At 01:40, the screen where Nina and Stuart Pearson are looking at Tom's grades reads "© Copyright 2008 Sedham High School" in the lower left corner, but at 01:49 it reads "© Copyright 2008 Sedham Middle School".

When Nana kicks Ricky through the basement door it is clear that it has been smashed up although just minutes later when the rest of the kids go down to the basement they open the door which is clearly intact.

When Ricky is controlled by the alien remote and is "on pause" in the kitchen, he is wearing a blue, short sleeve, button down (sewn) shirt and short pants as Bethany confronts him from 46:55 to 47:53. Ricky is next seen at 58:51 when, under control of the alien commander, he barges into the Pearsons' barbecue dinner to get Sparks from Hannah's backpack, but he is wearing a long sleeve, collared, gray, knit, pullover shirt with full-length pants.

When Tom interrupts Hannah's music-listening to ask her to ride in the middle next time, her headphones were on her head (at around 46 mins). Suddenly (at around 47 mins), her headphones are on her shoulders without showing that she had moved them down to her shoulders.

When Tom gets thrown out of the attic window by Ricky, he is wearing white socks that clearly are above his ankles, however, when he lands on the ground from the telegraph/power pole after firing the "mind control plug" into the head alien, he is wearing "no-show" socks. His left foot appears to be sporting no sock, whilst his right shows a "sub-ankle" white sock.

Ricky is seen removing a relay from under his camaro hood to make it inoperative. He is actually pulling the relay for fog lamps / 92-97 camaro. This would not prevent his car from starting.

When Ricky uses the fire extinguisher, he holds the large black nozzle. As it is a CO2 extinguisher, this is one thing you should never do, as you will receive a cold burn from the extremely low temperature.

While Tom is talking to the police, from the telephone, the aliens cut the wires and the call ends but Tom is then able to hear dial tone. Dial tone comes from the telephone company central office. Cutting the wires would not allow Tom to hear a dial tone.

At the end of the fight between Ricky and Nana (at around 1h 02 mins), the control plug is knocked out of Ricky's neck, but at the end of the film, immediately after "The End" appears (at around 1h 19 mins), he is shown at Annie Filkins' house where Bethany and Tom use a controller to control him again.

The kids kept the gun from the aliens and Tom mentioned to Bethany that Ricky's car was broken down and he's not going anywhere. It's likely Tom and Bethany shot Ricky with the gun again and used controls.

In one scene, Ricky is shown eating the key to the basement after locking the door. Later however, the kids open the door normally.

The Illinois license plate on Ricky's car (at 08:37 to 08:39 with a blue tag in the lower right corner reading 03-10) is out of date. The type of license plate on his car has not been used in Illinois since 2001, but the movie clearly appears to be set in the present.

Hannah's teeth change through out the movie. (Ashley Boettcher was obviously loosing her baby teeth.)

The Sheriff is angry that Uncle Nathan has no license plate on the front of his car (at around 1 min), but this is irrelevant because Michigan does not require a front license plate. At 27:53, a blue Michigan plate is shown on the rear of Uncle Nathan's Lincoln Navigator.

When Ricky is frozen when he had the mind control plug in him. He is supposed to be still unless someone is controlling him. But if you watch closely. You can see that he's moving.

Jake is supposed to be Nate's son but Jake is heard calling Nate by his name. Although there could be people calling their parents by their names.
