That's an early Cuckoo.
The paintings are located inside a statue in the rooms of General Von Klinkerhoffen, a party hosted by him is the perfect opportunity to pinch them, a plan to get them is put into action, only things don't go smoothly.
It's so physically funny, it genuinely does contain some real laugh out loud scenes. The cast look hilarious, Madame Edith in her suit, Rene complete with moustache in a dress.
It is one of the funniest of the series with some great moments,.it has gotten more and more outrageous as it's gone on. Monsieur Leclerc playing the bass back to front, Ken Morley's camp character, and of course the walking piano. The Cuckoo clock was so funny.
At times this series has felt a bit tired, the fact that it's basically too long, that hasn't been the case with the last few, it has been at the very top of it's game. Hopefully the finale is as good.
Great. 9/10
