SHUKRANU REVIEW :-
You must have seen the trailer by now, then you must have came to know the topic of Shukranu is very sensitive. This sensitive topic sound little lusty and uncomfortable in the first hearing but when you acknowledge the deepness of it, you realise how important it is for the young generation. And when it comes to the storytelling in cinematic proportions there has to enough dose of entertainment otherwise people won't really enjoy and connect to it. Shukranu, thankfully has that perfect dose of entertainment and there is no way taking it down.
Set in Delhi/UP/Haryana, Shukranu is a comic take on the darkest phases of Indian democracy through the encounters of a would-be groom who is forcefully sterilized just days before his much-awaited marriage. The trailer itself spoils so many things of the script that there is nothing to hide or reveal. The central character Inder (Divyendu Sharma) who marries to Reema (Shweta Basu Prasad) feels awkward to reveal about his vesectomy. When things are finally going good between Inder and Reema, Inder is shattered by the news of Reema being pregnant. Inder who is living with his best friend finds a new girlfriend Aakriti played by Sheetal Thakur to forget the humiliation of his wife's pregnancy and then things turn totally chaos between these 3.
Talking about the performance in the movie, Divyendu Sharma does total justice to his character. Shweta Basu Prasad portrays a regular housewife with conviction and she also looks beautiful in local traditional attire. Exactly opposite to her, there is glamorous Sheetal Thakur who looks super hot. Aakash Dabhade as Inder's friend is hilarious and his expressions were damn funny. Rest of the cast is supporting enough and make this chaos look real.
One of the major victorious factor in Shukranu is it's screenplay which takes the storytelling on interesting level. Whether it is use of slapstick comedy or situational comedy, both works. It creates those laugh riot moments which we don't really see on digital platforms. Director Bishnu Dev Halder hits a sixer on yorker. This sensitive topic was quite risky to handle and would have been spoiled if had not been taken care of.
The sensitivity of the subject has to be uncompromised and effective and the humour level was to be kept. Guess what, Shukranu 'delivers' both the things at the end. There is a predictable twist at the end and we might love to see a sequel. Overall, Shukranu is a sensitive topic told in entertaining way and you gotta catch it on ZEE5. It's not a must watch kind of stuff but definitely fantastic one time watchable product for 18+ audience.

The movie story is quite evident by its trailer. It shows the sensitive topic of male sterilization which was done by Indira Gandhi govt during emergency to control population, the deed was for good but the method was wrong and thats what the movie shows in a comic way. The story is carried well with nice comic timing. Overall a nice entertainer. Enjoyable and worth your time.

This flick is one of many low budget incredibly well woven web of comedy and drama. From start to finish it was emotional joy ride with a hint of sentiment. Good movie which commands a rewatch at least.

Brilliant topic and idea...Movie is based upon some serious topic...I feel, to make this movie comical somehow movie makers missed the seriousness of the topic...i think makers missed the opportunity to make this movie amazing... the movie could be way way better...

I have really enjoyed this movie. Acting, storyline, costume, special effect all are very fantastic. The comic part is really awesome even the placement of the first song sung by Kailash Kher don't stop to laugh.

Wasted the potential of lead actor in the movie. Nothing new or entertaining in the movie. Disappointing from such potential actor.

This is such a miserable watch... these actors and directors need to wake up in this century and realise that gone are the days when such scripted and bundle overacted cinema used to work. They want to show the old time but their clothes and looks say otherwise. The acting is so bad, even tv serials look better. Avoid at all costs.

The period of emergency in India during 1975 brought many unusual stories. This film has one of that stories which is funny but tragic at the same time. But the film fails to deliver anything more than the story. Despite some good actors playing the character, they fail to impress due o bad script and direction.

This fiction tells the real story of 1975 emergency. Excellent performance by Divyendu Sharma and all star caste. Excellent Story and screen play. Though it says a Comic movie but I found it more serious than comic.

Guys, this is not the so called Masala movie of the so-called Star kids. I liked the movie very much. This movie is an example of both confusion dilemma in the life of a man to have been in problems like Nasbandi. Very much impressive movie.
