Masters of the Universe: Amazon Unveils First Look at New Live-Action He-Man
Image
Nicholas Galitzine has the Power! Amazon MGM Studios has released the first look at the actor in character as He-Man for the live-action Masters of the Universe reboot.

The image was shared on the studio's official X account alongside the caption, "Eternia is in good hands. Here's your first look at Nicholas Galitzine as He-Man with the Sword of Power in the upcoming film." Unfortunately for fans, the image doesn't offer a full-body shot of Galitzine in costume as He-Man. Instead, the image is a close-up of his hands and upper body, with the Sword of Power taking up most of the shot. However, based on what is shown, the reboot's He-Man looks extremely faithful to the original animated version. Check out the image below.

One Piece Theory is Eiichiro Oda’s Darkest, Dirtiest Secret: Shanks Wanted Ace to Eat the Gum Gum Fruit, Not Luffy
Image
In every corner of One Piece, there lies a mystery. Eiichiro Oda created his magnum opus in such a way that the fans get lost in the mysteries. He also reveals them when the time is right. But there are still a few mysteries that often make the fans question the entire plot. One of those questions is whether Red Haired Shanks stole the Gomu Gomu no Mi for Monkey D. Luffy or if there was another pirate destined to become Sun God Nika.

While it seems a mind-boggling question, several theories believe that Gol D. Roger’s son, Portgas D. Ace, was supposed to eat the Gomu Gomu no Mi. But thanks to Eiichiro Oda, Monkey D. Luffy came out of nowhere to consume the fruit. Unknowingly, it was JoyBoy’s Devil Fruit, Hito Hito no Mi, Model: Nika.

Zac Efrons Popular New Netflix Movie Continues A Disappointing 17-Year Trend After His 92% Rt Rom-Com
Image
Efron's rom-com track record has been disappointing since 2007's "Hairspray," only musical-based rom-coms have been successful. "A Family Affair" joins Efron's critical failures due to a lack of focus and script issues. Efron's struggle in romantic comedies may stem from weak scripts and changing expectations in a resurging genre.

Although Zac Efron's new Netflix comedy, A Family Affair, entered the Top 10 chart on Netflix, it didn't break a disappointing 17-year-old trend for the actor. Headlined by Efron, the film boasts an impressive cast and a compelling premise. Efron plays a movie star who begins a relationship with his assistant's mom, played by Nicole Kidman. The relationship goes through the standard rom-com beats of older woman/younger man romances: disapproving adult children, miscommunication about age, and the woman realizing she deserves happiness.

Efron's role A Family Affair follows a string of noteworthy films the actor has been involved with as of late.

Why The Eras Tour Is Called "Taylor's Version" On Disney+ & How It's Different
Image
Taylor Swift's documentary will be called Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour (Taylor's Version) when it streams on Disney+. The alteration to the movie's title is a reference to Taylor Swift's re-recordings of her old albums. The streaming version will include unreleased performances not seen in theaters.

Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour's title change when it arrives on streaming may lead to some confusion. It has already become the highest-grossing tour of all time, earning more than $1 billion. The movie was released in theaters on October 13, 2023, and became a box office smash, earning $261.7 million worldwide and similarly became the highest-grossing concert movie of all time, surpassing 2011's Justin Bieber: Never Say Never.

Stop-Motion Rudolph Recreated As A Raptor Is Unhinged Christmas Fun
Image
A stop-motion recreation of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer turns the classic character into a raptor, and it is unhinged Christmas fun. The fictional reindeer, originally created by Robert L. May in 1939, has become one of the most recognizable figures of the holiday season. With his own song and a number of movies and television specials, most notably 1964's Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, his story is well-known, especially among children. Gifted with a bright red nose, which he uses to lead Santa Claus' sleigh, the tale of Rudolph is also applicable to its audience, celebrating one's uniqueness, though criticism in recent years has questioned the value of its lessons.

Now, one Twitter account, But With Raptors, has put a twist on the story of Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer, imagining the character as a dinosaur. Brought to life in a style similar to the 1964 stop-motion special depicting Rudolph and others, the two clips feature a small,...

One Piece Film Red Features An Incredible Team-Up 23 Years In The Making
Image
This post contains spoilers for "One Piece Film Red."

"One Piece Film Red" is filled with explosive and mind-bending moments that not only features stunning animation and fun world-building but also rewards viewers who have watched or read the series from the beginning. Eiichiro Oda himself said that "One Piece" was nearing its end, and although he's said that several times before, the events and character interactions up to this point all seem to indicate that it may actually be true this time. That's especially the case with "One Piece Film Red," which heavily features one of the most popular characters in the series who has, throughout 1,000 plus episodes of anime, essentially only appeared three times.

I am, of course, talking about the legendary pirate Red-Haired Shanks, Captain of the Red-Haired Pirates, and the man who gave Luffy his signature straw hat, which has now become symbolic of everything "One Piece" related.

Per Starz, “Considered an immigrant, common and plain, Catherine de Medici is married into the 16th century French court as an orphaned teenager expected to bring a fortune in dowry and produce many heirs, only to discover that her husband is in love with an older woman, her dowry is unpaid and she’s unable to conceive. Yet, only with her intelligence and determination, she manages to keep her marriage alive and masters the bloodsport that is the monarchy better than anyone else, ruling France for 50 years.”

With 100% occupancy, halls now await big releases for big bucks
Image
Cinema halls have received the green signal to operate with 100 per cent occupancy. It is positive news for the theatre owners, but not so for the box office just yet.

Union Minister Prakash Javadekar on Sunday allowed theatres to be operate with full capacity from February 1, except in containment zones, while adhering to health safety protocols. However, despite the call, the film trade could be months away from good business. Without big releases and a psychological block over Covid still looming in the minds of many, the audience is not interested in returning to theatres right away, irrespective of whether occupancy rules allow 50 or 100 per cent.

"It was long awaited. After the central government, we await go ahead by the state government. But it is a big breather for the exhibition industry. Now, we hope that the state governments are also proactive in giving us the permission," trade expert Girish Johar said.

The Masque of the Red Death: Roger Corman Talks Pandemics and Restoration
Image
During the 2020 lockdowns and ongoing Covid-19 pandemic, people at home sought isolated comfort. News reports continued to count the number of dead while people in charge downplayed its seriousness or offered dubious advice on dealing with the disease. It certainly didn’t interrupt many golf games. As workers were furloughed from jobs, they binged. One of the movies at the top of the playlist was The Masque of the Red Death, Roger Corman’s 1964 low budget masterpiece.

It told the tale of a wealthy medieval prince in a country decimated by an epidemic. The satanic overlord, played by the legendary actor and horror icon Vincent Price, locks his gates to his god-fearing dominions while he and his friends party like it’s 1999.

Edgar Allan Poe’s “The Masque of the Red Death” is about 2,300 words. Corman’s adaptation, which has been fully restored and can now be seen in its lush,...

Win The Masque of the Red Death on Blu-ray
Image
To mark the release of the restoration of Roger Corman’s The Masque of the Red Death on 25th January, we’ve been given 3 copies to give away on Blu-ray.

A stunning new 4K restoration from The Film Foundation and The Academy of Roger Corman’s 1964 classic The Masque Of The Red Death. This is the first ever fully uncut, extended version of the film to be available. Vincent Price stars as evil Prince Prospero who sells his soul to the devil and then enjoys the latter’s patronage by living the most decadent and lavish lifestyle he can manage. He derides even more pleasure from the perverse satisfaction he takes in seeing his impoverished subjects fall victim to a painful and devastating plague that is sweeping the land.

Kevin Feige Confirms Deadpool 3 Will Not Film This Year
Almost fourteen months after Ryan Reynolds posted an image on social media confirming he’d held talks with Marvel Studios over Deadpool 3, Kevin Feige has finally made his first public comments on the hotly anticipated superhero blockbuster.

Up until now, the company’s Chief Creative Officer and architect of the cinematic universe has remained silent on the Merc with a Mouth’s impending return, leading to much speculation about his thoughts on Fox’s foul-mouthed, R-rated franchise bleeding into the MCU. And luckily, the news is almost entirely good.

We say almost, because Feige has confirmed that Deadpool 3 will be R-rated and act as official MCU canon, but filming isn’t going to start until 2022 at the earliest. While that’s got to be disheartening for the millions of fans patiently waiting for some concrete updates, it doesn’t come as much of a surprise.

After all, Reynolds...
