7 Lewis Pullman Movies You Have to Watch if You Liked Him in ‘Thunderbolts*’ (‘The New Avengers’)
Image
The world just saw Lewis Pullman crush it as Robert Reynolds, aka Sentry, in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s recent installment, Thunderbolts* (The New Avengers). Lewis is no stranger to the spotlight, being the son of acting legend Bill Pullman. However, he has made his own path with his performances in indie gems and blockbuster hits.

He started his career with short films, Westerns, and horrors, and one thing that can be said about his filmography is that the actor has got range. Lewis has brought a sort of quiet charisma and intensity to most of his roles, and if you have liked the way he portrayed Bob/Sentry/Void in Thunderbolts*, here are 10 of his movies that also deserve your attention.

‘Salem’s Lot (2024)

Salem’s Lot is the movie adaptation of Stephen King’s classic novel. Lewis Pullman stars as a writer named Ben Mears who returns to his hometown...

The Strangers (2008) vs. The Strangers: Chapter 1 (2024)
Image
What makes fear seep into the very marrow of our bones? Few films manage to penetrate this question, but when they do, they become unforgettable. In 2008, The Strangers answered the call with eerie simplicity, capturing an atmosphere of dread that’s as inescapable as it is haunting. It cemented itself as a modern horror classic, forcing us to confront a truth so unnerving it feels invasive: we are never truly safe. Fast forward fifteen years to The Strangers: Chapter 1—a reimagining that aims to expand and evolve the story for today’s audience. But does it achieve the same level of terror? Or does it sacrifice what made its predecessor so menacingly effective? While Chapter 1 brings fresh ideas, it’s the raw, almost primal simplicity of The Strangers (2008) that continues to strike the deepest nerve. In today’s episode of Horror Revisited, we’re not here to discuss one...

The Real Reason Mark Harmon's Gibbs Doesn't Lock His Front Door In NCIS
Image
There are all different kinds of living spaces in this great big world of ours, but it's fair to say that most homes, regardless of type, have a front door. In many cases, this is the most frequently passed threshold in your abode, but depending on the size of your home and how it's situated, you may use other entries more often. For those who drive to and from work every day, the garage door is likely to receive the most foot traffic. If you live in an upscale apartment building, the elevator door may also be your front door. And if you reside in stately Wayne Manor, it's the Batcave all day, every day, unless you're having company.

As you likely know, there are several important features of a front door: e.g. the knob, the peephole, and, of course, the hinges. But the most vital feature of a...

If The Purge had you hooked, you’re definitely not alone. The film’s eerie premise, where all crime, including murder, is legal for 12 hours, became a chilling look at the breakdown of society and what happens when law and order vanish. Released in 2013, The Purge blended home-invasion horror with a dystopian twist, capturing audiences with its high-stakes tension and unsettling exploration of human nature.

It wasn’t just another slasher film; it was a commentary on class, violence, and the darkest corners of society. The movie’s success was immediate, grossing over $300 million worldwide, and it quickly developed a cult following.

A still from The Purge | Credits: Universal Pictures

For fans who craved more of that same thrilling mix of paranoia, tension, and survival, there’s good news. There are plenty of other films that dive into similar themes of lawlessness, home invasions, and dystopian chaos.

New Beatles Movie Stars Paul Mescal, Barry Keoghan, Joseph Quinn, and Harris Dickinson
Image
Wait, what? Sony Pictures has announced the cast of The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event, directed by Sam Mendes, and it's impressive. Harris Dickinson (John Lennon), Paul Mescal (Paul McCartney), Barry Keoghan (Ringo Starr), and Joseph Quinn (George Harrison) will star in four interconnected movies, all coming to theaters in April 2028. It's being called the first "bingeable" movie experience. The project marks the first time Apple Corps Ltd. and The Beatles – Paul McCartney, Ringo Starr, and the families of John Lennon and George Harrison – have granted full life story and music rights for a scripted film. The logline is simple:

Each man has his own story, but together they are legendary. The Beatles – A Four-Film Cinematic Event.

Sam Mendes and the four stars took the stage at CinemaCon, along with Sony chief Tom Rothman. Each of the four stars quotes a line from “Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band,...

Eat the Rich: 7 Satisfying Horror Films that Skewer the Elite
Image
In the new dark horror-comedy from A24, Death of a Unicorn, absurdity meets the macabre in a deliciously fantastical fashion. The feature debut by director-writer Alex Scharfman, the movie centers around a father (Paul Rudd) and daughter (Jenna Ortega) who accidentally hit and kill a unicorn while driving to his billionaire boss’s estate. Upon arrival, their host (Richard E. Grant) and his insufferable family become eager to exploit the unicorn’s body for its magical, medicinal properties. As the story unfolds, Death of a Unicorn pokes fun at the elite, reminding us that sometimes the upper crust does actually get a taste of its own medicine—and, in this case, a little extra horn to boot.

As a genre, horror has long offered filmmakers the perfect conduit to interrogate and explore issues of greed, capitalism, systemic inequality, and the often ruthless nature of the elite. With the ability to...

Saw 11 Officially Pulled From Release Calendar, Another Horror Sequel Takes Its Place
Image
A once pulse-pounding horror franchise has flatlined. Jigsaw's next killing spree was officially shelved on Monday after Lionsgate removed Saw 11 from its schedule and swapped in horror sequel The Strangers: Chapter 2 in its place.

Originally intended for a Fall 2024 release, the sequel was punted to the Sept. 26, 2025 date that The Strangers sequel now inherits. Despite the track record of delays, the latest puts the franchise's future in flux. Production warfare has plagued the project since its Spring 2024 announcement. Saw 11 co-writer Patrick Melton provided insight into the stall, telling The Hollywood Reporter:

“The reason it’s held up is just, there’s inter-squabbling between producers and Lionsgate. They just can’t quite get on the same page.”

Producers Can't Crack Jigsaw Puzzle, Lionsgate Silently Kills Saw 11 "It's 100% Over."

The grim update gets bleaker. According to Bloody Disgusting, a source "verified as being close to the production of its newest sequel.

New ‘Final Destination: Bloodlines’ Trailer Highlights Tony Todd's Last Performance
Image
It’s been 14 years, but finally the last stop is here. Today, the official trailer for Final Destination: Bloodlines has pulled into the station, reigniting the flames of the long-running franchise which last graced our screens back in 2011. It’s been a long time since that wild twist at the end of Final Destination 5 revealed the film to be a prequel to the 2000 movie that started it all, and now we finally have the next chapter. Co-helmed by Zach Lipovsky and Adam Stein, the feature brings the filmmakers behind the live-action Kim Possible film and Freaks back together to do what they do best — hitting audiences with some serious trauma.

Today’s trailer better spells out the story that will unfold when Final Destination: Bloodlines collides with cinemas on May 16. This time, fate’s twisted game of death will follow a family, as one of its members does her...

Saw XI (2025)
Saw XI removed from its September release slot
Saw XI (2025)
Days after reports emerged about terminal problems with Saw XI, the horror sequel has been pulled from its September release slot.

Last week saw reports that horror sequel Saw XI was in trouble due to behind-the-scenes disagreements. Those stories now appear to have been borne out, to a degree, by the news that Lionsgate has removed the horror sequel from its release calendar.

Saw XI was originally scheduled to appear in US cinemas on the 26th September; that slot has now been filled by a different kind of scare-fest: The Strangers – Chapter 2, according to Variety.

The box office success of Saw X in 2023 seemed to have put the long-running splatter franchise back on track, and Lionsgate wasted little time in announcing a sequel. That follow-up was originally scheduled for 2024, echoing the annual turnaround the Saw movies often stuck to when their popularity was at its height in the 2000s.

The 2024 release was pushed back,...

‘The Strangers – Chapter 2’ Takes Over ‘Saw XI’s Release Date
Image

Well, that didn’t take long. Just days after Saw XI‘s screenwriter Patrick Melton confirmed to The Hollywood Reporter there’s trouble brewing behind the scenes, Lionsgate has removed the upcoming addition to the Saw franchise from its 2025 calendar. The vacated September 26, 2025 spot will now be occupied by The Strangers – Chapter 2.

“We haven’t heard anything since May,” stated Melton in an interview with THR. “It’s stalled at a managerial level. It has nothing to do with the creative or anything else. There’s higher-level things at play.”

The second entry in the planned The Strangers reboot trilogy stars Madelaine Petsch, Gabriel Basso, and Ema Horvath. Renny Harlin directs from a screenplay by Alan R. Cohen and Alan Freedland.

They're Back! 'The Strangers: Chapter 2' Sets Release Date With Bloody First Image
Image
Renny Harlin's home invaders are coming back for more. With the announcement that Saw XI was cut out of Lionsgate's release schedule for this year, The Strangers: Chapter 2 has taken over its September 26 release date. The follow-up to Harlin's remake last year, The Strangers: Chapter 1, celebrated the announcement with a haunting new image showing a bloody Madelaine Petsch with a massive messy scar. Though it will hit theaters later than imagined, the Riverdale star assured that the wait will be worth it in an official statement, saying, "I promise that we’re making The Strangers: Chapter 2 as terrifying as possible, and I can’t wait to show you on September 26."

Little is known about Chapter 2 aside from where the first film left viewers off. Chapter 1 was a mostly straightforward remake of the original 2008 film starring Liv Tyler and Scott Speedman, with Petsch and Froy Gutierrez playing young...

'Saw XI’ Just Got Slashed Off Lionsgate’s Release Calendar
Image
Like the extremities of one of Jigsaw's victims, Saw XI has been sliced off the release calendar. The Hollywood Reporter has the news that the troubled horror sequel will no longer be released on September 26, 2025. It has been ceded to an entry in another long-running horror franchise: The Strangers: Chapter 2 will now see a wide release on that date.

It was previously reported last week that Saw XI, the follow-up to 2023's franchise-reviving Saw X, was effectively dead at Lionsgate after coming to a standstill amid squabbling among its producers. The removal of the film from the release calendar would seem to confirm that, but Lionsgate insists that, unlike John Kramer, the movie isn't as dead as it appears. In a statement purported to be from series mascot Billy the Puppet, the studio stated that "I’ve seen the rumors. They say it’s Game Over. You all...

Madelaine Petsch’s latest Instagram story hints at The Strangers: Chapter 2 release
Image
03/24/2025 Update: The Strangers: Chapter 2 has been given a Sept. 26, 2025 release date by Lionsgate. It looks like Petsch was really hinting about a release date announcement!

We have some potentially promising news to share about the second installment in the new The Strangers trilogy. Lead actress Madelaine Petsch recently shared an intriguing Instagram story, sparking speculation that The Strangers: Chapter 2 might be arriving soon. This update comes just five months after the thrilling teaser trailer dropped. While there’s no official release date yet for The Strangers: Chapter 2, Petsch’s latest Instagram post suggests that more details—or even a release date—could be announced soon.

The first installment of the horror trilogy, The Strangers: Chapter 1, was released in theaters back in May 2024. The horror flick was directed by Renny Harlin and written by Alan R. Cohen and Alan Freedland. The story centered around Maya and Ryan,...

'The Strangers 2' Replaces 'Saw XI,' but Jigsaw Looks Set to Return
Image
The Saw franchise appeared to have come to an end with recent reports that trouble behind the scenes had seen Saw XI ensnared in a trap it could not escape from. However, despite that, and Lionsgate replacing the movie with The Strangers: Chapter 2 in the slot earmarked for it, it looks like it is not “game over” for the franchise yet.

Just like in the movies, it looks like Jigsaw and Billy the Puppet could be about to defy the odds and return again…just a little later than originally planned. While The Hollywood Reporter revealed that Saw XI seems to have now officially lost its September 26 slot to the next movie in The Strangers franchise, both Lionsgate and one of the Saw franchise’s creepy stars seem to be confident that the franchise is not over, just on hiatus.

Lionsgate shared a statement from Billy the Puppet, the...

‘The Strangers: Chapter 2’ to Slash into Theaters This September
Image
Lionsgate’s franchise reboot The Strangers: Chapter 1 kicked off a new trilogy of terror last year and is now set to continue this September with The Strangers: Chapter 2, revealed today by the film’s social media channels.

The Strangers: Chapter 2 is taking over the spot Lionsgate previously designated for Saw XI: September 26, 2025.

In The Strangers: Chapter 1, “After their car breaks down in an eerie small town, a young couple are forced to spend the night in a remote cabin. Panic ensues as they are terrorized by three masked strangers who strike with no mercy and seemingly no motive.”

The Strangers: Chapter 2 will continue the story of Madelaine Petsch’s character, Maya, who survived the events of The Strangers: Chapter 1.

“I promise that we’re making The Strangers: Chapter 2 as terrifying as possible, and I can’t wait to show you on September 26,” Petsch said in an announcement video.

Saw XI removed from Lionsgate’s release schedule; The Strangers: Chapter 2 will take its place
Image
Given the drama surrounding Saw XI, it should come as no surprise that Lionsgate has removed the film from its release schedule. It was previously slated to hit theaters on September 26th, but the project has been held up for close to a year. Renny Harlin’s The Strangers: Chapter 2 will take over the date.

Given the critical and commercial success of Saw X, it was a no-brainer that the studio quickly got the ball rolling on a sequel. Kevin Greutert was slated to return to direct from a script by Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan. However, reports emerged last week that the project had been cancelled. “It’s totally dead. It’s 100% over. Almost a year now,” said the source. “Everything went sideways in January 2024 … the producers started fighting.“

‘Saw XI’ Taken Off 2025 Release Calendar
Image
Jigsaw won’t be returning to theaters in 2025 after all.

“Saw XI” has been axed from the release calendar. Lionsgate’s gory slasher, the 11th installment in the long-running franchise, was scheduled to open on Sept. 26, 2025. The studio will instead release another blood-soaked horror film, “The Strangers – Chapter 2,” on the newly freed date.

It’s not clear if Lionsgate has plans to unveil “Saw XI” at any point. The studio greenlit the sequel in 2023 with franchise veteran Kevin Greutert on board to direct. Yet the film’s screenwriters Patrick Melton and Marcus Dunstan recently told the Hollywood Reporter that “zero progress” had been made since they turned in a draft in the spring of 2024.

Billy the Puppet, the ventriloquist dummy used by John “Jigsaw” Kramer in “Saw,” is apparently well versed in these reports, which he dismisses as idle chatter. The spooky doll promises he’ll eventually return to theaters.

‘The Strangers: Chapter 2’ Going This Fall Instead Of ‘Saw XI’
Image
Lionsgate’s The Strangers: Chapter 2 will open in theaters on Sept. 26, 2025.

Saw XI, which had the date, has been moved off the calendar for the time being.

The first movie, Strangers: Chapter 1, debuted last May, and was one of the better-performing movies for Lionsgate in 2024, making $35.2M domestic, $48.1M worldwide.

In Chapter 2, Renny Harlin directs Riverdale‘s Madelaine Petsch as well as Gabriel Basso and Ema Horvath. Producers are Courtney Solomon, Mark Canton, Christopher Milburn, Gary Raskin, Alastair Burlingham, Charlie Dombek on the horror franchise movie. Alan R. Cohen & Alan Freedland wrote the screenplay.

The Strangers movie franchise kicked off in 2008 at Focus Features and starred Liv Tyler in the Bryan Bertino directed-and-written movie. That pic followed James Hoyt and Kristen McKay who visit an isolated vacation home only to encounter a rude surprise when three masked assailants make their stay a nightmare. The movie was massive on a...

‘Saw XI’ Removed From Lionsgate Calendar as ‘Strangers: Chapter 2’ Takes Its Slot (Exclusive)
Image
Saw XI has been officially cut from Lionsgate’s release calendar — but that doesn’t mean the franchise is dead yet.

The Hollywood Reporter can exclusively report that the planned sequel in the horror franchise, which had been slated to hit theaters on Sept. 26, has been removed from that date. This follows Patrick Melton, a writer on the movie, telling THR in a story published last week that there has been “inter-squabbling” between producers and Lionsgate.

On Monday, Lionsgate shared a cheeky statement from Billy the Puppet, the ventriloquist dummy used in the films by the character John Kramer, aka Jigsaw: “I’ve seen the rumors. They say it’s Game Over. You all should know me better than that. The game is never over.”

In a twinned move, The Strangers: Chapter 2 is now set for wide theatrical release on Sept. 26. Madelaine Petsch reprises her role in the...

The ‘Final Destination’ Films, Ranked from Worst to Best
Image
Like it or not, 2025 is rapidly becoming the Year of the Freak Accident.

In horror, everybody from audiences who loved “The Monkey” to that very flammable fellow in “The Rule of Jenny Pen” is feeling it. But there’s even more to come when “Final Destination” — the genre’s most criminally underrated supernatural franchise — returns with scads more not-so-accidental deaths on May 16.

The aughts used to get a bad rap in pop culture, but that’s improved somewhat in recent years. As filmmakers have released their death-grip obsession on the ’80s, familiar faces and franchises from throughout the 2000s have reemerged across all types of movies and TV. Right now, for example, you can see the forty-something “Veronica Mars” dating that forty-something guy from “The O.C.” in a rom-com on Netflix that’s been wildly popular — in spite of the title “Nobody Wants This.”

When it comes to nostalgia for aughts-era nightmares,...

Borderline Review: A Twisted Thriller That Doesn’t Quite Cut Deep Enough
Image
Borderline wants to be a chaotic thrill ride—a pulpy, twisted home-invasion thriller where a deranged stalker traps a pop star in his delusion of love. And in flashes, it gets there. But for a movie with such an unhinged premise, it feels strangely restrained, like it’s holding back when it should be cranking the tension up to eleven. The performances are solid, the setup is fun, and Penny (Alba Baptista) nearly steals the whole show, but Borderline never fully embraces the madness it promises.

Written and directed by Jimmy Warden in his feature debut, the film is set in 1990s Los Angeles and follows Sofia (Samara Weaving), a pop star whose home is invaded by Duerson (Ray Nicholson), an obsessive fan convinced they are destined to be together. Duerson isn’t working alone—his equally deranged accomplices, Penny and J.H. (Patrick Cox), broke out of a psychiatric facility with him,...

Review: Invader is a Snapshot of a Home Invasion Thriller
Image
Mickey Keating is a wide-eyed student of horror cinema. Each of his films is an homage to a subgenre, loaded with well-studied influences. Hitchcock, Carpenter, and others make stylistic cameos in films like Darling and Offseason, with his latest—Invader—giving us Keating's take on home invasions. It's a tight 68 minutes that echoes Funny Games, The Strangers, and even Adam Mason's Hangman, but in its stripped-raw approach, struggles to captivate as a blustery snapshot of a grander account.

Vero Maynez stars as Ana, a woman in transit heading to her cousin's house in the Chicago suburbs. Things get dodgy when Ana can't contact her family, nor does Camila (Ruby Vallejo) show up at her grocery store job. Ana teams with Camila's coworker Carlo (Colin Huerta) to investigate her disappearance, which leads to a horrifying discovery—a beer-swigging, gimp-suit-dressing invader has taken over Camila's residence. Without hesitation, Ana jumps into...

'Everyone Is Going to Die' Review: This Bold, Devastating Horror Thriller Pulls No Punches
Image
A father and a daughter find themselves threatened in their own home by two masked strangers. Based on those bare-bone facts alone, it's easy to assume that Everyone Is Going to Die is simply a modern-day rehash of perennial home invasion classics like The Strangers or Funny Games. Even though horror can be the most daring, inventive, and socially relevant genre on the planet, it also falls prey to the same trappings as any other media category: churning out repetitive junk. We assume we know how this tragedy will play out, and little about Everyone Is Going to Die's first third seems to disabuse viewers of that notion — although the atmospheric shot compositions, the sonically low drone of composer Si Begg's score, and the ruthlessly apprehensive pacing via editor Andy Edwards quickly correct any negative assumptions about the film's quality.

Kelsey Asbille in Don't Move (2024)
Don’t Move—Seriously. Netflix Just Dropped a Nightmare-Inducing Horror Movie of 2024
Kelsey Asbille in Don't Move (2024)
Horror fans, prepare yourselves—”Don’t Move” (2024) is now streaming on Netflix, and it’s one of the most intense survival horror films I’ve seen in a while. If you love edge-of-your-seat tension, terrifying villains, and the kind of horror that lingers in your mind long after the credits roll, this is a must-watch.

What Is “Don’t Move” (2024) About?

Directed by Adam Schindler and Brian Netto, Don’t Move stars Kelsey Asbille (Yellowstone), Finn Wittrock (American Horror Story), and David Spade in a chilling departure from his usual comedic roles.

The premise is terrifyingly simple yet utterly gripping:

A ruthless serial killer injects a grieving woman with a paralytic agent. She has only minutes before her body completely shuts down. Her only chance at survival? Running, hiding, and fighting back—before she can’t move at all.

It’s a nightmare scenario that plays out in real time, making every second feel like an eternity.

The Terrifying Indie Horror Movie That Completely Flipped the Tired Home Invasion Film Script
Image
When the chilling installments of Funny Games or The Strangers came out, the home invasion horror genre turned its heels from its early crime roots of robberies gone wrong to the more ominous idea of truly senseless violence. This concept has become increasingly popular in the genre, and the recent Last Straw is an indie horror that taps into this brutality then abruptly flips the script and shoves us into the perspective of the assailants. Turns out, watching how people are driven to these depths of depravity is just as scary as killers with no motivations, especially under Alan Scott Neal's aggressive and mean direction. Though the multiple POVs subvert our expectations in Last Straw, the violence in this grimy yet comforting little diner is still senseless, force-fed to us with a fork jammed down our dry throats.

Peacock Cancels James Wan-Produced Horror Series “Teacup” After One Season
Rob Morgan in Teacup (2024)
Despite being praised by critics as one of the best horror series of 2024, Peacock has canceled “Teacup” after one season, Variety reports this afternoon.

The series debuted in October 2024 and was executive produced by James Wan and inspired by Robert McCammon’s Stinger.

It followed a disparate group of people on a ranch who must come together in the face of a mysterious threat in order to survive. As the showrunner previously revealed, it was only loosely based on the novel that inspired it, instead opting for a more cerebral, paranoid take on the material.

Scott Speedman (The Strangers), Yvonne Strahovski (“The Handmaid’s Tale”), and Chaske Spencer (“Jessica Jones”, The Twilight Saga), Kathy Baker, Boris McGiver, Caleb Dolden, Emilie Bierre, Luciano Leroux star in “Teacup.”

As I wrote in my review, “The inaugural season is self-contained, trapping its characters in a claustrophobic bubble of oncoming terror and interpersonal drama. It...

Lionsgate to release SteelBook edition of Adam Wingard's You're Next
Image
One of the most entertaining horror films released in 2013 was You’re Next, written by Simon Barrett and directed by Adam Wingard. It was a great mix of action, slasher horror and comedy, and it’s now one of the movies Wingard is known for.

Lionsgate has just announced that You’re Next is getting the 4K Uhd SteelBook treatment. The SteelBook for You’re Next includes 4K Ultra HD, Blu-ray and digital at a pre-order price of $39.99, only on Lionsgate Limited, which is their direct-to-consumer site.

You’re Next is about an extremely dysfunctional family getting together for a special dinner at their isolated vacation home in Missouri. Parents Aubrey and Paul are joined by sons Crispian, Drake and Felix, and daughter Aimee. Also along for the ride are the siblings’ significant others, including Crispian’s girlfriend Erin.

It’s almost immediately evident through their interactions that this family has some serious issues,...

Originally set to receive a theatrical release from Paramount in August of 2025, Vicious was pushed up to February 28th – but now, Deadline reports that the film has been pulled off of Paramount’s release schedule completely. They say, “The studio is looking to find a better date for the film.”

Scripted by Bertino, Vicious sees Fanning taking on the role of a young woman who is left a strange present by a late-night visitor, and quickly realizes she is fighting for her life after slipping down a disturbing rabbit hole contained inside the gift.

Cruel Intentions, Prime Video's reboot of the cult classic 1999 film, is out in the wild, and fans are having a feast, eating up all the scandalous and salacious schemes of the depraved students at Manchester College, where young sociopaths are groomed to become the future leaders of America. Thankfully, all the manipulations and backbiting are handled with a satirical edge and comedic sensibilities that keep the show from getting too upsetting or disturbing for viewers.

The ensemble cast of Cruel Intentions includes Brooke Lena Johnson, who plays Beatrice Worth, a fiery student who decides to take on the entire "Greek System" of frat and sorority houses. She's motivated partially out of populist righteousness, but also petty revenge, since she wasn't allowed membership into her favored sorority house.

A.P. Bio Cast & Character Guide
Image
The former NBC sitcom A.P. Bio has a robust cast full of hilarious main and supporting characters. Mike O'Brien of Saturday Night Live acclaim created the original sitcom, which first premiered on February 1, 2018. The show is centered around professor turned high-school teacher Jack Griffin, who is played by Glenn Howerton of It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. A.P. Bio follows Jack as he transitions from being a philosophy professor at Harvard University to an A.P. Biology teacher at his hometown high school after falling from grace due to a YouTube video.

A.P. Bio ran for two seasons on NBC before moving to Peacock for its final two seasons. The series was canceled twice even though it maintained an impressive Rotten Tomatoes score of 88%, with its second and third seasons earning perfect 100% critic scores. Despite the positive reviews of A.P. Bio, there was not enough consistent viewership for the series to continue past four seasons.

The Beast: Renny Harlin directing action flick starring Samuel L. Jackson and Joel Kinnaman
Image
Deadline reports that Renny Harlin will direct The Beast, starring Samuel L. Jackson. In fact, Harlin is already halfway through the eight-week shoot in Madrid and Spain’s Canary Islands, and he wasn’t even the original director. James Madigan, second unit director on The Meg, was previously set to helm the action flick. No reason was given for his exit.

The Beast refers to the Presidential limousine, which is an impenetrable tank stocked with grenades, shotguns, armour plating, and bullet-and-bombproofing. In addition to Jackson, The Beast also stars Joel Kinnaman (Suicide Squad) and Guy Burnett (Oppenheimer). “When a militia of unidentified hostiles coordinates a coup against the U.S. presidency, the President (Jackson) uncovers the extent of The Beast’s highly classified offensive capabilities,” reads the synopsis of The Beast. “Separated from his wife, the President must learn to control The Beast — and the monster inside himself — in order to save his life,...

11 Cat & Mouse Horror Films You Should Watch
Image
It’s the official season of the macabre and the weird , folks. Therefore, people are scrambling to assemble their watch lists for Halloween because some people like to stay in. And sure, I think watching Halloween (1978) every year as a tradition is a great way to spend the holiday. I also think that trying something new is great too, and that means a specific set of recommendations. What exactly? Cat and mouse horror movies.

Cat and mouse is one of those heart pounding subgenres in horror. Watching people be relentlessly pursued and have to hide from a threat is terrifying. And that’s more specifically if it’s executed properly. Adding one of the following films to your watchlist might make for a bloody good time. So kick back and get ready because these cat and mouse horror films are stressful (in the best way).

The start of the home invasion in The Strangers (2008)

I don’t think anyone took a breath the entire scene. We collectively gasped when he appears behind her and we all screamed when she opens the shades and sees him up close on the other side of the window. It’s a masterfully orchestrated scene, from the use of handheld long takes to the haunting Joanna Newsom song and Liv Tyler’s pitch-perfect performance. From this scene on, all the idle whispering and chatter disappeared as the movie held the audience by the throat.
