    • Trivia
The Governors Award goes annually to outstanding achievement in the arts, sciences or management of television. It can be given in recognition of a performer's career or for a single outstanding achievement beyond the scope of the Emmys. This year's recipient, Red Skelton, won an Emmy in 1951 for best comedian and another in 1961 for best comedy writing. Presenter Lucille Ball described Skelton as a man who wasn't "just one wonderful person, but a collection of comedic talents from Clem Kadiddlehopper to San Fernando Red. I am so proud to present the Governors Award to my redheaded friend, Red Skelton," she said.
