Doctors act like children or at best teenagers in between trial and error diagnoses of the dumbest patients ever and the hospital administrator is dumb as a box of rocks ...sure formula for death
Good television for the most part, but sort of beyond the pale. Of course, that's what this show is week after week. The deductiveness of the individuals who are called in at the eleventh hour is what makes the show. That and House and his very being. Here, a sixty-five year old man played by Howard Hesseman needs a new heart. But he is rejected by the panel that makes those decisions. House finds a woman who is dying from a car accident. Her organs are rejected but he still goes after the heart. It is quite intriguing but very unlikely to ever happen. Still, on this show, that is the name of the game.
I love episodes that in one way or another challenge the established formula.
This episode does exactly that, and I loved the twist. Normally, when House finds a solution 15 minutes into the episode, you know he's wrong.
But this time, he's right. The episode then changes, and House is faced with a different challenge: diagnose and cure a dead person so that he can use its organs to save his first patient.
The recurring theme of this episode is sex, and I like the take this episode has on the matter. It's the most un-sexualized sex-centric piece of media I've ever seen. I enjoyed it enough to write a review about it.

Howard Hesseman of WKRP IN CINCINNATI fame plays an aging man suffering from a series of scary symptoms that may be something as simple as a stroke, or something far worse. Pretty soon, it is determined he needs a new heart but no heart is available. House figures out a way to get his dying patient a new heart, but it will come with a heavy toll. The one to watch in this episode is the very appealing young actress Keri Lynn Pratt as Hesseman's doting daughter. Pratt gets off a great line at the very end, so make sure you put on your TV's closed captioning so you won't miss it. By the way, the outlandish manner in which House procures Hesseman's new heart makes for great TV, if totally improbable reality. Be prepared to shed some tears as we follow House in his search for that heart. Meanwhile, Wilson has more or less settled into House's apartment. Or has he? Frat humor abounds as he and House go back and forth about living conditions.

- TriviaThe second time House wears a lab coat.
- GoofsHouse inserts the laryngoscope with blade into the patient's mouth with his right hand. The laryngoscope is strictly a left-handed tool because of the placement of the light on it. This allows visualization of the vocal cords so the endotracheal tube can pass through.
