- Young Man: [Rockford pulls up to the speaker at a Jack in the Box drive-thru] Your order please.
- Jim Rockford: Call the police.
- Young Man: Your order please!
- Jim Rockford: That's it. You got it. There's a guy following me in a white 1974 Datsun, California plates. Tell the police I'll be headed south on Verdugo and for them to intercept.
- Young Man: Are you nuts, mister? Is this a joke?
- Jim Rockford: Just tell them he took a shot at me... and while you're at it could you throw in a taco and a bag of fries?
- Angel Martin: Your beef is with Jimmy, I had nothing to do with this...
- Thompkins: Shut up.
- Angel Martin: I'm just an innocent bystander!
- Thompkins: They're usually the ones who get shot!
- Jim Rockford: This is Jim Rockford. At the tone leave your name and message, I'll get back to you.
- Joseph 'Rocky' Rockford #2: Hi sonny, it's Rocky. I got the bill and I've been trying to figure out what everybody owes on LJ's birthday party. Tell me, did you have the Pink Lady?
- Thompkins: [searching the car Rockford used] Not even a lousy gum wrapper... Check the glove compartment.
- Sy Mosher: Mostly bills.
- Thompkins: Made out to Keil?
- Sy Mosher: Yeah. Some to a newspaper, the rest to a home address.
- [Reads the address aloud, then starts reading the ZIP code]
- Thompkins: I don't need he ZIP code. He's not going on my Christmas card list!
- Dep. DA Burton Kimball: I'm about to suggest that Captain Auden suspend your license for a few months.
- Jim Rockford: Go ahead and suggest it.
- Dep. DA Burton Kimball: He could do it.
- Jim Rockford: Yeah. Yeah, and then I'd appeal and there'd have to be a hearing, and what I've been investigating and why would all have to come out in the open. So unless you're absolutely clean in all this, and I have a hunch you're not, you're gonna have a lot of explaining to do. You wanna finish your conversation?
- Jim Rockford: [to Kate Doyle] You're lying, Burt Kimball's lying, and the two of you ought to watch it. That's the kind of thing that can shake a person's faith in public officials.
- Jim Rockford: Well at least she sounds happy.
- Kate Flanders: Oh you're pretty cavalier about somebody else's money.
- Jim Rockford: So are you.
- Jim Rockford: [2 'representatives' of the Bay City Boys' Club are in Jim's trailer - having gotten in by having Angel knock and bang incessantly, yelling 'it's me, Jimmy, open up'. They don't believe Jim's 2 stories about who he's working for. They tell Jim to get dressed - they're gonna take him for a ride. One guy has a gun on Angel up-front, by the door, the other - also with a gun on Jim - is behind Jim as he leaves the bedroom. When Jim gets by the fridge, he opens the freezer door, then turns around, to fight the guy, and yells for Angel to do likewise] Get him, Angel!
- [Angel - for once - actually does something to help - he turns around on his guy, and bangs him enough, that the 2 men make a getaway, leaving Jim and Angel in the trailer. Jim turns to Angel, and congratulates him]
- Jim Rockford: Hey, all right!
- [Jim pats Angel on the back, who stands there, looking shaken]
- Jim Rockford: All right, Angel! I didn't know you had it in you!
- Angel Martin: I wanna go home!
