Battle Kitty is pretty good, but not interactive at all

The show is okay, but it's absolutely filled with moments where the viewer could pick a certain weapon or strategy, and yet there are absolutely no choices given to us. The only thing we do is click on the map to go to different bosses or areas, and there is an episode inside of that area. I can't say that the show isn't cute or entertaining, but it's quite disappointing to start watching and find out that it's just a tv show with "interactive" slapped on the cover.

The level of user interaction with the show can be compared to an animated DVD menu, not a choose your own adventure like previous interactive netflix titles such as bandersnatch.

I also think that the content sometimes gets a little heavier than what a 7 year old should be watching (per the y7 rating), but it's not too serious. I would compare the maturity level to adventure time or steven universe, although it starts out much more shallow and gets more serious in later episodes.

A bit cringy, but still very funny

Im a teen who watched this show as a joke, but the further I got into it the more I unironically started to enjoy the show, the show's first half has a bunch of balls to the walls humor that's so stupid yet genius at the same time, the animation looks both cheap yet detailed, and the acting is so mediocre yet fantastic, all of these characteristics of the show give it its charm and what makes it stand out from other shows, another thing that makes it stand out is it's concept of being inside a video game, out of all of the media I've seen that has tried to resemble video games, this one has done it the best, there was never a moment in the show where I went "wait a second, that's not how video games worked." It all felt realistic to a video game and I really liked that. But with all of that being said, there are a few flaws to the show. For one thing the second half of the show tries to be more serious and tries to develop their characters more, but that isn't the flaw, the flaw is that they sacrifice time for comedy witch makes the show less funny, but don't get me wrong the show is still decently funny in the second half, but it's not as funny as it was during the first half, another thing about the show that I don't like is that there are a few jokes in the show that are a bit cringy, being a Y7 show it sometimes tend to go for the lower end of the comedy spectrum to appeal to the little babies that watch the show. But other than that, I recommend the show for anyone who are enjoy balls to the wall humor. 7/10.

Ridiculously Funny.

I put it on for my kids but got sucked in myself. Everything about this show is great! It's fun. It's fast paced. The characters are interesting and funny. Nothing ever seems to happen quite like you'd expect so it keeps you wondering.

I've never seen anything like this show. It pays homage to classic cartoons and videogames alike, coupled with an art style, and world that is so unique.

It has a great sense of humour and real heart to it. There's so many fun characters and twists and turns.

I love the art direction - everything from the character designs, the environments, the animation, and how it's all been achieved in 3D is mesmerizing.

I'm also a sucker for videogame overworld maps, and this show has some of the best I've seen.

I'll be hanging out with Kitty and Orc again once I've finished todays adult life chores.

Two thumbs up from me!

This show is so terrible. No clue why anyone would make this. The humor is the same throughout the show - boring and disgusting. The characters are dumb and not well written. The whole show is just so bad.

Me and the SO have been watching this as a bedtime wind down show. Its very cute and funny - it also nails the very 'random' quirky humor without being cringey. We are both near 30 and each episode gets lots of smiles and laughs out of us.

Its not very interactive other than it basically has a video game style overworld level chooser to pick your episode within the show.

Doesnt really matter as once we saw the first part of it i actually felt like interactivity might ruin it as I was enjoying the show so much.

Choosing an episode of something is not interaction. I choose episodes every time I get on Netflix. That's not a draw. My daughter is six and actually very upset that this isn't a REAL GAME. You can't select any actions or items. You literally click on videos. My daughter can do that on YouTube lol what is the point of calling this interactive?? I'm super disappointed in the way they've marketed this. She can hardly sit through an episode because she's expecting a GAME. Every day she tells me she wants to "play" battle Kittie and I have to explain to her that it DOESN'T WORK LIKE THAT. Anyway the storyline is fine I guess. Other than that I hate this.

This show is just so funny. My kids love it and I love it. It feels random in the best way possible. Kitty wears bows and his friend orc make them and other things to help him fight. They have a true friendship. It's not as interactive as other shows has been. But my kids don't really seem to care because they like the show so much.

To me this show only wants to normalize peoples gluteus on everyone's faces. Characters put in a position where it looks like big character is humping little character. Some characters if they are not being told what to do by Dad they are pushing against one another with their butts. This type of thing is going on through out the show over and over. If you find that funny and think this show should not be cancelled then this show should be for adults not for kids. It's a shame Netflix is allowing this to be call a kids show. Sexual predators would love to normalize this show. Big characters walking around with their gluteus showing and hugging little characters from behind.

This show is criminally underated!!

I love Battle Kitty. The show deserves so much more attention than its received. This show is so funny and endearing, It really makes you want to keep watching it. The characters are really well written and the humor is extremely funny and very expressive of the shows ability to enthrall you into its universe. My favorite parts of it are the main character Kitty's quirks and catch phrases that easily get stuck in your head and you find yourself singing them to yourself. It's very light hearted with a side of topics not usually discussed in a show aimed at kids. The show is very LGBTQ friendly and is really refreshing to see such a wonderful incorporation of that identity into some of the characters without it being the main focus for the sake of having a token LGBTQ character. Honestly I'm not ever sure if this show is ment for "kids", I'd say it's more for younger to older teens as the humor can be a bit crude at times and as an adult; still being able to find the humor very funny. As far as the "intractable" part of the series, its not particularly that "interactable" aside from choosing what order to watch the episodes in. The interaction comes from the series being set up like a video game and each episode being a different level. Although the interaction with the overworld is very minimal, it's still really fun to watch the characters run around the map in these little miniature forms and watching the map change depending on what episode you just watched. I cannot express enough how much I adore this show and am eagerly awaiting an announcement for a season 2. Please give this show a watch if you haven't already!

Not As Interactive As I Thought

Battle Kitty looks like a cute show that is interactive, but when you play this, all expectations are shattered.

In this, Kitty, a male cat who wears bows that grants him powers, and his friend, Orc, escape Orc Island and head to Battle Island, where Kitty dreams of being champion. He has to defeat all monsters, and deal with rival ZaZa Royal, to claim this.

Okay, for a show calling itself interactive, there's not much, as the only interactive part is choosing what quests to do on the map. That's it, no on-screen prompts during moments that allow for the story to change for better or worst. I am only giving this special two stars because it has a diverse cast of characters.

'No such thing as a stereotype' describes Battle Kitty

Don't be fooled by your first impression. If you are into anime/cartoons (a bit more adult), give this a chance.

After all these years this show mixes all stereotypes into 'there is no such thing as a stereotype'. Just hilarious and amazing!

You can get lost in the puzzle that is the interactive map of episodes. It is quite unclear which ones you saw and it takes quite long to start the selection process. Sometimes it is easier to just not choose so you know you stay on course to the end.

Fun and/or irritating fact: you *must* watch each episode. You can not skip because the interactive part won't allow it and sent you to your last point.

NOT FOR Y7

This show isn't Y7 at all. The themes for a Y7 show shouldn't have an old man oogling his own grand fathers and I quote "sublime" but cheeks after a man character is basically enthralled with a beautiful person in armor all in the same 3 minutes. Like what?!

It really felt on par with children being read stories by people in lingerie or going to none nude strip shows that include tipping.

I would not recommend this show I am now actively looking to block content on Netflix or cancel my account all together.

I really am disappointed in the rating Netflix is providing and the auto ads that are similar to the firestick.

This needs more attention

My sister beg me to watch this and I thought it was gonna be boring but suprinsly...it was awesome!

Yeah, The butt jokes are bad and is not that interactive but MOST OF IT ARE GOOD! A protagonist being a non binary cat wishing for stop being a hopeless slave and moving to being a carefree warrior with power ups to use anytime thanks to their orc sidekick.

And while that, a selfish princess wants to be the best and not letting kitty win (even though they got new friends)! Can't believe that I got in love with this kid show as a teenager.

I'm glad that this show has musical numbers, I know there short but I still love them...Since I'm a big fan of cartoon songs (alongside sonic songs and fnaf songs)

I'm trying to find a video of someone reviewing this cartoon and I just find only ONE! This show needs more attention.

I don't care If is not interactive, I only care If the plot is good!

My kids started watching this last week and by the end of that week i was watching also lol. The cat is amazingly cute and funny.

I don't know much about the interactive side of the programme but as far as the actual episodes are concern it's well worth the watch!

I watched the whole thing with my 5 y/o and I absolutely loved everything from the writing to the animation. It'd sooo funny and so well done. It also sets an excellent example on inclusivity without making a fuzz out of it.

I cant describe how much i loved this show, i usually don't binge shows but this was amazing also it got more lore heavy near the midway-end point but it was easy to follow yet interesting the animation is adorable and the yippee sound effect? I love it!

(also all the characters are so great and distinct from one another!!!)

Only thing i didn't really like was the butt humor, its not really my thing.

Normally cute little kitties with a tiny pink bow would be something that girls would consider. However, (as a male) I really liked it.

Everything from ZaZa Royale's never-ending hallway to the unnecessary (but WAY TOO funny) random repetition is great about this show.

The monsters are well designed and fit their names. I also like that ZaZa and Kitty randomly meet each other and for no reason whatsoever at literally the worst times ever.

I love the 3D art and random skin colors (such as ZaZa being blue) and that when one dies, they don't die all the way. They simply become ghosts.

My favorite show on Netflix!

I love this show, the humor is the best I've seen in a looong time. It's so well made, the humor is my absolute favorite, almost everyone in the user ratings is just upset about the interactive part of the series, and not actually about the show itself. I love sooo much, and I love all the characters! They all have their own back stories and issues to deal with, and one or two love stories! And the ending is crazy and left room for more to add! And there's a ton of dancing, laughter and funny faces! Don't miss out on such a great show, and thank you Matt for creating something so awesome to watch over and over!

Why interactive?

The story is cute and rather amusing but it's interactive design is rather pointless. It definitely would be more enjoyable and user friendly if they would have just made it an episodic series.

It is just SO funny & cute!

I watched this with my 7 year old and yes, as you've been reading it is not really that interactive but it is very dynamic, challenging every possible expected course of action and really shows good values such as true friendship, diversity, collaboration and self esteem. I really hope there is a second Season 🙏🏻👌🏻!

Not really interactive as it says, but a great show nonetheless.

A neat show that has plenty of game references and even a overworld map. Note that it isn't as interactive as it says and it won't let you randomly watch episodes, it'll make you watch in order. Anyways, it's about a kitty, known simply as Kitty with his best friend Orc who has a dream to escape the life of being a slave and pet to Orc's rude father and brothers and become Battle Champion. He does has obstacles to face and even a rival known as Zaza Royale. He and Orc meet friends along the way. He may not be strong but he finds different ways to beat the monsters in the towers to gain keys. Yeah it should be more interactive than just pick the episodes on the overworld maps in a different order, and the bonus ones. Would be neat to actually pick the bows Kitty would wear, play some of the games in Cashino Woods, and even customize Kitty and Orc's racecar on the race episode. Again, it's still worth a watch, especially for those who like video games.

Its not a really deep series, its similar to the first seasons of adventure time in that kind of sense, but is really funny and entertaining, has some weak and easy jokes (mainly butt/fart jokes) sometimes but the amazing ones compensate, the amazing artstyle, music and direction makes it just a visual treasure, the characters are well written and dont come off as annoying in any part of the show, the stories are simple but feel complete, and the finale is honestly pretty solid, kitty being the final monster is a plot twist that i was not expecting,for a series thats mainly comedy, i really appreciate the effort put into it, and the little interactive segments of the map complete the feeling of "videogame" that wants to accomplish, really underrated.

I see that some people were upset about it not being so interactive, but I think it makes it easier for kids to go back and watch their favorite parts. This is definitely a show worth watching. The friendship between the main characters is noble, and even though the show is laced with silly humor, the creators still touch on themes of conflict resolution and how to deal with hurtful people. I think it's a nice touch compared to most shows for children that are utterly senseless.
