Rather an odd one this, the plot doesn't progress at all, at least not until the last ten seconds or so.There's still some good stuff though and the low key debut of Barlow sets up future story lines.But when you've got some weak comedy from Neville and Floss and an argument between Tom and Frank that's promptly forgotten about, it's easy to let your attention wander.
Plus points are a rather well done montage of Alf and Ailsa both eating alone and the sequence of Nico getting angry with his cow which aptly demonstrates his mood swings.And Lynn has the sense to get her clothes washed even if she didn't have the sense to bring some spares along. (Teenage fans might be disappointed that the scene of her getting dressed reveals absolutely nothing.)
It's a relief that, by the end of the episode, someone's finally worked out where Lynn is.But you won't miss much if you skip this one.
