- It's been rumored that Santa's existence is challenged in the film, but this is not the case. In a rough cut shown at some film festivals, there was in fact one line by a professor about Santa not being invented until the late 1800's. But that line was replaced in the final cut, since the filmmakers were not in fact out to ruin Christmas, but rather aim to encourage an even better one.
