The story begins with Cheyenne on the run from the law. Seems he was convicted of murder (not just arrested) and evidently had a trial and then escaped. We are not given the details at the start, and I won't divulge them here.
He meets up with a single woman and for their mutual benefit, they pretend to be married in order to board a train headed West. Also on the train is James Garner playing a preacher and his "spinster" sister. Perhaps there is a romance to blossom on the train. Perhaps not just one romance.
To say this story is action-packed is an understatement. Add to it some escapes, hostile indians, a speeding train, gunplay, revenge. What more could be packed into 45 minutes?
