Another unfunny episode, full of stupid, ridiculous ideas, thrown haphazardly on a pile in a hope that it would, somehow, make for a coherent, and what is more - funny, episode. So, in no particular order:
There is, now, a Nobel prize for paleontology (an idea from a previous episode, that was reused, instead of being buried in shame and hope that people will forget about it).
Ross was inspired to become a paleontologist by a person who is clearly the same age as him (give or take a year or two). Maybe that is possible because those paleontologist geniuses who get Nobel prizes for paleontology get their PhD at the age of five.
It is now official - the only people who didn't have sex with Phoebe are those who never bothered to have a go at her. Ha ha, hilarious.
Charlie is not just a badly written character, but a terrible person.
Not too many episodes until the end. I wonder will there be a funny one among them.

I love almost all of friends episodes. But this one is definitely among the top 10. It was so funny and everybody was absolutely on fire during this episode.
Binging through all 10 seasons, this one made me laugh the hardest and the most. Not just one very funny scene but several. And a well written episode as usual.
When I was watching it. For some reason, I'm not good at being able to immediately tell when it's from.
However...I know Rachel's baby and Paul Rudd being around means it's at the end.
I didn't realize Aisha Taylor was so near the end.
I think I had stopped watching the episodes new after about 1998 or so, so I didn't have the same relationship with them.
This was way before DVR, so if I missed the episode or didn't tape it with my VCR, I had to hope to catch it that same season in a rerun...or wait for the season on vhs which would have been what...3/4 years later? How time's have changed.
Anyway. Damn...I didn't realize how bad the show got. Writing, awful. Acting, awful.
Just showing up and going through the motions at this point...from writing to directing to acting.
What's the point of quality if we're making money...we have enough viewers...and the end is near. Forget it.
The scene where Monica goes to Phoebe's really struck me. I was like...how old are they and acting like this? Almost 40?
The schticks were funnny as late 20's early to mid 30's...but yeah. Wears thin.
And I remember them ruining ross, and then pulling it back. But they basically made him... Great to begin...then whiny and nerdy...then annoying...then impotent.
A 7 would be worth rewatching...so no.
A 6 I could watch again if nothing else was on. I have no desire to ever watch this episode again. A handful of good parts, but not worth 20 minutes of anyone's time.
A 5 it is.

- TriviaJoey's men's lipstick commercial is an inside joke about how some famous actors made some embarrassingly funny commercials in Japan back in the 1980's and 90's. Several big name actors (like Tom Cruise) made similar Japanese commercials (for very large sums of money) on the assumption that since they would only be seen in Japan, no one in the West would ever see them. This was before the creation of YouTube, and some of these commercials have since been resurrected.
- GoofsRoss' grant application is judged by Charlie's ex-boyfriend Dr Hobart, who tries to force Ross to break up with her as a condition of receiving the grant. In real life, to avoid exactly that sort of abuse, research grants (whether privately or government funded) are anonymous: reviewers never know who wrote a grant application, and applicants never know who the reviewers were, precisely to avoid that sort of conflict of interest.
