The charming Julian can persuade Diana to give the filming team and the people in charge a taste of her skills. She overcomes her fears and performs a sensational freestyle in front of the camera and audience. When Jenny learns this, she intervenes, because she is by no means willing to let a 'run away beginner' steal the show. Diana was shocked. Not only does she have to leave the ice abruptly on Jenny's instructions. She also has to realize that Jenny and Julian are a couple. Although Julian approaches her several times and even invites her to train Steinkamp's young talents, she does not let herself be softened. Only her best friend Annette can finally convince her to overcome her pride and seize the unique opportunity. But the training turns into a gauntlet: Diana is unfocused and makes many mistakes, which Jenny and the other girls mockingly comment on. Diana wants to give up. But then she gets support from an unexpected side.

Diana's joy that Julian defended her against the other participants of the junior team lasts only briefly. Due to Jenny's intervention, Diana now has to prove her talent in front of the jury of the Ice Skating Federation. She has exactly three days until this fateful appointment. Diana is combative and wants to focus exclusively on her training and hide everything else. In fact, after a good day of training, she is optimistic that she will be able to achieve her goals. Diana also thinks she has overcome her feelings for Julian, but her heart does not listen to the mind.

Diana has a hard time not thinking about Julian and instead prepares for the decisive show. When warming up, her tension is unleashed on a supposedly annoying visitor, who turns out to be the president of the ice skating federation. Everything else seems to go wrong on this day as well. Shortly after she has started her freestyle, her CD gets stuck because the music system was secretly manipulated by Jenny. On top of that, her mobbing stepfather appears on the scene.

Despite the numerous mishaps, Diana manages to finish the freestyle. In the faces of Richard Steinkamp and her coach Mike she thinks she can see her failure. But suddenly happiness returns to her: The president of the Ice Skating Federation is delighted with her performance, and Diana is accepted into the training team. At the subsequent party with the Steinkamp family, Diana is celebrated as a new star. In the exuberance of emotions, Diana gives herself completely to the moment and kisses Julian. Vanessa, Jenny's chubby sister, can't even enjoy her parents' party. She is angry and disappointed because everything revolves around her successful sister. Only the joint hunt with her buddy Ben for a supposed burglar, causes a change of mood.

Diana is stunned by her own behavior and can't believe she kissed Julian. She quickly tries to disappear from the party as inconspicuously as possible and runs into Jenny and Julian's arms. Under a flimsy excuse, Diana uses the appearance of Julian's brother Tim to disappear from it. The next morning she wants to talk to Julian. But he has completely different worries at the moment: Tim, whose responsibility has been Julian since the death of his parents, has difficulties with the police, who are already looking for him. Diana fears that Annette's 'tête-à-tête' with Richard could have a negative impact on her ice skating career. A discussion with Annette ends in an open dispute. Diana's efforts to coordinate work and skating are also more difficult than expected. Even good news, such as the inclusion in the squad, turns into the opposite: Dieter learns that his daughter has betrayed him and freaks out; Julian's position as Head of Marketing is once again called into question by Axel, in which he presents his own ideas to Steinkamp. But the boss opts for Julian's idea - which puts him in an even more difficult situation; Ben realizes that he has to come to terms with Tim if he doesn't want to lose Vanessa as a friend. His colleague Axel continues to use every opportunity to discredit Julian in front of the boss. Julian sees only one way out to give Axel a reminder; Tim wants to make a good impression on Julian and tries - successfully - for a job: In the future, he will work as a cleaner in the Steinkamp-center.

Diana loses the battle for the goodwill of her mother, who does not want to renounce the choleric Dieter despite her concern for her daughter. By chance, Julian discovers Diana's quarters in the engine room and Diana has no choice but to tell him about the expulsion and her problems with Dieter. Julian immediately organizes that Diana can stay with the Steinkamps. However, neither Jenny nor Simone take her in a particularly friendly way. When an argument with Annette and a tangible abrasion from her coach Mike are added, Diana breaks down crying; After Julian has managed to expose Axel in front of Richard with the help of a simple trick, Richard decides on Julian's proposal. Meanwhile, Julian's trick is exposed in front of Axel, who then angrily declares war on Julian; Tim stands up for Vanessa and earns more sympathy points.

But Simone, who has observed the incident, has long known about her daughter's offense. She takes matters into her own hands and presents Richard with a cleaning lady as a confessed thief. Too stupid that Axel watches Simone as she hands bribes to the alleged perpetrator; Vanessa confronts Nina for trying to blame Tim for something that has grown on Nina's crap. Blinded by love, Vanessa clearly goes too far in her measures.

Meanwhile, Julian learns that an official of the youth welfare office has announced himself, who wants to look at Tim's living environment. And just when it looks like Julian will lose custody, Diana unexpectedly comes to his aid; Axel's plan to pit Richard and Simone against each other to pursue his own goals seems to be bearing fruit. He receives a chic company car and a new office. When he also manages to gain access to Julian's private computer files, he looks for a new target, inspired by his success: Jenny; Nina is still pissed off by Vanessa's assault and wants to blow the march on the opponent. Unexpectedly, Mike's colleague Ingo crosses her path, whom Nina addresses with a clumsy flirt attempt. When Vanessa sees Nina approaching Ingo, she's running out of patience again.

With a roaring finish, she lets the spectacle fly up in front of the official. Forgotten is Diana's joy that Julian kissed her. But then a comment from Tim triggers real emotional storms in Diana - does have Julian feelings for her?; Nina vents her frustration at Ingo's rebuff to Vanessa and hits her at her sore spot: she blasphemes about Vanessa's excess pounds. Only Ben manages to take away Vanessa's self-doubt. But then Vanessa is again confronted with Tim's superficiality with regard to women and she sees herself without a chance; Jutta takes the first steps to emancipate herself from Dieter. Even if her job interview is not crowned with success, she does not let Dieter's mischievous comments get her down.

But he did to reckon without Simone; Dieter is impressed by Jutta's new self-confidence and suddenly realizes that he has to change himself. He strikes a harder tone towards his spoiled daughter Nina and gets Jutta a romantic gift. Jutta is deeply touched and impressed. Until she finds out how expensive the gift was.

Shocked by Jenny's engagement announcement, Diana flees to Annette and seeks solace in alcohol. In a heavily drunk state, Diana decides to confront Julian. Before she can vent her disappointment, Julian saves her from being run over. He also tells her that he didn't know anything about Jenny's engagement plans. Diana is relieved, but Jenny has long since seen through Diana and tells her on the head that she is in love with Julian; Simone is angry. She has discovered telltale traces of makeup on Richard's shirt. She is again suspected that her husband is cheating on her. Furious, Simone heads towards the center to confront Richard; Tim messes with Simone and collects points again with Vanessa, who is deeply hurt by her mother's disinterest.

Diana tries to overplay her feelings for Julian. To Jenny's horror, Julian has canceled the engagement for the time being. Jenny even wants to reconcile with Tim to change Julian's mind. Instead of addressing Jenny's peace efforts, Tim and Annette concoct a plan that would permanently damage Jenny's reputation with Julian. However, when Diana realizes the drastic consequences of Tim's little prank, Diana gets into a conflict of conscience; Nina gets Tim's old job at the center and sees it as an excellent opportunity to throw herself at Ingo. However, another faux pas by her brings her back down to earth; Simone confronts Richard with her suspicion that he is having an affair. Richard speaks to Simone with angelic tongues. Simone appears to be responding to Richard's statements of innocence. However, she has long known how to find out the truth.

When she desperately announces her move out of the villa, Julian worries about her. In view of the fatal financial situation, Dieter even asks Nina for money with a heavy heart. But she doesn't even think about supporting her family, so Jutta sees no other way out than to sell her antique wedding dress. Dieter, who realizes with concern what the dress means to Jutta, is frustrated and finds out that Diana will soon come to money; After his sobering performance as a singer, Tim follows Vanessa's suggestion and tries to find an apprenticeship as a physiotherapist.

Diana makes a momentous decision; Through an intrigue, Axel succeeds in making Julian's planning for the snack production appear to be damaging to business. Meanwhile, Axel takes Richard's advantage of the tense search for a solution and presents his idea again. Richard himself is under enormous pressure because he has recognized the bitter truth about the Steinkamp-center. Richard unceremoniously commissions Axel to implement his model; Tim fears that Julian will deport him after his wedding.

In order to be able to concentrate even more on ice skating, Diana starts a job at the Steinkamp-center. Simone immediately confronts her with the most difficult of all tasks: Diana is entrusted with the preparations for Jenny's engagement party. And Jenny also uses this opportunity to bully her hated competitor. Diana is supposed to conduct interviews with Jenny and Julian to show the world what a happy couple they are; Simone and Richard disagree on how to deal with the severe financial crisis. Simone relies entirely on the sole support of Jenny, while Richard also sees in Diana the way out of the crisis; Instead of Julian, Vanessa reads Tim's letter to his brother. Meanwhile, Julian tries to suppress his doubts about his relationship with Jenny by all means. But while Diana looks ahead optimistically and tries to see Julian merely as a good friend, his feelings for her change; Simone wants to provoke Richard into a confession about his affair with Nadja. When she realizes that Axel is using his secret knowledge of her shattered married life for his purposes, she ends contact with him. Meanwhile, Nadja clashes violently with Richard during the engagement party; Vanessa offends Ben when she once again prefers Tim's presence. Vanessa shows him very clearly that he is the third wheel. Ben, who is getting angrier and angrier, has found the culprit for his situation: Tim. Ben finds a way to vent his anger.

When Richard learns this and confronts Nadja, he realizes what a huge mistake she has made; Simone and Richard still cannot find a common solution to overcome the financial crisis. Because Richard insists on doing it according to his rules, Simone decides to control her husband.

Diana's lovesick has a negative impact on her skating skills. The demonstrative contributions of her coach Mike are balm for Diana. But as much as Mike mimics the buddy, he actually has something completely different in mind with her: He thinks he can 'comfort' Diana with a one-night stand?; Simone no longer trusts Richard and makes him feel her power as head of the Steinkamp empire sensitively. She takes over the contract negotiation of the power snack sponsorship single-handedly, which has fatal consequences. Richard is the only one who can help her now. Mike apologizes to the horrified Diana for the kiss. When Jenny accuses Diana to sleep way up and Julian does not protect her, Diana is deeply hurt. In addition, Diana learns that Dieter has beaten Jutta. Diana stands helpless in front of her broken family, her difficult training circumstances, and to make matters worse, Grandpa Lutz has cardiac arrhythmia. After Julian, she instructs Mike to persuade Diana to continue her career. Grandpa Lutz enlightens Mike about Diana's past. With this knowledge, Mike makes his way to her; Since Annette has observed Roman and Andrew in a clear situation, Roman fears being publicly outed; With eagle-eyes, Ben follows the growing friendship between Vanessa and Tim. Vanessa imagines that Tim trusts her more than anyone else. Her rapture leads to an argument with Ben, in the course of which she makes an involuntary confession.

But Julian's concern grows, and he sees only one way to save Diana from a health ruin; Vanessa is sure that Tim is the right man for the first time and therefore plans a romantic evening with Tim. But Nina sparks her in between; Dieter asks Jutta to ignore Diana's express wish and take him to the NRW Championships. Jutta hesitates, but remains tough. But Dieter is not so easy to handle.

Simone felt a stone from her heart, because now nothing stands in the way of the saving contract with Müller-Hirschfeld. At the victory celebration in the Steinkamp Villa, Diana and Mike get dangerously close; Dieter uses the party to present himself to BDE President Müller-Hirschfeld as Diana's patron and supporter; Nadja tells Richard that she will leave Essen because she has lost faith that he will ever confess to Ben. Richard is shocked and tries to explain his hesitation to her by the impending bankruptcy. Nadja's decision is promptly shaken.
