Martin Compston who plays John O'Hare was actually a professional footballer in Scotland, prior to getting into acting. He made two first-team appearances in the 2001-02 season for Greenock Morton in the Scottish Second Division. In both matches he appeared as a substitute and they lost 4-0, to both Alloa Athletic and Queen of the South.
