    Needful things

A special ed teacher collapses in her classroom, and the team wants House to stay away from her as much as possible, as she is perpetually cheery and unruffled by events. Cuddy continues to have problems with the baby. Foreman finds himself in a sticky situation regarding 13's course of treatment. Cameron is put in charge in Cuddy's absence, and House tries without much luck to make Casmeron's life miserable. A lot going on, although the Foreman-13 romance is wearing thin and the Cuddy-baby deal is just plain tiresome. The episode is too soap opera-y for its own good. I did get a kick out of the teacher, however. House saves her, but wait until you see the look on his face at the end. He really cannot stand nice people.

    Weaker Episode

I found this episode wanting. The case of the special education teacher is Ok. To keep House away from her because she is too perky is a real stretch. He is mean to everyone, and I'll be honest, being the father of a special ed teacher, they are pretty much tough as nails. She is not made out of glass. The final solution was a bit much, but OK.

The subplots are what bored me. The Foreman and Thirteen romance is going to end in some disaster. He is selling out despite warnings. Cuddy and the baby is another subplot that doesn't need to be so prominent. Anyway, this is a unique series so maybe we expect too much from it.

    • Trivia
House says, "29-year-old special ed teacher coughs up blood all over Corky," referring to the TV series Life Goes On (1989-1993), which revolved around the life of Charles "Corky" Thatcher (Chris Burke), a boy with Down syndrome who mainstreamed into regular life.
    • Goofs
During the operation in which the patient Sarah has her skull opened in order for the surgical team access to her brain, the camera regularly closes up on Sarah's face. During these angles, its blatantly clear the fake brain and "top of the head" are much too high to look even remotely realistic, rising at least several inches too high.
    • Quotes

Dr. Lawrence Kutner: [while giving a blood test to Sarah] I'm impressed. You didn't even flinch.

Sarah: I just went to my happy place.

Dr. Remy 'Thirteen' Hadley: We cannot let House anywhere near this woman.
