Dynasties are forged in blood and steel, but it is always the wisdom and guile of strong minds that lay the foundation and hold it together. In the second episode of the second season of House of the Dragon, the foundations of the Blacks’ reign, the usurper faction of Westeros’ high seat, get shaken when emotions overpower wisdom following the heinous tragedy of the death of the prince. However, in the absence of Aemond, the assassins made the heir to the throne, Aegon II’s son Jaehaerys, their target and killed the young prince in the presence of his mother,...

Bad Vices Games is continuing their dive into the horror restaurant management sim genre with While We Wait Here, a psychological horror restaurant management game about the end of the world. The game will launch on Steam in 2024.
Previously, Bad Vices Games had tackled restaurant management with their Sweeney Todd-inspired Ravenous Devils. With While We Wait Here, you’ll be in charge of running a small diner located near a mountain range. That involves the usual taking of orders from your customers, cooking and serving the food and keeping them happy. That gets flipped when news of an impending catastrophe is broadcasted.
Strangely, your customers either seem to ignore the broadcast, or are content with the impending Apocalypse, chalking it up to payback for what they have done in their life. You can either convince your patrons to head for the shelter, or wait it out with them, offering...

Nikita alumna Lyndsy Fonseca and Carra Patterson (The Arrangement) have been cast as female leads opposite Josh Peck in Turner & Hooch, Disney+’s reboot of the classic 1989 buddy-cop comedy feature. The TV series, which has a 12-episode order, comes from Burn Notice creator Matt Nix and 20th Century Fox TV.
Additionally, Fonseca has been tapped for a season-long arc on Fox’s 9-1-1: Lone Star, playing Liv Tyler’s sister. Both series are produced by 20th TV, and she will be filming them concurrently.
Like the movie, the hourlong series centers on Scott Turner (Peck), who now is a U.S. marshal — versus the police detective played by Tom Hanks in the movie. When the ambitious, buttoned-up marshal inherits a big unruly dog, he soon realizes the pet he didn’t want may be the partner he needs.
Fonseca will play Laura, Scott’s sister and the mother of 7-year-old Matthew.

Michael Bay propagandizes for a right-wing idea of “true America,” seething with disdain for anyone who isn’t a former elite soldier turned mercenary. I’m “biast” (pro): nothing
I’m “biast” (con): not a Michael Bay fan
I have not read the source material
(what is this about? see my critic’s minifesto)
This purportedly true account of the 2012 “Battle of Benghazi” opens with American military contractors Jack Silva (John Krasinski: The Wind Rises, Monsters University), who has just arrived in town, and his old buddy Tyrone “Rone” Woods (James Badge Dale: The Walk, Parkland) bluffing their way past a roadblock by armed Libyans. It doesn’t matter what side the Libyans are on; in the chaos that erupted after Gaddafi’s death: the point is that they are Libyans — suspiciously lawless violent folk, that is, who cannot even get their own nation under control — and not Americans.

Groomed and primmed ballet dancers create arches and points which are lauded and corrected by their instructor, kept sharp by his knowledge and dedication to the craft. The bustling bright city of New York as its backdrop, the liveliness of the city is matched only by its protagonist. Introduced at the beginning is a sense of high regard and careful perception which can only be achieved by a writer who like, Tobi, understands his or her own craft to the point where it becomes not just their livelihood but their life. Move over Kevin Bacon! When it comes to working with everyone in Hollywood, Jennifer Aniston may be the actor to beat.
While Six Degrees of Kevin Bacon -- an idea that came from the actor himself when, in 1994, he told Premiere magazine that he’s worked with everybody -- has become the ultimate trivia game, it may be time to re-think who’s actually at the nexus.
Thanks in large part to Friends -- the former NBC sitcom now streaming on Netflix -- Aniston worked with a number of stars well before they were famous. And in the years since the series ended, Aniston has shared the screen with a few but key number of A-listers. But it wasn’t until she earned a 2015 Golden Globe nomination for her role in Cake that we realized she’s practically worked with everyone in Hollywood.

Today we have a trailer for the upcoming "Match" drama, starring Patrick Stewart (X-Men: Days of Future Past), Carla Gugino and Matthew Lillard. Check it out below. Plot: As a Juilliard professor is interviewed by a woman and her husband for her dissertation on the history of dance in 1960's New York, it becomes increasingly clear that there are ulterior motives to the couple's visit. The new movie is written and directed by Stephen Belber (Management) and is set to hit select theaters on January 14th, 2015. Trailer:...

While Star Trek: The Next Generation and The X-Men franchise are both greatly enjoyable enterprises, it is easy to lose sight of the fact that Patrick Stewart is a world class performer. While those giant projects allow him to get a little lost in the shuffle, it takes a smaller, more intimate movie to remind us that this actor is really quite remarkable. Thankfully, Stewart has recently been obliging us with a few such projects, and the trailer for one of them – Match – has just been released.
Written and directed by Stephen Belber, Match is the filmmaker’s second time at the helm, following 2008’s Management, starring Steve Zahn and Jennifer Aniston. Match, however, seems to owe a lot to Belber’s first screenplay – 2001’s Tape – which he adapted from his own play.
Like Tape, Match focuses on a trio of characters in an intimate setting, slowly unpicking each other’s perceived realities.

Patrick Stewart may be best known for his big franchise roles, starring as Captain Jean-Luc Picard in the Star Trek universe and playing Professor X in the X-Men movies, but every once in a while it's nice to see him step away for something smaller. Case in point, we have the first trailer for Match: The sophomore feature from writer/director Stephen Belber, best known for making the 2008 Jennifer Aniston/Steve Zahn dramedy Management, Match stars Patrick Stewart as Tobi Powell, an acclaimed choreographer and Julliard professor. He is approached by a woman (Carla Gugino) and her husband (Matthew Lillard) about doing an interview for a dissertation being written about dance in 1960s New York, and he gladly agrees. As we see unfold in the trailer, however, the couple actually has ulterior motives, and slowly the truth begins to expose itself. Match first premiered at the Tribeca Film...

Jennifer Aniston — Oscar contender? You better believe it after the tumultuous standing ovation she received at the Elgin Theatre on Monday afternoon for her potentially career-changing film Cake after the end credits had rolled. Sans makeup but for scars and other disfigurements, Aniston proved way beyond cosmetic changes that she is the real thing. She’s heartbreakingly good, alternately bitingly dramatic and funny in this story of a woman suffering with chronic pain. It is also partially to the credit of writer Patrick Tobin and director Daniel Barnz (Phoebe In Wonderland, Won’t Back Down) that Aniston’s character Claire doesn’t strike a false note throughout.
Given the right distributor (and I hear several are in the hunt) this should be Aniston’s Monster or Monster’s Ball — or even Dallas Buyers Club, which transformed Matthew McConaughey’s career last year and brought him the Best Actor Oscar. There...

Jenni Rivera died on Dec. 9, 2012 in a plane crash with six other individuals. The investigation into the cause of the fatal accident in northern Mexico has recently yielded answers as to potential causes.
Investigation Completed On Jenni Rivera Plane Crash
Part of the blame for the accident that took the Mexican singer’s life has been placed on the advanced age of the plane’s pilot, reported CNN. According to a report released last week, at 78, the pilot was too old for the license issued to him. Furthermore, the 48-year-old Learjet he was flying may not have been in top condition for the flight. When it reached cruising speed, it was shaking and flew unevenly.
The company that owned the ill-fated plane, Starwood Management, is thought to have been negligent in reporting the plane’s ability to operate, according to Mexico’s General Directorate of Civil Aeronautics. Rivera’s family,...

Exclusive: Todd Hoffman, who at ICM Partners built a strong business repping writers as well as intellectual property storehouses like The New York Times, 60 Minutes and New York magazine, has launched the management/production company Storied Media Group. Hoffman, who left ICM over the summer after a long run there, brings with him a stable of writer clients that include Emmy-winning Breaking Bad creator Vince Gilligan, Nebraska co-writer Bob Nelson, Moneyball‘s Stan Chervin, playwright-writer-director Stephen Belber (Management), Girl In Progress scribe Hiram Martinez and Ad Jeffrey Lynch. He also brings with him the above-mentioned publications as well as 60 Minutes Sports, Public Radio International, The McClatchy Company and Say Media. The idea behind the latter is to make outlets like Nyt, 60 Minutes and New York magazine’s partners in option deals that are made for content originated by the publications. I’ve always found Hoffman to be one of the smarter guys in this niche.

Next Wednesday marks the release of Rawson Marshall Thurber’s raunchy comedy, We’re The Millers, a Jason Sudeikis- and Jennifer Aniston-starring affair that aims to make international drug smuggling fun for the whole family (even if that family is a fake one, like the one in the film). It’s also another film that aims to convince America that both Sudeikis and Aniston are bonafide movie stars, a claim that we’re still not entirely sure is true (even if we do think that Sudeikis is well on his way). The problem lies with Aniston, an actress that has never been better, funnier, or more interesting than she was on the television show that made her (we’re talking about Friends here, you’ve probably heard of it). Aniston has starred in plenty of films over the course of her career – including Leprechaun, She’s the One, The Object of My Affection...

1.) We've already seen how much Ashton Kutcher looks like Steve Jobs in the upcoming biopic jOBS, which will close the Sundance Film Festival on January 26. Now, USA Today gives us our first look at Josh Gad as Jobs' Apple co-founder Steve Wozniak. I wouldn't quite say the resemblance is uncanny, but a successful biopic has never been purely dependent on casting lookalikes. Open Road Films has already picked up the film for an April release. 2.) After watching recent '80s remakes like Fright Night, Conan the Barbarian and Red Dawn set the box-office on fire (no, not really), Warner Bros. has decided now is the time to reboot Gremlins. Patrick Stewart, Carla Gugino and Matthew Lillard have joined the cast of Stephen Belber's "Match" at Tilted Windmill Productions.
Based on Belber’s 2004 Tony-nominated Broadway play of the same title, the story centers on Tobi (Stewart), a reclusive and eccentric Julliard dance instructor and choreographer.
He is visited by a Seattle couple, Lisa and Mike (Gugino and Lillard) under the pretense of being interviewed for Lisa's thesis on the New York dance movement in the sixties.
However, as the couple's true intentions are revealed, Tobi is forced to face the impact of decisions he made long ago.
Belber penned and directed 2008's Jennifer Aniston comedy "Management," and wrote the plays "Tape" and "The Laramie Project" which have been adapted into features.
David Permut, Rick Rosenthal and Matt Ratner will produce, and filming is currently underway in New York City.
