- TriviaThe set used for the house in the pilot is very much different then the one from the rest of the series. For one it's much smaller and less grand plus when one enters the house from the front door all the rooms in the house are to stage right as opposed to stage left in the rest of the series. The house's staircase is a much simpler one and is located just to left the landing of the front door. In addition the exterior shots of the house differ from the rest of the series most notably in that it shows that there are steps that are to be used to to get to the front door. In all other episodes the the house used for the Sheffield residence shows the front door is at street level. When the series went into production producers used a slightly modified yet much grander set left over from the cancelled NBC series The Powers That Be for the Sheffield residence.
- GoofsFran says that "porkeau de pruneau" is French for "pork and prune" when, translated to French, "pork and prune" is actually "porc et pruneau". However, this is incorrectly regarded as a goof: the audience knows that Fran has no higher education and doesn't speak French. This is an obvious character joke and Fran was merely being facetious, poking fun at the fact that she may not be upper-crust and speak French, like those in the snobbish circles she's engaged in, but she can fake it and sound just as pretentious as they do.
- Quotes
Maxwell Sheffield: [looking at Fran's resume] Miss Fine, you seem to have listed the Queen Mother as a reference?
Fran Fine: What? Let me see that.
[walks over to look at what she wrote]
Fran Fine: Oh, no, that's not the Queen Mother. That's my mother from Queen's.
