Not a dry eye in the house. So well contructed, so smart, so well researched -- these filmmakers delivered a compassionate look at a tough subject (our treatment of the Philippines during and after WWII -- did you know they fought for us?? Or that the US failed to honor our obligations to them as veterans?).
I really liked the animation portions that helped dramatize the story, the score was deeply moving, and I deeply appreciated the veterans getting a chance to tell their story.
This is the kind of documentary that provides sincere and detailed education around its subject matter, but more importantly it generates action.
