The Family Chantel concluded in 2023, but there are still ways the network can bring it back and make it more interesting. The spin-off show first premiered in 2019, but its main premise dates back to 2015 when Chantel Everett and Pedro Jimeno debuted in 90 Day Fiancé season 4. The American woman and the Dominican man met through a mutual friend with the intention of teaching each other their respective native languages, but ended up falling in love instead. Chantel and Pedro spent some time together in the Dominican Republic, and they felt complete and decided to marry.
Chantel filed for Pedro's K-1 visa before filming 90 Day Fiancé season 4. She didn't inform her family about her intentions and misled them about the reason for Pedro's arrival in the United States. Eventually, Chantel had a discussion with her parents, Karen and Thomas Everett, about her plans to marry Pedro. Eventually, her parents gave their blessing.

Keb’ Mo’ and Old Crow Medicine Show have teamed up for the collaborative single “The Medicine Man,” which was written and recorded while the Covid pandemic spiraled in 2020.
Set to a loping groove with dashes of fiddle and banjo, “The Medicine Man” has an easygoing sound that almost conceals some sharper commentary on the crisis of the last year. Keb’ Mo’ assumes lead vocal duty here, wrestling with the physical and mental effects of the pandemic. The titular “Medicine Man,” of course, is less of a mystical, spiritual figure than...

Is Gwyneth Paltrow's relationship with acting over? It's complicated. In recent years, the 48-year-old Oscar winner, who used to star in multiple movies a year, has been "semi-retired a bit"—her words—from the job that made her famous. She has focused on her popular Goop lifestyle brand while making appearances in the final Avengers films (and Spider-Man: Homecoming...does someone want to remind her?) as well as her husband Brad Falchuk's Netflix series The Politician. In an upcoming interview on Quarantined with Bruce on SiriusXM's Radio Andy network, set to air on Friday, Dec. 11, Paltrow discussed transitioning away from acting and dealing with...

As the frontman of Old Crow Medicine, Ketch Secor builds a bridge between the traditions of old-time music and the all-encompassing sounds of modern-day Americana. His band has even woven itself into the world of contemporary country, thanks to Darius Rucker’s triple-platinum cover of “Wagon Wheel.” Even so, Secor remains an ardent fan of the old stuff, enthusiastically singing the praises of pre-wwii roots music during this week’s episode of Walking the Floor.

Old Crow Medicine Show’s Ketch Secor goes it alone in the new song “Quarantined” — but he sure would like to have some company. A lighthearted ode to be being separated from the one you love, the track finds the man-out-of-time musician suffering through two full weeks without as much as an embrace.
“I wanna hug you and hold you tight/but I gotta wait 14 nights,” Secor sings in the ragtime number, lamenting the sad truth that “one little cough can kill us all.” He even works in a reference...

Looks like Ramy might have finally found someone to help him be a better Muslim.
Hulu has released the first trailer for “Ramy” season 2, which sees the sex and self-obsessed central character turn to Mahershala Ali’s sheikh for spiritual guidance.
The Oscar and Emmy-winning Ali is a new player for season 2, and the trailer already shows him bringing a quiet power to this significant addition to the series. According to the streamer, the second season will see Ramy delving further into his spiritual journey, finding a new Muslim community and embracing a deeper commitment to his faith.
“Ramy,” created by comedian Ramy Youssef who also stars, was picked up for a 10-episode second season back in May 2019. The series follows first-generation, Egyptian-American Ramy Hassan who lives in a politically-divided New Jersey neighborhood.

During the “New Rules” segment of Friday’s episode of “Real Time,” Bill Maher waded into some contentious waters when he argued that it should be perfectly Ok to refer to coronavirus as the “Chinese virus.”
Of course, the Trump administration has been trying since March to popularize the term “Chinese virus,” which critics say is racist and may have inspired racist attacks on Asian-Americans. But in Maher’s view, the term is useful for understanding where the infection originated and not only that, he argued that China bears some responsibility for its spread.
“Scientists, who are generally pretty liberal, have been naming diseases after the places they came from for a very long time,” Maher said in the segment, delivered like the rest of the episode from his house. “Zika is from the Zika Forest. Ebola from the Ebola River. Hantavirus, the Hantan River. There’s the West Nile...

In an extra long “Quarantine Minilogue” on Monday, Jimmy Kimmel took a drive and checked in to see how comedian Bill Burr is doing — from a very safe minimum distance of course.
In the bit Kimmel, who has been recording YouTube only monologues while his show (like every other show) is on a coronavirus hiatus, said he had to go grocery shopping, and noting that “there is a safe way to communicate in person, and that is from inside your car.” So it is he taped an iPad to his window so he could film and communicate with other people from inside the car, and drove over to Bill Burr’s place.
Burr joked that he’s doing great because “I hate going to Lax. I’ve been trying to get off the road for like 10 years.”

We’re still several months from the (hopefully not postponed) June release of “Wonder Woman 1984,” but star Gal Gadot put together her own personal Justice League to cheer people up during the extremely uncertain era we’re in because of the coronavirus pandemic.
“Hey guys, day 6 in self-quarantine, and I gotta say the past few days got me feeling a bit philosophical,” Gadot said in a video posted to her Instagram early Wednesday evening. “You know this virus has affected the entire world, everyone. Doesn’t matter who you are, where you’re from, we’re all in this together.”
Gadot then said she was inspired by the viral video of an Italian man playing the John Lennon song “Imagine” on a trumpet from his balcony during the country’s extremely strict lockdown. Gadot said “there was something so powerful and pure about this video,” and then began singing the song’s first verse.

Like a lot of us, Samantha Bee is holed up in her home practicing social distancing to avoid coronavirus, but on Wednesday she became the latest late-night host to record some new content, a fun video clip in which she attempts to teach fans how to survive in isolation.
Spoiler: Don’t follow the advice.
“Beeing From Home” — posted to YouTube in lieu of a new episode of “Full Frontal With Samantha Bee,” which like every other late-night show is on hiatus — starts with Bee “just hanging out at my house fully made-up,” as she emerges from a rickety wooden shed somewhere out in the woods.

Bee jokes that she lives in the shed because “we’re not operating at Defcon s–t my pants level,’ but that she’s been preparing for the current reality for her whole life.

With all of this talk of multiverses and shared universes, whatever happened to other dimensions? Nobody ever talks about the Dreamrealm, the Chaosrealm, or Outworld anymore, ya know? Oh…you don’t? Well, I’m talking, of course, about Mortal Kombat. I’m sure you’re all eagerly awaiting that new live-action foray back into the titular deadly fighting tournament, but before that comes out, we’re getting an animated feature with quite the cast.

Everything you need to know about Rainbow Six Quarantine, including latest news, release date, trailer, and more!
Ubisoft has confirmed that they are working on a new PvE shooter based on the Rainbow Six series called Rainbow Six Quarantine.
Before you start thinking that Ubisoft would go and do something like replace Rainbow Six Siege despite their promises to continue to support the game, it doesn't appear that's the case. What little is known about Rainbow Six Quarantine seems to suggest that it's going to be a PvE-style shooter that will emphasize co-op play.
Based on what we know about Quarantine, it sounds like it's going to a 3 player co-op experience that is at least partially based on the Rainbows Six Siege Outbreak event. That means that it will dip its toes into sci-fi waters that you don't typically associate with the tactical military shooter series.

Exclusive: Netflix has taken most of the world on Spanish crime pic Eye For An Eye by [Rec] director Paco Plaza.
Multi-Goya winner Luis Tosar (Cell 211) stars in the revenge-thriller about a retirement home nurse who becomes entangled with a feared cartel boss discharged from prison and put into his care.
The seven-figure Netflix deal, cut by Film Constellation, is for the world excluding Spain, where Sony will release later this summer, and France. Canal Plus has TV rights in the latter. The pic, currently in post-production, fits well with Netflix’s voracious drive for commercially-minded Spanish-language content and the deal is likely one of the platform’s biggest acquisitions of a Spanish indie movie.
Plaza’s hit 2007 horror [Rec], co-directed with Jaume Balagueró, grossed more than $30M and became a franchise. It was remade as Quarantine, which was released in most markets by Sony. The director’s latest film...

Over the past quarter century, the Slamdance Film Festival has served as a launchpad for a number of now high profile filmmakers at the very start of their careers. Here is a baker’s dozen of some of the festival’s greatest discoveries.
Marc Forster
“Loungers”
Forster premiered his $10,000 debut in 1995 and grabbed the Audience Award, and has become one of the most versatile directors working, with other credits including “Monster’s Ball,” “Finding Neverland,” “Stay,” “The Kite Runner,” “Stranger Than Fiction,” “Quantum of Solace,” “World War Z” and “Christopher Robin.”
Rian Johnson
“Evil Demon Golfball from Hell!!!”
Johnson’s irreverent short film played the festival in 1996, launching a career that has dabbled in artistic indies and big-budget franchise blockbusters (“Star Wars: The Last Jedi”).
Greg Mottola
“The Daytrippers”
The writer-director’s 1996 feature debut was produced by Steven Soderbergh and got Mottola work on cult-classic television series “Undeclared,” “Arrested Development,...

There's no question that there will be a lot of people watching Magnum, P.I. pretty closely when it premires on the evening of Sept. 24, and more than a few of them are likely to be skeptical. Which is not really surprising when you consider how beloved the original Tom Selleck version was during its 1980 to 1988 run. And if anyone understands that particular pressure facing everyone involved, it's actor Jay Hernandez who has assumed the Thomas Magnum character from his predecessor. (Photo Credit: CBS) "It's really kind of surreal," Jay laughs during an interview at San Diego Comic-Con. "I watched an episode of the original Magnum, P.I. probably a month or two before I started shooting. It was a scene where he's in a surf skin in the bay in Hawaii, and two months later I find myself doing that very same thing. But when I was watching the original episode,...

Out today from our friends at Scream Factory comes the eagerly awaited home release of The Poughkeepsie Tapes. This film has been hovering at cult status for years, ever since its 2007 Tribeca Film Festival screening, where it was bought by MGM. We've never really been told why MGM pulled the film's theatrical release from its 2008 slate, but the cast and crew seem to think it had to deal with a disastrous screening in Austin. We may never know why the film was yanked, but finally, here it is for collectors to enjoy at home. Directed by John Erick Dowdle (Quarantine, As Above, So Below, No Escape), The Poughkeepsie Tapes centers on the home video collection of hundreds of VHS tapes left behind by a serial killer for...

Three-year production deal aims for one genre film a year.
Image Nation Abu Dhabi has struck a production deal with veteran producers Roy Lee and Steven Schneider on a slate of high-concept, modestly- budgeted English-language genre films.

We live in scary times that can often feel like lot more unsettling than any fictional horror movie, but some of the best horror movies tap into real world terrors — and that’s especially true of the highlights from the last two decades of the genre, one of the most varied in its history. From graphic depictions of gory showdowns to subtler looks at psychological dread, the best horror movies of the 21st century typically focused on a handful of people struggling to survive a dark force beyond their comprehension. Who can’t relate to that? Here are 20 of the most potent examples, ranked from top to bottom.
20. “The Descent” (2005)
Neil Marshall’s economical monster movie takes place almost exclusively within the confines of a shadowy cave and the terrible, terrible things lurking within it. After a gradual beginning in which coworkers and friends venture into a cave during their...
