    More Shawn...less Jules

LOVE LOVE LOVE the soap opera and everything around it. So much fun. The Juliet story is weak weak weak...and the whole chief Vick being a hard ass is awful awful awful.

So...anything with Shawn, brings the episode up...but the non Shawn stuff just brings it down. I won't let the badness take away from the goodness.

I find myself repeating a few things from this episode... "....you translate for me"

    something something de claros.

    Yes. Is my sister.

    No. This person right here.

    Yes. Is my sister.

    Mui Bueno!

While the entire series is quite enjoyable, this particular episode of 'Psych' is especially funny, clever, and entertaining. Using the murder of a star on a hit Spanish soap opera as the main story, the episode mixes multiple comedic elements: bad acting, high school Spanish, over-the-top soap opera clichés, and colorful characters.

The episode felt very much like a play, in much the same way that "Soap Dish" was done. If you buy episodes (for example, from Apple iTunes or Amazon Unbox), then this is definitely a keeper.

I even loved how they cross-promoted the episode on the sister network to USA, Telemundo. That, in itself, is hilarious.

    Excelente!

The previous SJW review made me want to jump out of the screen and puke. I have Mexicans in my family, respect the culture, and literally almost peed in my pants while watching this insanely clever episode and phenomenal comedy acting by the lead. If you can't take a joke or be offended, don't experience art. Enough said, this episode is a gem among a lot of diamonds. Kudos, Psych!

    • Trivia
Shawn introduces Gus as "Lavender Gooms." This is the name of Dule Hill's great-aunt. Dulé Hill has mentioned that this is one of his favorite of Gus's aliases.
    • Goofs
When Gus is eating the pineapple Peking dumplings, he opens the takeout box to eat. When the camera switches to behind him, the box is closed.
    • Quotes

Henry Spencer: First off, your accent is terrible. It's disgraceful, really. You sound like that El Pollo Loco guy. And then, there you go, turning your back on Reynaldo even after he defended you when you were accused of Maria's kidnapping. Come on!

Shawn Spencer: First of all, I am *trying* to sound like the El Pollo Loco guy. And secondly, Reynaldo turned his back on me when he slept with Maria in the first place.

Henry Spencer: Oh, come on, he would have given you half the reward money. Where's your integrity? It makes you look like such a bad person!

      [pause]

Shawn Spencer: I'm Shawn. Those are things my character, Chad, did. I play him on TV. It's Shawn. Shawnie. Look into your boy's eyes.

[puts his hand on Henry's shoulder]

      Shawn Spencer: It's me, Papa.

Henry Spencer: [shakes off Shawn's hand] Don't be an idiot. I'm not one of your fans. I barely even like you.
