Jeong will star and executive produce the single-camera comedy “How Can We Help,” a workplace ensemble set in the world of politics. Jeong is set to play newly elected congressman Jimmy Choi, a local stain-removal tycoon who takes office representing the 10th District of Boston. As the logline explains, “he causes all kinds of messes for his intrepid staff—none of whom voted for him.”

“How Can We Help” is inspired by retired Sen. Barbara Boxer (D-Calif.) and her early career working in a Congressional district office. Sen. Boxer and her daughter, filmmaker Nicole Boxer, will executive produce as well.

The show is created by one-time “Friends” showrunner Adam Chase and “Royal Pains” co-creator/co-showrunner Andrew Lenchewski.

Ken Jeong is potentially returning to leading a scripted broadcast comedy for the first time in ten years with a series inspired by former California Senator Barbara Boxer.

The Masked Singer star is attached to star in How Can We Help, a single-camera workplace comedy that is in the works at Fox.

According to Variety, Novocaine's $8.7 million opening took the top spot at the box office, knocking Bong Joon Ho's Mickey 17 down to second place. Despite earning the top spot, Novocaine's opening weekend haul fell a bit short of the $10 million it was projected to make and also holds the unfortunate distinction of being one of the lowest-grossing movies to earn the number one spot in its opening weekend since the pandemic. However, box office returns are down across the board, as the latest weekend is one of the worst of 2025, with all films grossing just $52 million. However, Novocaine appears to be on track to make a decent profit, as the film cost just $18 million to make.
