It has some jumpscares but I find the story a little boring. The movie has good sound mixing and colors but that's it. It could've been better in some aspects. Great acting by the cast though.
Because honesty is the best policy I have to say I didn't know fully what I was walking into. I read a synopsis but nowhere did it say that the movie was in Tagalog. I don't truly mind. I'm used to subtitles. I've watched more than my fair share of subtitled kung-fu movies and Japanese anime.
Clarita was really a Filipino version of "The Exorcist" with a few wrinkles. It had everything you come to expect in a possession movie: possessed girl, freaky contortions of the body, levitation, changed voice, rapidly deteriorating body, a priest or two, and an exorcism. Had it not all been done many times over before in American movies I may have appreciated this movie more.

Everything is cliche, everything has been done before. It's like watching a generic exorcism film from the 80's. The acting is not even good. There are a lot of stupid scenes that are too obvious, it's like they are waiting for the director to say cut. Not worth watching. Not even worth mentioning. Just pass on this movie if you don't wanna be disappointed.
Really bad acting, timing, sequence, makeup and everything. No wonder it didnt make the charts. It didnt even make some noise. Not a good movie to watch either. The narrative and how everything was written is half of the story and didnt even tell the entire truth and have omitted half of it. Clarita wasnt exorcised entirely by a priest but by a christian pastor from Bethel Temple in the 50s. Whoever made this film mustve been catholic. What's the goal of this movie? What's the lesson of this movie? Will it make people go back to church? Did it show the glory of God? Did the director and the actors wanted to tell a good story? Go watch a different movie instead than this. It is not even worth your time.
I don't want to say it was garbage, but I did not like it that much and I good not wait for the movie to be over. It's a very weak story that was not even hitting the cliches hard enough for me to stay in it.
Ultimately boring.

- TriviaThe exorcist who actually performed the exorcism is a Protestant pastor named Lester Sumrall--not two Catholic priests. He built a church, the present Cathedral of Praise in Manila, after the success of the exorcism.
