused on trivial matters, often to the point of ruination. In Lilliput, the citizens are six-inch-tall royals, and the country has split into factions over which side of the egg is more appropriate for cracking. Gulliver also visits the giant country of Brobdingnag, the floating island of Laputa, and several other fantastical places. To this day, Swift's novel is a provocative and pointed read, poking fun at governmental idiocy in general, and foolish obsessives in particular.
Rob Letterman's 2010 film adaptation of "Gulliver's Travels" is ... not provocative. In fact, it's downright dumb. The 2010 film...

With a title like Nightmare on 34th Street, I was initially hoping for a horror take on the classic Christmas story Miracle on 34th Street but I soon realised this wasn’t the case as this started shaping up as a horror anthology. But that’s okay. A horror anthology with some loose connections on that story could be pretty good too. But this wasn’t the case either. They’ve just chucked that kind of Christmas-sounding title on this Christmas horror anthology.
After the initial disappointment, I was ready to enjoy the movie though. Horror anthologies are a subgenre I generally enjoy but Nightmare on 34th Street is, at best, a mixed bag.
Initially, what turned out to be my favourite segment I didn’t actually like at first because...

The Devil on Trial Movie Review Rating:
Star Cast: David Glatzel, Debbie Glatzel, Carlo Adamo, Hannah Mae Beatty
Director: Christopher Holt
Original Language: English
Genre: Crime, Documentary, Horror
The Devil on Trial Movie Review Out! (Picture Credit: IMDb)
What’s Good: The documentary illuminates the nuances of the “Devil Made Me Do It” case by offering a comprehensive exploration, featuring diverse viewpoints from pivotal figures such as Johnson, his family, and legal representatives. Through a meticulous depiction of events, the film provides valuable insights into the intricacies of the trial.
What’s Bad: While the documentary attempts to present a credible account, it falls short of maintaining journalistic integrity. The authenticity of the evidence, particularly the processed photographs and enhanced audio recordings, is questionable. The film leans heavily on horror tropes and sensationalism, prioritizing shock value over intellectual engagement and nuanced exploration of the case.

It’s a deceptively big month on Prime Video in September! To kick things off, The Wheel of Time will be back for a second season on the service, while a live-action The Boys spinoff series called Gen V will be capping off the original series content later in the month.
But there are also some interesting new projects lined up between those two biggies. On September 15, Jenna Coleman and Oliver Jackson-Cohen star in what is sure to be a delicious tale of revenge. Wilderness, based on B.E. Jones’ novel of the same name, stars Coleman as a heartbroken wife who discovers her husband has been cheating on her after she gives up her whole life to move over to America with him and support his career.

If there’s one sin in criticism that many writers––myself included––fall victim to at one point or another, it’s assessing a film’s narrative by comparing it to the one they wish they saw. Our Father, The Devil, the directorial debut of Cameroonian filmmaker Ellie Foumbi, is the kind of intriguing but flawed effort that may leave some viewers wishing to sand down its rougher edges, especially as its initial slow-burning character study transforms into a moodier, altogether more conventional kidnapping thriller. A surprise nominee for Best Feature at last year’s Indie Spirit Awards, not least because it remained almost entirely under the radar within the festival circuit, it is an effective calling card for Foumbi, showcasing a talented new filmmaker equally at home making a restrained drama as she is a splashy, violent genre effort.

The Boogeyman, directed by Rob Savage (Host) with a screenplay by Scott Beck & Bryan Woods (A Quiet Place, 65) and Mark Heyman (Black Swan), draws from Stephen King‘s 1973 short story of the same title.
Stephen King’s short takes place in a psychiatrist’s office and sees Dr. Harper engaged with patient Lester Billings in a haunting session that unpacks the mysterious deaths of Lester’s three children. Feature film The Boogeyman uses the short story as the inciting event that brings the malevolent entity that plagued Billings’ home into Dr. Harper’s.
In the film, Chris Messina (Birds of Prey, Devil) assumes the role of Dr. Will Harper, a psychiatrist struggling to help his family through their collective grief, when Lester Billings (David Dastmalchian) arrives at his home office for aid. This pivotal introductory scene establishes Will Harper, the lore, and its ties to King’s source material.

A perfect way to plan a trip to Thailand — the country where Mike White plans to film season three of The White Lotus — is to combine beachy adventures (such as Jason Statham and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley once had at the Amanpuri resort on Phuket) with a journey to the mountainous north and a stint in the epicurean capital of Bangkok.
“One of the absolute highlights of my tour around the globe with Peacock’s travel docuseries Rainn Wilson and the Geography of Bliss were some epic adventures in Thailand, the jewel of Southeast Asia,” Rainn Wilson tells THR. “This peaceful culture made up of so many united tribes has at its center the concept of sanuk, a spiritual/cultural concept of finding a loving, fun-filled pleasure in whatever you are doing.”
For sand and surf there are countless possibilities in a country with seemingly infinite coast, not to mention many islands.

After two installments that served as prequels to the Patrick Wilson/Rose Bryne haunted house chillers, “Insidious: The Red Door” takes the underdog horror franchise back to the present.
It’s been 10 years (in real-time and movie time) since the events of “Insidious: Chapter Two,” and the college-aged Dalton (Ty Simpkins) must help his father (Patrick Wilson) return to the “Further” to put an end to their supernatural perils once and for all.
Wilson makes his directorial debut with the horror feature. It’s the first of the franchise since “Insidious: The Final Key” earned $67 million domestically and $167 million worldwide on a $10 million budget in 2018. Scott Teems wrote the script based on a story by franchise co-creator Leigh Whannell.

Louis Leterrier will return to direct the next installment in the “Fast & Furious” finale. The film will serve as a companion to the highly anticipated “Fast X,” Universal Pictures announced on Wednesday.
Leterrier, best known for directing “The Incredible Hulk” and “Transporter” films, replaced Justin Lin during production on “Fast X.”
“Louis joined the ‘Fast & Furious’ team seamlessly, with an innate understanding of the franchise that is stronger than ever after two decades. Under his direction, ‘Fast X’ is a high intensity thriller with all the spectacular action, emotion, and twists that the fans have come to expect – and then some,” Universal Pictures president Peter Cramer said in a statement. “We are thrilled that he will continue to work his magic in the director’s chair.”

Animal rights organization PETA has criticized Prime Video‘s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power after a horse died on the set of the fantasy television series. Amazon Studios confirmed on Sunday (March 26) morning that a horse suffered a cardiac arrest on March 21 before rehearsals. “The incident took place in the morning whilst the horse was being exercised prior to rehearsals,” an Amazon spokesperson said. “The trainer was not in costume and filming had yet to commence. Both a veterinarian and a representative of the American Humane Association were present at the time. The independent necropsy has confirmed that the horse died of cardiac failure.” According to Deadline, more than 30 horses were being used on the show that day. The animals were supplied by The Devil’s Horsemen, a family-run company that has provided horses and carriages for the film and TV industry for over 50 years, including...

Found footage is So hard to get right. For every Blair Witch Project we get a myriad of direct-to-dvd (or streaming) shaky-cam horrors that substitute actual filmmaking and crafting real scares for cheap camerawork and a multitude of jump scares. However, in recent years there have been some standouts… Death of a Vlogger, Host, and most recently Deadstream. And now comes #chadgetstheaxe.
The film sees social media influencers Spicy Steve and Chad team up with a pair of beauty tip streamers to visit the supposedly haunted Devil’s Manor, the former home to a Satanic Cult. Things don’t go well. Soon they’re forced to wonder if it’s all a prank created by other streamers, by each other, or if there is something more sinister at hand… And as the violence ramps up…...
