Dot places an ad in the Personals column of The National Inquisitor.; Amy discovers an embarrassing secret in her family tree; Sonny is dog-sitting a vicious Doberman; Howard tries to get Nancy to give fellow chef Spud a raise.

The reason these syndicated episodes seem so rushed and cluttered is because the writers make the mistake of trying to give equal screen time to all the characters in every episode.
Jan and Dot's mutual reaction after the "asking for panties" line is funny.
The best part of the episode is when Amy, having learned her grandmother was a madam, remarks to a customer, "Out for dinner with Granny? Hope she's not a hooker". It is so unexpected that had the show still been taped live, the audience would have howled.
Nancy has a great reaction when she sees Dot's date is a fifteen-year-old boy. Nancy's wardrobe is less garish in this episode.
Back in the day, tabloids actually did have a small section devoted to Personals.
