Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock to Have 'Speed' Reunion in Romance Thriller
Image
Keanu Reeves and Sandra Bullock are reuniting for a new feature film, nearly two decades after they last starred in a movie together. The duo will be back in action, but this time, they're mixing the thrill of Jan de Bont's 1994 pulse-pounding classic Speedwith a touch of romance, reigniting the chemistry they exuded on-screen throughout their (extremely) long-distance relationship in Alejandro Agresti's 2006 love story The Lake House, to star in an as-yet-untitled "propulsive" romantic thriller currently in development at Amazon MGM Studios.

The wheels are in motion on the romantic thriller, but plot details are still under wraps for now. However, the script is in safe hands with Noah Oppenheim, who wrote the 2016 historical drama Jackie and recently co-created Netflix's political thriller Zero Day, starring Robert De Niro as former U.S. president George Mullen. Oppenheim is also producing the next Reeves and Bullock team-up with Sarah Bremner via Prologue Entertainment,...

I Am Legend 2: Will Smith Has Revealed Who Black Panther Star Michael B. Jordan Won't Be Playing In The Sequel
Image
2007's I Am Legend, directed by Francis Lawrence and starring Will Smith, ended with Dr. Robert Neville using a grenade to sacrifice himself during a final confrontation with the movie's Darkseekers.

He did so to help a woman and her son reach safety, redeeming himself for the way he's hunted down and experimented on the Big Apple's infected. The DVD featured an alternate ending where Neville, realising he'd become a monster, handed over the women he'd captured before leaving the city behind.

Neville then travels to a human sanctuary while coming to terms with the fact that he was the "legend" haunting the infected beings and that they were not the mindless monsters he believed them to be. That's the ending which will be "canon" in the upcoming I Am Legend sequel.

Black Panther and Sinners star Michael B. Jordan has been attached to the movie for a while now,...

Constantine: Peter Stormare’s Disagreement With Director Over Devil’s Costume Made This Scene With Keanu Reeves So Much Better
Image
Directors know what’s best for their films and will do anything to have their vision perfectly translated onto the screen. However, sometimes, they might need a little nudge in the right direction. Take the gritty, supernatural rollercoaster of 2005, for example. Constantine will forever be remembered as that bold, mind-bending film that didn’t quite play by the rulebook. Keanu Reeves was, no doubt, brilliant in the film with his cigarette, trench coat, and devil-may-care attitude.

However, there is another actor who stole the spotlight when he came on screen – Peter Stormare. Playing the barefoot, slimy Satan who oozed tar from his feet, the actor played the role of the devil to perfection, and the costume choice really elevated the scene, if you ask us, and we only have the Peter Stormane to thank for that.

'Constantine 2': Plot, Cast, Release Date, and Everything Else We Know
Image
Constantine 2 is finally a reality as Warner Bros. announces a sequel for the DC demonologist. In September 2022, Deadline first reported that Constantine would return with Keanu Reeves reprising his role from the 2005 cult classic. The article also said that Frances Lawrence, who directed the original film, would be back to direct the sequel. Though the Dceu has seen several versions of the character over these past 20 years, none has hit the same spark that Reeves had in that first movie. Now, it seems DC wants to resurrect its universe’s most dangerous demon hunter with the same people that brought him into this world.

Constantine has been a fan favorite of the Dceu since the last time he saved us from the antichrist. The movie created a new kind of world in which angels and demons were living right beside us and going to some crazy clubs. It took...

Keanu Reeves' Constantine sequel moves forward, and it’s about time
Image
Few films have undergone a reputational resurrection quite like Constantine. When it hit theaters in 2005, critics were unimpressed, and die-hard fans of the comic book version of John Constantine were outright hostile. The A.V. Club famously wrote that "virtually anyone but Reeves would have made a better John Constantine." The film performed modestly at the box office, pulling in decent numbers overseas but not enough to justify a sequel. And yet, nearly 20 years later, here we are — Constantine 2 is officially in the works.

Keanu Reeves has been championing a return to the role for years, and now, thanks to a combination of nostalgia, cable reruns, and the ever-expanding appetite for legacy sequels, Warner Bros. has given the green light to at least a script. Reeves recently confirmed to Inverse that DC Studios has given him and director Francis Lawrence the go-ahead to "try and write a script," marking real progress after years of speculation.

American Horror Storystar and Hollywood icon Jessica Lange confirms she will not be returning to the hit anthology series.

Per Deadline, Lange shot down the possibility of returning to American Horror Story during a recent appearance at the Glasgow Film Festival for the premiere of director Jonathan Kent's feature film adaptation of playwright Eugene O'Neil's Long Day’s Journey Into Night. When asked about a potential return to the series, Lange responded with an emphatic "Oh Christ, no." Lange added, "I mean, I haven't done it for more than 10 years, 12 years, so, no, I'm not doing it." When asked if the series' upcoming thirteenth season potentially being its last had any impact on her decision, Lange replied with a simple, "No."

Interview: Keanu Reeves Talks to JoBlo about his new show Visionaries
Image
Keanu Reeves may be known as one of the nicest guys in Hollywood, he also has plenty of interests away from cinema. Founding a motorcycle company, funding a cancer research charity, touring with his band, Dogstar; there are plenty of places you can find Keanu that aren’t a film set. I was fortunate enough to talk with both Keanu and his business partner Gard Hollinger about their newest venture: Visionaries, a Roku show about interesting people making innovative art, technology, and advancements for the human race. It’s truly a fascinating look at the good that people can accomplish, with Keanu and Gard’s curiosity really shining through.

We were specifically told to not ask Any questions about anything non-Visionaries-related, so we weren’t able to get any info about Constantine 2 or a potential return to the John Wick franchise. However, Keanu did say recently that, “We’ve...

Oscar Winning Writer Akiva Goldsman Tapped to Helm Famous Irwin Allen Sci-Fi Series
Image
When Academy Award winner Akiva Goldsman isn't thinking about the ongoing battle of the making of Constantine 2 or the epic follow-up to I Am Legend's alternate ending, the acclaimed writer and director has had his mind on the world of legendary '60s sci-fi. Irwin Allen was behind the eclectic retro-futuristic shows like Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea, Land of Giants, and The Time Tunnel, which happen to be the three shows that Legendary Television has hired Goldsman to recreate for a modern audience.

While it may sound odd that the same visionary writer that brought fans both the moving drama Cinderella Man and the goofy comic book film Batman Forever is now working on a re-imagined retro sci-fi TV universe, Goldsman has always had a diverse portfolio. He has worked on a variety of projects, like the Best Picture winner A Beautiful Mindand the hit...

Captain America: Brave New World Star Is 'Always' Open to DC Return

Captain America: Brave New World star Carl Lumbly isn't sure what his Marvel Cinematic Universe future holds after the Phase Five blockbuster. However, if the opportunity presents itself, the acclaimed actor admits he's open to featuring in the rival DC Universe.

Speaking with Collider, Lumbly, who portrays supersoldier and Korean War veteran Isaiah Bradley in Brave New World, expressed his interest in doing a potential Dcu project after finding out his long-time collaborator, Mike Flanagan, was given the go-ahead to write his upcoming horror-tragedy film, Clayface. Not only would the prospect of working with Flanagan attract Lumbly to the Dcu, but his experience portraying comic book characters over the years makes him an ideal fit for James Gunn and Peter Safran's cinematic universe.

It’s been twenty years since the release of Constantine, but the chances of a sequel have never looked more promising. While speaking with Inverse, Keanu Reeves said they recently pitched Constantine 2 to DC Studios, and now they’re moving ahead on the script.

“We’ve been trying to make this film for over a decade, and we just recently put a story together and pitched it to DC Studios and they said, ‘Okay,’” Reeves said. “So, we’re going to try and write a script.” As you might expect, Reeves didn’t drop any hint as to what type of story the sequel will tell, only to confirm that it will be set in the same world as the original. “We’re not going off that,” he said. “John Constantine’s going to be tortured even more.“

'Constantine 2': Keanu Reeves Pitched Sequel to DC
Image
Keanu Reeves is all in when it comes toConstantine 2, and he's gotten a green light to start writing the script. Constantine was released 20 years ago, in 2005, and though it wasn't a massive hit, it remains a cult favorite and fans have been asking for a sequel for years. Luckily, it seems that the Constantine sequel is finally on its way and, best of all, Reeves is on board.

Though he's better known these days as John Wick, Reeves seems excited about reprising one of his most underrated characters. Among the actor's future projects, Constantine 2 is one that has spent a lot of time in development hell. Nevertheless, Reeves told Inverse that the project is going forward with the approval of DC:

Keanu Reeves’ Best Sequel is Now Streaming for Free — No, It's Not the One You're Thinking of

Keanu Reeveswasn't kidding when he said he's thinking he's back, because he sure loves to do sequels. He's consistently shown up for each entry of the two mega-franchises to which his career owes a huge debt, The Matrixand John Wick. He added his cultural currency to previously established franchises like Toy Storyand Sonic the Hedgehog, providing forceful new characters that added to the emotional complexity of the narrative. He's even set on making a sequel to one of his cult classics if the progress of Constantine 2 is to be believed. Of the various choices he's given us, I'd argue that the best sequel is actually Bill & Ted Face the Music, the capstone to the Bill & Ted trilogy that just dropped on Tubi.

Twenty years after the release of the DC Comics adaptation Constantine (watch it Here), a sequel is finally moving ahead with director Francis Lawrence back at the helm and star Keanu Reeves reprising the role of occult expert John Constantine… but it’s moving ahead slowly, because it has already been a few years since this project was first announced. There’s hope that it might go into production soon, though. We heard that a script for Constantine 2 had been delivered to executive producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura about five months ago, and now Reeves has said that he’s “aching” to play Constantine again.

Scripted by Kevin Brodbin and Frank Cappello, the first Constantine had the following synopsis: As a suicide survivor, demon hunter John Constantine has literally been to hell and back — and he knows that when he dies, he’s got a one-way ticket to Satan’s...

Keanu Reeves Says He's "Aching" To Play John Constantine Again in Long-Awaited DC Sequel
Image
Keanu Reeves is now best-known for his role as the action icon John Wick but, with the actor having wrapped up that particular saga with 2023’s John Wick: Chapter 4, he is now “aching” to return as another fan-favorite character. The character in question happens to also be called John, DC’s paranormal investigator John Constantine, with Reeves commenting on the long-awaited sequel to his 2005 comic book movie on this, it’s 20th anniversary.

Updates on the development of Constantine 2 have been dripping through over the last few years and, during a recent appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Reeves revealed that conversations are happening. 'It's a Scarier Version': Constantine Director Teases a Very R-Rated Sequel

Constantine was dark enough to please the fan base but director Francis Lawrence said they could have done better. He's going all out with the sequel knowing it would definitely get an R-rating.

Director Francis Lawrence stoked fan anticipation, saying they're "closer than ever to a Constantine sequel". That can't come soon enough because Keanu Reeves said that's a follow-up he's eager to film. Lawrence said a stroke of luck gave them headway. "The big hurdle over these last 20 years has been who has the rights to these Vertigo characters or DC Dark," he told Entertainment Weekly. "NBC did make a series. We've always gotten held up because they go, 'No, we have Constantine. We want to do something with Constantine. You guys can't do your Constantine.' Finally, I think this is right before the strikes, we got everybody to say, 'Okay, you can go.'"

Fans of Constantine seem to have nothing to worry about as the film's director, Francis Lawrence, has given a rather promising update about the sequel. February 18, 2025, marks the 20th anniversary of Constantine's theatrical debut in 2005. Based on the Hellraiser comic series by Vertigo, the movie sees Keanu Reeves step into the role of DC Comics' favorite occult magic user, John Constantine. Keanu Reeves in Constantine (2005)
Constantine 2 just got the update we've all been waiting for
Keanu Reeves in Constantine (2005)
It's really great to see how Constantine has become a cult classic over the years. Released in 2005 at a time when supernatural dramas were all the rage, the horror thriller barely acknowledged the fact that it was based on a DC / Vertigo comic book character. Instead of a blonde, foul-mouthed British man in a brown trenchcoat, John Constantine was a suit-wearing American with dark hair played by everyone's favorite actor Keanu Reeves.

Two decades later and a sequel is in development at Warner Bros., with Reeves set to return. The film was announced in 2022 and it was music to fans' ears. Reeves has experienced a career resurgence over the past decade due to the John Wick franchise, so Constantine 2 felt inevitable - especially when you consider its passionate fanbase. And yet, it always felt so far away, too.

Keanu Reeves' 'Constantine 2' Gets Huge Update From Director

For years, fans of the DC universe have eagerly anticipated the return of one of its most enigmatic characters on the big screen: Keanu Reeves’ John Constantine. After decades of false-starts, complete abandonment, and more recent rumors, a new update has suggested that the long-delayed follow-up to 1997’s Constantine is still very much alive and could still become a reality for those who have been patiently waiting for it to happen.

Francis Lawrence says Constantine 2 is “closer than ever”

It’s been nearly three years since we first learned that Warner Bros. was developing a long-belated sequel to Constantine. A lot has changed in that time, such as James Gunn and Peter Safran taking over DC Studios, but the project is still kicking. Frank A. Cappello in Constantine 2
It’s been just over two years since the official announcement of Constantine 2, with Keanu Reeves coming back to play DC’s John Constantine. While updates have since been scarce, returning director Francis Lawrence recently provided Collider with an exciting update on the sequel.

Speaking with the outlet for the 4K release of the original film, Lawrence teased that Constantine 2 is still very much in the works.

“I will say we are closer than ever to being able to do a sequel, which is a great thing. And Akiva, Keanu and I are super, super excited about it,” Lawrence said. Akiva Goldsman will write the screenplay and produce the project.

As for what to expect, the filmmaker added, “We have a great idea. We have gone through a bunch of the comics over the years and looked at things. I will say that there’s probably grains from things that we’re pulling,...

‘Constantine 2’ Is Closer Than Ever – Keanu Reeves & Director Tease ‘Great Idea’!
Image
Although nearly two decades have passed, Keanu Reeves’ John Constantine might finally be returning to the big screen!

In November 2012, filmmaker Guillermo del Toro signed a deal to develop a Justice League Dark film, centered around DC Comics’ supernatural characters, including John Constantine. Then, in November 2020, actor Peter Stormare hinted at a sequel being “in the works” through an Instagram post. However, neither Warner Bros. nor Reeves immediately confirmed this.

Fast forward to 2023, director Francis Lawrence revealed that he had been working on ideas for the highly anticipated sequel with Keanu Reeves. However, every time they developed something concrete, changes in DC Studios’ leadership disrupted their progress.

Now Francis Lawrence says Constantine 2 is closer than ever to happening! He, Keanu Reeves, and producer Akiva Goldsman have been working hard on an idea they’re really excited about.

Despite years of setbacks, the movie remains a passion project, and Lawrence...

All 18 Keanu Reeves Movies From The 1990s, Ranked
Image
Keanu Reeves has been acting since the 1980s, and has given the world great performances in the realm of action, adventure, drama, and even comedy. It's rare for someone whose most prolific catchphrase is "Whoah" to be able to show so much emotional depth in a wide range of roles. Reeves is known not to take himself too seriously while still being able to take on very serious roles.

The 1990s were a very rich decade for Keanu Reeves' best films, which saw him star in action-packed blockbusters like Speed, emotional indie films like My Own Private Idaho, and ensemble pieces like Bram Stoker's Dracula. His star was on the rise throughout that tumultuous time of growth, and he's been an unwavering part of pop culture ever since. While Reeves has a very stoic approach to acting, with some criticizing his limited range, it's that brooding calmness that makes...

Constantine 2: 10 Reasons To Get Excited About Keanu Reeves' Sequel
Image
Constantine was released in 2005 to mixed reviews, and while it's unclear if the sequel will ever happen, there are plenty of reasons to be excited about it. The Constantine sequel was announced to be in the works in 2022, but it remains to be seen whether the project will move forward. With DC currently focusing on establishing a new cinematic universe overseen by James Gunn, projects like Constantine 2 would only work as Elseworlds stories.

Constantine may be one of the darkest fantasy movies of all time, incorporating horror elements well-suited to director Francis Lawrence. This movie only has 46% on Rotten Tomatoes, despite being one of the most engaging, well-conceived, and original action and horror flicks of the 2000s. Based on the DC Comics character, the movie took a lot of creative liberties but delivered a highly entertaining mix of stylized violence and character-driven drama.

Image
Sonic the Hedgehog 3 is racing past Mufasa: The Lion King at the weekend box office on its way to a $70 million weekend, but it wasn’t always smooth sailing for the franchise. Jeff Fowler, who directed all three of the Sonic movies, which include Sonic the Hedgehog (2020), Sonic the Hedgehog 2 (2022), and this year’s Sonic the Hedgehog 3, talked with Deadline about some of the struggles the films faced early on, including pushback from fans after the first film and character redesign.

“Every movie is going to face challenges, and obviously we had some very public ones with the redesign, but all that stuff has just become part of our story. And it’s something that I sort of champion. We now have this amazing relationship with our fans,” Fowler said. “They obviously voiced some opinions, and those opinions were heard and addressed. It’s now just become...

'We Always Wanted to Do a Sequel': Constantine 2 Director Explains the 20 Year Wait for Keanu Reeves' Return
Image
Nearly 20 years after Keanu Reeves’ iconic Constantine, the DC anti-hero is finally going to be back on the big screen. Constantine 2’s director, Francis Lawrence, opened up to Comic Book to tell fans why it took so long for a sequel - even though he’d been wanting to do it since the first movie hit theaters in 2005.

Lawrence said about five years ago, the idea of a sequel started to be taken a bit more seriously. “The truth is, somewhere around the 15th anniversary or something, we did a Zoom, and we all were discussing trying to get it up and going again,” Lawrence said of the sequel.

Image
Due to a lack of official updates on The Batman - Part II over the past while, there's been some concern that the highly-anticipated sequel could soon face another delay. Director Matt Reeves and others involved with the project have assured fans that things are still on track for a 2025 shoot, but a recent report told a slightly diffrent story.

In their coverage of star Robert Pattinson joining the cast of Christopher Nolan's next movie, THR noted that the actor "is due to return to Batman for Matt Reeves’ sequel and there was hope that it could shoot sometime next year. Those hopes remain in place but nothing is close to being planned."

In his latest newsletter, Jeff Sneider mentions that The Batman Part II is on track to begin shooting late spring/early summer of next year, and is still set to release in theaters in October 2026... for now.

Where The Matrix Trilogy's Cast Members Are Now
Image
Since The Matrix trilogy was released, many of its actors have become major stars or moved on to other projects. The Matrix trilogy was a 1990s and early 2000s cultural phenomenon, with Neo becoming one of the iconic movie characters that defined the 1990s. There are four Matrix movies and a short animated series, with three movies in the original trilogy and a Matrix franchise reboot in 2021. Now, The Matrix 5 has finally been confirmed, and while many of the original and reboot cast members could still return, none have been announced yet.

Yet the original movie about a sentient computer program that has taken over humanity made all its main stars into icons, with many of the characters in The Matrix trilogy still recognizable to people who have not seen it. Some of the original Matrix trilogy stars returned to film the fourth movie in the franchise, while others were neither seen nor mentioned.

I Changed My Mind, I'm Glad My Venom 3 Keanu Reeves Marvel Role Casting Dream Didn't Actually Happen
Image
Venom: The Last Dance has made some of the hopes I had for Keanu Reeves appearing in the Marvel film no longer feel like a disappointment. Venom 3 had an excellent cast, but this roster was notably absent of one figure who'd been much theorized to be in the release - namely, that of Keanu Reeves playing the role of Knull. Instead, Andy Serkis took on the role for the film, providing audiences with their first look at the major Marvel villain on-screen.

With Kraven the Hunter set to be the next 2024 Marvel movie, it's not clear where Sony's franchise is heading, and while teases have been made that more Knull can be expected for the future following the Venom: The Last Dance ending, how this will unfold is also uncertain. Based on this - and the way in which the movie uses Knull himself - having Keanu Reeves not...
