Making 'the Man Who Wasn't There'

Sometimes I wonder why film studios or filmmakers invest in heavily edited and hurried making of specials. This one for Coen brothers amazing "The Man Who Wasn't There" is average at best simply because it wasn't so carefully planned neither so specially presented. It consists of interviews with the actors talking about their characters; cinematographer Roger Deakins and the Coens sharing how they come with ideas for the story - the latter is definitely the most enjoyable moment due to their sense of humor; and there are a couple of behind the scenes.

But all of those moments are very brief and cut short - as evidenced that when a certain question is answered the sound goes silent yet you see the actors mouth moving meaning they shared a lot more but for reasons unknown is all edited down. Another proof of that is that the bit with Deakins comes from a longer interview with him, also a bonus material from the DVD and what an amazing conversation that was (nearly 50 minutes but it's all worth it).

I liked this making of though I was definitely hoping for more since I've seen other similar projects and usually they work better when things don't feel rushed or missing something. 7/10.
