The footage of Jim Varney recording the voice of Cookie is actually footage of him recording the voice of Slinky Dog in Toy Story because during production Jim had gone bald and grew a goatee due to chemotherapy he had taken to fight his cancer and made him look like a totally different person than what most people recognize him.
