Alternate versions

The UK release was cut, this film was originally shown to the BBFC in an unfinished version. The BBFC advised the distributor that the film was likely to receive an 18 classification but that the requested 15 classification could be obtained by making one change to visuals in the closing credits. The BBFC suggested that brief shots in which a man is being fellated by a woman, with clear sight of an apparent erect penis in the woman's mouth, be removed. When the finished version of the film was submitted, the shots had been removed and the film was classified 15.

In the Indian release, despite the film's "A" rating (equivalent to R in US), the shots of the erect penis and Heather Graham's nipples have been edited out.

In the Argentine version, Mr. Chow jumps out of the car with underwear. Also, the oral sex photo is blurred, as is the penis.

The German DVD and Blu-ray release feature the UK cut of the theatrical version. However, the unrated version, which is included on the Blu-ray, does not feature the cuts requested by the BBFC.

The U.S. network TV version features alternate footage of Mr. Chow jumping out of the trunk; He is now wearing underwear.

On the Warner Bros TV channel (USA/Mexico) there is a version played where Phil shout "paging Dr. Nancy" instead of "paging Dr. Faggot". The scene "not at the table Carlos" is removed. Also the doctor in the hospital says "on the corner of a map and get lost" instead of "on the corner of a map and fuck off". There are more; basically this is a highly edited version compared to the UK version.
