I had the chance of catching a screening of this and absolutely loved it. I came out of the cinema with a smile on my face, having laughed a lot for most of this witty little black comedy and being taken slightly by surprise by the ending.
It's the story of a day in the life of Sidney Turtlebaum (Sir Derek Jacobi), an old Jewish man, a day he spends with a young man named Gabriel, taking him to Shiva houses (Jewish houses in mourning) around the Golders Green neighbourhood in London. There he proves himself to be a charming old man with a few secrets.
Both leads are great, in particular Sir Derek Jacobi, who plays Sidney in a very charming way, giving him humanity and surprising us as we learn more and more about this character. At 18min, I really wanted more!
