Evil Dead Burn: Horror Spin-Off Finds Its Lead In Dune: Part Two Actress Souheila Yacoub
Image
Sébastien Vaniček's Evil Dead Burn is preparing to enter production in New Zealand, and Variety reports that Dune: Part Two's Souheila Yacoub is set to play the lead role.

Yacoub had a small, but memorable supporting part in Denis Villeneuve's sequel as Fremen warrior Shishakli, who sacrifices her life to give her people time to escape a Harkonnen attack.

Vaniček made his feature directorial debut with Vermin/Vermine, aka Infested, which focused on the residents of a rundown French apartment building attempting to survive when an army of venomous, rapidly reproducing spiders invade.

The movie garnered a lot of acclaim, and won Best Picture and Best Director in its North American premiere at Fantastic Fest. It was also invited to the Sitges Film Festival, where it earned a nomination for Best Motion Picture and won a Special Jury Prize.

Whether this new movie will bring back Bruce Campbell's Ash Williams is unclear,...

Every Version Of Stephen King's The Long Walk That Didn't Get Made
Image
2025 is already shaping up to be yet another big year for Stephen King fans. With Osgood Perkins' "The Monkey" having come out back in February, the remaining months are paved with big screen adaptations of "The Life of Chuck" and "The Running Man," in addition to a television series based on "The Institute." In case that wasn't enough, it seems especially fitting that "The Long Walk, one of King's bleakest stories, is finally set to hit theaters in September from director Francis Lawrence and "Strange Darling" screenwriter Jt Mollner. Marathons will never be seen the same way again.

The harrowing premise of "The Long Walk" envisions a dystopian future in which a group of young boys volunteer for the titular event in which the winner gets to make a wish of their choosing from an ominous figure known as the Major (Mark Hamill). All they have to do is walk,...

The Long Walk trailer: Stephen King adaptation reaches theatres in September
Image
Last year, an adaptation of the Stephen King novel The Long Walk (which was, like The Running Man and Thinner, published under the pen name Richard Bachman) went into production, with director Francis Lawrence, whose previous credits include Constantine, I Am Legend, Water for Elephants, The Hunger Games: Catching Fire, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Parts 1 and 2, Red Sparrow, Slumberland, and The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, at the helm. Lionsgate will be releasing the film on September 12th – and today, the first trailer for The Long Walk has dropped online! You can check it out in the embed above.

An adaptation of The Long Walk has been trudging through development hell for decades. At one point, the rights were in the hands of Frank Darabont, who made the King adaptations The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile, and The Mist. Then the rights passed over to New Line Cinema,...

The Hunger Games Director's Stephen King Dystopian Thriller Drops Intense First Trailer
Image
The task is simple: walk or die. That's the tagline for the new Stephen King movie, The Long Walk, which has just released its first intense and chilling trailer.

The Long Walk is notable for being the first novel that King ever wrote, having begun it in the mid-1960s during his freshman year at the University of Maine. Ultimately, Carrie ended up being his first published novel, while The Long Walk was eventually released in 1979, as one of King's Richard Bachman books. Based on the trailer, the movie looks to be a pretty faithful adaptation of the dystopian horror novel, although with one interesting difference: Mark Hamill's the Major states that the teenage boys will need to maintain a speed above three miles per hour to avoid receiving a warning, one mile per hour less than the book. Check out the official trailer for The Long Walk below.

The Long Walk Trailer Brings Stephen King's Bleakest Story To The Big Screen
Image
After spending years (and years) in development hell, one of Stephen King's earliest and most brutal novels is finally coming to the big screen — and we have proof! Lionsgate has released the first trailer for "The Long Walk," which hits theaters this fall. While King isn't one to pull punches, this is one of his most unflinchingly brutal works, with young men walking to their deaths while the last one standing wins a prize in a post-apocalyptic, grim vision of the future. Check it out for yourself above.

"The Long Walk" is very much akin to King's "Hunger Games," albeit without any YA flair. This is nitty, gritty, and very much R-rated. It perhaps makes sense that Francis Lawrence, known best for his work on "The Hunger Games" movies, is in the director's chair for this one. Lionsgate isn't giving us much by way of the plot, with the...

Stephen King Has A Theory Why It Took So Long To Film The Long Walk
Image
The entertainment market is so full of great and not-so-great Stephen King movies that live-action versions of the massively prolific horror maestro's work will no doubt soon count as a subgenre of their own. There are numerous guilty pleasures or otherwise underrated King movies among them, and everyone has their own favorites -- including the writer himself, who has very clear opinions about which King adaptations are the best ones.

Now, another live action version is about to join the ever-expanding Stephen King section in the annals of cinema. "The Long Walk" is one of his older works, which he wrapped up way back in 1967. Published under King's Richard Bachman pseudonym in 1979, the story imagines a dystopian country where an annual, borderline impossible walking contest among representatives of the nation's youth grants its winner a boon from an ominous militant figure, The Major (played in the adaptation by Mark Hamill...

“I wasn’t expecting it”: The Most Gruesome Moment in The Walking Dead Had a Major Flaw
Image
So, when someone says The Walking Dead, what flashes in your head first? The blood-soaked brawls? The half-rotten walkers groaning through cornfields? Maybe. But it’s also the characters, those we love, those we love to hate, and the ones who break our hearts when they meet an untimely end. And of all the shocking deaths that shook fans to their core, Dale Horvath’s death remains one of the most gruesome and emotionally charged.

It was gut-wrenching to watch Dale, played by Jeffrey DeMunn, get torn apart by a walker. But wait… as intense as it was, something about the scene didn’t quite add up. It left many fans wondering: how could something so shocking feel so flawed at the same time?

Dale’s gruesome death: Fans are not buying it Andrea (Laurie Holden), Dale (Jeffrey DeMunn) and Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) in The Walking Dead | Credit: AMC...

'Cujo' Star Reveals Stephen King's Reaction to the Movie's Ending After It Was Changed
Image
When you think about Stephen King movies from the 1980s, there are a few classics that immediately come to mind. The Shining, Stand By Me, The Dead Zone, and, of course, 1983's Cujo. Directed by Lewis Teague, who can forget the horrifying tale of a rabid St. Bernard terrorizing a mother and her son trapped in a Ford Pinto on a blistering-hot summer day? Both the book and the movie managed to strike a chord with audiences, not only because of the subject matter, but also because of the way each one ended. Now, star Dee Wallace has revealed King's reaction to the film's conclusion, which was noticeably different from his novel.

Appearing on Still Here Hollywood with Steve Kmetko, Wallace spoke at length about her incredible career, which has included appearances in Steven Spielberg's E.T., The Howling, Rob Zombie's Halloween, and Cujo. Wallace played Donna Trenton in the King film,...

Stephen King Had One Condition To Allow The Mist TV Series
Image
At some point in the future, the number of Stephen King adaptations on screen will outpace the number of stories the horror master has written for the page. Hollywood is always hungry for new and old King tales alike, and has rarely slowed its adaptation machine down in the nearly 50 years since "Carrie" first hit theaters.

At a certain point, it became clear that King, who's only produced a handful of adaptations based on his own work, would have to cede control of his considerable source material and let each new interpretation do its own thing. Still, he's famously made his opinions on the adaptations known over the years, and always seems interested in the ways filmmakers distinguish their version of the story from his. Several King movies and shows by now feel like unique properties in their own right, with Osgood Perkins' deeply personal and sickly hilarious take on...

Lanterns Actor Garret Dillahunt Drops Hint That He's Playing Green Arrow; James Gunn Responds
Image
Yesterday, some images posted by Lanterns actor Garrett Dillahunt sparked speculation that the Deadwood and Last House of the Left star might be set to play Oliver Queen in the upcoming HBO series.

When Dillahunt's casting was announced, he was said to be playing a character named William Macon, who was described as "a self-righteous, conspiracy-minded man who masks his ruthless ambition behind a charming and calculated facade."

It's easy enough to understand why fans might have assumed that he's really playing Ollie - the actor appeared in costume as Green Arrow in some behind-the-scenes photos and storyboard shots, after all - but whatever his reasons for sharing the since-deleted Insta post, it doesn't look like he'll be suiting up as the Emerald Archer in the Dcu.

When asked if there was any truth to the rumor that Dillahunt might have been cast as Ga on Threads, DC Studios co-head...

The Real Reason Jeffrey DeMunn's Dale Died In The Walking Dead Season 2
Image
It's tough being a wise old man character on "The Walking Dead." If you're not getting beheaded with a sword by the Governor, then you're probably getting your stomach ripped open by a stray walker. That's what happened to poor Dale (Jeffrey DeMunn), the guy who served as the primary survivor group's voice of reason for nearly two full seasons before his untimely demise on "The Walking Dead." Did Dale's moral code occasionally bring him into goody-two-shoes territory? Eh, probably. But it's better to have too many scruples than none at all, and the group was worse off in his absence.

In the "Walking Dead" TV show's season 2 episode "Judge, Jury, Executioner," Dale is patrolling around the farm alone at night when he sees a partially-devoured cow. He goes to investigate only to be ambushed by a surprise walker. Dale is strong enough to restrain the walker from biting him,...

Lanterns Adds Paul Ben-Victor As A Mysterious "Extraterrestrial" Villain - Could This Be Atrocitus?
Image
Lanterns has been filming for a while at this stage, but we have word on yet another late addition to the cast of the DC Studios/HBO series.

Deadline reports that veteran actor Paul Ben-Victor (Nobody Wants This) is set for a key recurring role as Antaan, "an extraterrestrial devoted to exposing the truth and exacting vengeance against those who wronged his people. Consumed by a deep and unrelenting hatred for the law, he is determined to deliver justice on his own terms."

Antaan isn't an established DC Comics character, and based on the description above, there's speculation that Ben-Victor could actually be playing Atrocitus.

Introduced in Green Lantern vol. 4 #25 back in 2008, Atros witnessed the deaths of his wife and children when the rogue Manhunters laid waste to Space Sector 666. Renaming himself "Atrocitus", he and four survivors formed a terrorist cabal known as the Five Inversions, who made it their...

Hajime Isayama Was Forced to Change Attack on Titan’s Original Ending Because of an Unexpected Wake-up Call
Image
With those gigantic creatures known as Titans, epic battles, and insane twists and turns, Attack on Titan is undoubtedly a straight-up phenomenon. The series is near perfect, as the bittersweet ending might be the only contentious point.

It was almost as if fans were either hailing it as something really amazing or screaming “What?!” And believe it or not, the creator Hajime Isayama could’ve taken the end to even darker places – more like a version of ‘The Mist’, where we would all be crying in a corner. So, where did it change?

Perhaps an unexpected wake-up call? It was we fans. As Attack on Titan was gaining popularity, especially during the rapid success of the anime that was released in 2013, Isayama was really feeling the love and, more importantly, the pressure that came from the fandom that developed around the world. It really was overwhelming for him, and really,...

Cloverfield (2008) Revisited – Horror Movie Review
Image
In the grand tradition of cinematic monsters, America has given us some absolute legends: King Kong, the T-Rex from Jurassic Park, and whatever that thing was from The Mist that made everyone give up on life. But in 2008, J.J. Abrams, Matt Reeves, and Drew Goddard decided to throw their own beast into the ring with Cloverfield, a found-footage monster movie that came out of nowhere, scared the hell out of us, and left us with more questions than answers. But how did this shaky behemoth come to be? And why, after all these years, does it still stand tall (unlike most of the buildings in the film)? Grab your handheld camera, whisper cryptic things into the lens, and let’s take a deep dive into the glorious madness that is Cloverfield. And perhaps answer the biggest question of all… why is it even called Cloverfield?

The origin story of Cloverfield...

Devastating Stephen King Movie With an Ending You Can’t Unsee Is Now on Prime Video
Image
Do you love Stephen King as much as I do? Are you keen to have your day ruined? If you answered yes to both of the questions I just posed, I have a special treat in store for you. That’s right, dear reader. A Stephen King adaptation with a devastating ending that you cannot unsee is now available to stream on Prime Video. Hooray?

If you haven’t already guessed which adaptation I’m talking about, the picture in question is Frank Darabont‘s The Mist. Darabont penned the screen treatment for King’s novella, in addition to sitting at the helm of the project. The Mist is not Darabont’s first King adaptation, however. Not by a long shot. The filmmaker previously directed The Shawshank Redemption and The Green Mile. Not to mention, he also helmed a segment for the Nightshift Collection in 1994.

Given that Darabont has a...

Luther Sloan and Death turn 75, or, rather, William Sadler does
Image
It’s hard to believe, but both Luther Sloan and Death are turning 75 years old. Well, truth be told, they may not be, but the man who played both is. The talented character actor William Sadler will celebrate his 75th birthday on April 13.

Sadler memorably portrayed the wily and secretive Section 31 operative Luther Sloan in the Star Trek: Deep Space Nine episodes “Inquisition,” “Inter Arma Emin Silent Leges,” and “Extreme Measures.” Section 31, of course, went on to also figure prominently in subsequent Star Trek productions, most recently the Michelle Yeoh vehicle, Star Trek: Section 31. Sloan died by suicide in “Extreme Measures,” which premiered on May 19, 1999, during DS9’s seventh and final season.

During an interview with StarTrek.com in 2010, that he likened Sloan to Oliver North, a soldier and National Security Council staffer who, in the 1980s, became embroiled in what is referred to as the Iran-Contra Affair. “(Sloan) does what needs to be done,...

After It, Bill Skarsgard Starred In Another Spooky Stephen King Adaptation
Image
Stephen King superfans, especially those who have read the books in the "Dark Tower" series (currently being adapted by Mike Flanagan), will be able to tell you that many of the author's stories interconnect in unexpected ways. For instance: in the original novel of King's "It," Dick Halloran from "The Shining" appears and interacts with one of the story's child protagonists. There is a scene in "Wizard and Glass," the fourth "Dark Tower" novel, where the characters visit the plague-ridden reality of King's "The Stand." The character of Father Callahan from "Salem's Lot" becomes one of the main characters of the "Dark Tower" series. There are also several King stories that take place in the fictional town of Castle Rock, Maine. There are many other connections that a deep-cut King reader could add to this list.

In 2018, television honchos Sam Shaw and Dustin Thomason decided to take advantage of their...

The Real Reason Laurie Holden's Andrea Died In The Walking Dead Season 3
Image
Oh, Andrea. If there's any character who "The Walking Dead" television series fumbled worse, I can't think of them. The Andrea of comics was one of the longest lasting and most beloved characters in the series, whereas Laurie Holden's version of Andrea in the TV show was despised. It's easy to draw a line from the dislike of her character to her early death in the season 3 finale, "Welcome to the Tombs."

Andrea's "Walking Dead" season 3 arc was invented for the show whole cloth, and a major departure from the comics. She winds up at Woodbury, the seemingly normal town run by the Governor (David Morrissey). Andrea clings to the illusion of the pre-apocalyptic world, so much so that she spends a whole half-season refusing to return to her friends. Her loyalty to Woodbury bites her. She gets a goodbye to Rick (Andrew Lincoln) and Michonne (Danai Gurira), then...

A fourth Stephen King film adaptation will hit theaters this year. Lionsgate just announced during their CinemaCon presentation that The Long Walk will be released on Sept. 12, 2025. A trailer for the King movie was also shared with those in attendance.

The Long Walk director Francis Lawrence was onstage during the presentation to tease the upcoming movie, which is based on the 1979 dystopian horror novel of the same name by King (published under the pseudonym Richard Bachman). "This is my favorite Stephen King novel, I read it 27 years ago," said Lawrence (via Deadline). "The rights got bought and then came back up. Roy Lee, my producer, brought it to me. For me, it was the conceit that was very interesting. You can imagine yourself in the shoes of these young men. Lanterns Officially Adds Superman Actor Nathan Fillion As Guy Gardner
Image
Coming off rumors that Nathan Fillion's Guy Gardner will make an appearance in the upcoming Lanterns series, Deadline has confirmed that the Firefly alum will indeed be a part of the HBO series.

We're not sure how significant of a role Fillion will play in the show, as the site only notes that he will return as Gardner after making his debut as the character in James Gunn's Superman.

While speaking to TV Line about his long-running series, The Rookie, in a recent interview, Fillion shared some new details on his interpretation of Gardner.

"He's a jerk!," said the actor when asked what separates Guy from his fellow ring-slinging heroes. "What's important to know is, you don't have to be good to be a Green Lantern; you just have to be fearless. So Guy Gardner is fearless, and he is not very good. He's not nice, which is...

15 Great Horror Movies With High Body Counts
Image
High body counts tend to be a trademark of slasher and exploitation films, which are popular horror subgenres, but there are all kinds of movies with shocking death tolls. From crime tales like The Purge to zombie movies like Dawn of the Dead, a high tally makes perfect sense in the context of these stories. Add an apocalypse into the mix, and that could very well be the end of humanity entirely.

Some of the greatest high-body-count horror movies leave a lot to the imagination, while others revel in the bloody display. Regardless of viewer preference, there's something to be said for horror movies that leave a trail of bodies in their wake that fans of the genre won't ever forget.

Updated on March 28, 2025, by Arthur Goyaz: Most horror movies feature a high body count, but some films go to unbelievable lengths to depict catastrophic massacres - some of them...

Stephen King at an event for The Manchurian Candidate (2004)

HBO Passed On Making The Walking Dead For A Surprising Reason
Image
HBO has a reputation for being the king of television, but over the years, it's let some great shows slip through its hands. The network passed on "Breaking Bad" in what creator Vince Gilligan once called the worst meeting he's ever had. It turned down "Yellowjackets" for being too similar to "Euphoria." And it lost out on an absolute cash cow when it didn't pick up "The Walking Dead."

As with "Breaking Bad," HBO's loss on "The Walking Dead" was AMC's gain. Now, HBO eventually found its zombie show with "The Last of Us" (even if it's substantially different than "Walking Dead"), but it missed the chance to be near ground zero of the 2000s and early 2010s zombie resurgence.

Why? According to "Walking Dead" executive producer Greg Nicotero (speaking in a 2012 interview with the Huffington Post), HBO had some concerns about the material. Specifically, the network thought it was too violent!

Darren Aronofosky’s Next Horror Loading: Netflix Confirms Stephen King Adaptation of ‘Cujo’
Image
Stephen King’s Cujo is set to be adapted by Netflix, potentially with Darren Aronofsky as the director. The 1981 novel tells a chilling story about a mother and her son surrounded by horror, with their chances of survival growing dim as the plot unfolds. With Aronofsky in discussions with Netflix, this classic tale will soon come to life on screen.

A still from Darren Aronofsky’s Mother! | Paramount Pictures

Aronofsky’s knack for crafting psychological thrillers throughout his career and Netflix’s obsession with adapting Stephen King’s work sound like a match made in heaven. For those who have been waiting for a horror tale, Cujo will serve it right into their plates, evoking all sorts of harrowing emotions one might not be prepared for. This will also mark Aronofsky’s first feature on a streaming platform.

Stephen King’s 1981 classic Cujo will soon be renewed by Netflix Stephen...

10 Worst Stephen King Endings, Ranked
Image
More than one wiseguy writer has uttered some variant on, "It's the journey, not the destination," but let's be honest: If you trek a thousand miles through some of the most beautiful, strange, and intriguing landscapes on Earth only to end up at a Burger King, you may wonder why you've endured so much for a lukewarm box of chicken fries. Sticking the landing is a nightmare for every creator, but not everyone can take the occasional wet plop with aplomb like Stephen King can. King is an endurance runner of a writer, and no matter the ending, he still gets us to enjoy our journey with him. That's one of his biggest skills, and it's also the one that always gets us lining up for his next book.

King will also be the first to admit when the ending gets away from him, either from some late game writer's block,...

Lanterns Cast Member Confirms That The Guardians Of The Universe & The Sinestro Corps(?) Will Feature
Image
It seems we can expect to see the Guardians of the Universe and (possibly) the Sinestro Corps in the upcoming Dcu Lanterns series.

While being interviewed about her new series, Deli Boys, Poorna Jagannathan spoke about what excites her most about the show, and in her enthusiasm, may have given away a little more than she realized.

"I couldn't have loved the writing for Green Lantern more. Like Deli Boys, the Green Lantern series is extraordinarily well written and my character is extraordinarily well-built. And also, the way I can describe all the characters. We have all the characters we know and love... the Lanterns, the Guardians, Sinestros, and that world is still intact and everyone is presented as heroes and villains at the same time. And that's what makes the writing so complex, layered and so wonderful."

The Guardians of the Universe are a race of blue-skinned aliens who founded the Green Lantern Corps,...

Lanterns Showrunner Says Series Will Be "Grounded Without Sacrificing The Magic Of The Source Material"
Image
The first official promo image for HBO's Lanterns was released on Thursday as filming officially commenced, giving us a look at stars Kyle Chandler and Aaron Pierre as their respective ring-slinging heroes, Hal Jordan and John Stewart.

The characters were not in-costume, but the signature ring of the Green Lantern Corps was visible on Chandler's finger.

Though there is a lot of excitement for this series, the decision to take a more grounded approach to a sci-fi superhero comic featuring an army of space cops protecting the universe from alien threats has left some fans baffled.

Showrunner and executive producer Chris Mundy (via the Wbd press site) has now assured fans that Lanterns won't "sacrifice the magic of the source material."

“From the start, our driving force has been to deliver a layered drama – rooted in nuanced storytelling and rich world building – that balances tension and mystery with honest, authentic emotion.

“There’s never really quite enough money, but…”: Peter Capaldi’s One Glaring Criticism of Doctor Who Is Still Relevant Today
Image
For a long time, Doctor Who has been a stalwart expression of Hollywood’s undying love for sci-fi fantasy. The BBC series may have launched to a relatively smaller audience market, but it quickly grew in both fandom and ratings after the show’s unique story arc found a foothold in pop culture.

But despite the audience’s growing love for the cult-classic sci-fi show, Doctor Who suffers from one glaring shortcoming that was as prominent when it first launched in 2005 as it is today. And while the Doctor has shed his visage time and again and his companions have changed through the years, the showrunners behind Who refuse to change one troubling aspect in its creative structure.

The Ending of Stephen King's Original Story for ‘The Monkey’ Is So Much Darker Than in Osgood Perkins' Horror Movie
Image
The Monkey is the latest in a long line of Stephen King adaptations, and the writer is without a doubt one of the most reliable storytellers in the genre. The original short story came from Skeleton Crew, King’s 1985 collection that also included The Mist. Although the foundations of Osgood Perkins’ interpretation of The Monkey are rooted in the short story, there are some major changes made to the original, most notably the ending. Aside from changing the titular monkey’s signature instrument due to Disney, Perkins shifted many of the relationship dynamics in the story, focusing more on the themes of paternity and brotherhood which meant he had to devise a different conclusion. Both versions show the unforgiving nature of the inanimate antagonist, but the conclusion of King’s story feels all the more ominous.

From ‘The Mist’ to ‘The Monkey’: A Guide to Stephen King’s ‘Skeleton Crew’ Adaptations
Image
Presented by Neon’s The Monkey, Bloody Disgusting is celebrating this Friday’s release of Osgood Perkins’ highly anticipated horror with Stephen King Week. Yesterday, Luiz H. C. catalogues his cursed objects. and today, Rachel Reeves dusts off other adaptations from King’s Skeleton Crew.

For some, it was Michael J. Fox holding a copy of Skeleton Crew for his 1988 Read campaign poster that first inspired a read of the Stephen King short story collection. For others, the killer, record-breaking trailer for Neon’s new film The Monkey, written and directed by Osgood Perkins, instigated fingers to flip through pages. Whatever the inciting incident that introduced one to Skeleton Crew, the fact remains that it is a certified Constant Reader classic and a treasure trove of cinematic, eerie, and unsettling tales.

Since the initial release of Skeleton Crew in 1985, several stories have found their way to the screen, with varying degrees of success.

Stephen King Week Begins: Win an Exclusive Resin Sculpt of ‘The Monkey’
Image
Writer-director Osgood Perkins will wind up and let loose The Monkey into theaters nationwide this Friday, February 21st. Neon‘s star-studded Stephen King adaptation is one of the most hyped horror films of the year, having broken records on YouTube and nabbing the stamp of approval from King himself. Our own Meagan Navarro calls it “a delightfully deranged crowd pleaser,” and the early reactions are a strong indication that she’s 100% right.

In anticipation, Bloody Disgusting is hosting Stephen King Week, which includes daily editorials that drum through the ever-evolving world of the best-selling Master of Horror. There will be essays, there will be lists, there will be interviews, there will be podcasts, and … there will be blood. Well, on the images, of course. Critically Acclaimed Horror Filmmaker Reveals Which Stephen King Novel Is the 'Only One' for Him
Image
Stephen King is one of the most prolific and influential authors of all time, and the authority on the horror and sci-fi genre. His books have been adapted into countless films and television projects, some of them even more than once.

Many iconic filmmakers have attempted to adapt King's works, and some of them were successful, like frequent collaborator Mike Flanagan, and others were not on King's favorite list due to the many changes to their material. One horror veteran auteur who hasn't attempted to adapt one of King's works is James Wan, famous for works like Saw, Insidious, and The Conjuring. In a new appearance on The Kingcast, Wan revealed that the "only" novel for him to adapt is one of King's most ambitious works: The Stand.
