I have to start off by saying I somehow actually like this show even though it has two things that annoy me more than any other show I can remember. The first is Jared's stutter. It's gotten so bad I thought my tv was glitching. He doesn't have a stutter in real life so I don't get it. It gets worse every season too to the point I have to fast forward through his scenes sometimes and this is coming from a fan of Jared's. He pauses between. Every. Single. Word. Too. Try watching with CC on, it's hilarious. Every word is repeated several times or has huh or ... between words. He's just awful in this. But even worse is Stella Walker. She might be the single worst character on tv. The constant whining and thinking she knows best even though every one of her decisions is terrible. The last time I disliked a character this much was Joffrey Baratheon on Game of Thrones. The actress isn't that bad it's the way she's written. Also, another bad thing about this show is how they made Liam a helpless, needy person. What adult acts the way he does? He's just so needy and acts like weak & afraid child. I follow this show on Reddit too and Jared's stutter and how awful Stella's character is are talked about more than anything else on the show so I'm not alone. Every episode's thread on Reddit talk about how they hate Jared's stutter and how they hope Stella gets killed off. Why didn't the writers fix these things that most of the fan base complained about? They actually went the other way and doubled down bc both the stutter and Stella got worse each season. It's a big reason their ratings went down and the show got canceled. Again, somehow I still watched the show but these two things make it hard to watch.
First off, I'm a big fan of Jared's, and was looking forward to seeing him in a new show. I never watched the original Walker much, as it was a little to cheesy for my taste, but I've always loved Chuck Norris.
Anyway, this show is very different from the original. I think a remake has a right to break new ground or change itself a bit. After all, that's kind of the point of a remake. However, in this case, the whole ranger/crime-solving aspect of the show takes a total back seat to all the family drama. It's basically a soap opera. There's very little action, too.
And as much as I hate to say it, much of the criticism of Jared's acting is accurate. He's an insecure, stuttering mess most of the time, unsure of what to do, but of course his strong female partner is always there to save the day. I wish they'd portray him as strong, confident, and sure of himself.
I watched the first couple of seasons, but I just couldn't stick with it any longer. It's worth checking out, but just don't be expecting a good action show, because this definitely isn't it.

Too much on the personal issues, not enough action. This show could be so good, but right now it gets boring quick.
The show is finding its footing. It *is* more of a family melodrama than anything else, so if you go into it with that understanding, you can just sit back and enjoy the ride. Great scenery, appealing actors. I wish it had a little more grit to it, though. True grit.
I enjoyed watching the original Walker as a kid. I started watching this reboot because of Jared. It has had a couple of slow moments , but over all is a great show. Season two has done somethings I was really hoping for. I won't spoil it.
I'm hoping the show will take a more positive playful spin atleast in small moments.
I'm glad it has been renewed for a third season.
