In the girl's bedroom, there is a photo of the Three Degrees, from 1975. The Three Degrees themselves were like the Dovettes, a bedroom amateur band in 1963. And the lineup in the photo is the 1967-1976 line-up of Sheila Ferguson, Lafayette Pinkney, Valerie Holiday.
Al's line, "She's got one last chance, Sam; you've got to speak to her father" does not match the movement of his mouth.
