Why did this have to end?

This is one of the numerous(though most take very little time, and this is definitely no exception; in fact, at 27 seconds(!), it's the very shortest, not counting TV spots and such) extras on the DVD for Shaun of the Dead. More specifically, it's a re-enactment of an instantly recognizable scene from the film, and the comedic duo are indeed playing it straight. Only one thing is different. Frost does an impersonation of Sean Connery, and Simon Pegg does an absolutely uncanny Michael Cain impression. This clearly lasts exactly as long as it can without the 2 leads cracking up, and it is no wonder that they do. It's this kind of joking around on set, among many other things, that enable cast and crew to endure the many long and hard days of working on a movie, by lowering the tension. And it is also hilarious for us fans to see, and heck, maybe the veteran, iconic actors(from Great Britain, although they are famous around the world) both enjoy seeing this kind of thing. After so many years in the business, one would hope they've developed a sense of irony about themselves. There is no language, violence or gore in this. I recommend this to any fan of the flick. 10/10

Comedy Short featuring Simon Pegg and Nick Frost.

This is a reenactment of the scene from 'Shaun of the Dead' in Shaun's flat, when he and Ed lay out their game plan. The lines are all the same, however Nick Frost does an impersonation of Sean Connery, and Simon Pegg does a dead-on impression of Michael Caine. The short is named for Connery & Caine's 'The Man Who Would Be King'. It's worth watching just for the look on Simon Pegg's face as he tries desperately not to burst into laughter. It almost looks like he's holding back tears. This, like all of the extra features on the American DVD release, makes me envious of anyone who was lucky enough to work on the set of 'Shaun of the Dead'. It must have been a riot.

About the Shaun Of The Dead movie.

hey, i'm a dutch kid and i'm totally fond of English people. That's why I might be the only one in my surrounding area's who speaks English at my age. I'm a total fan of Simon Pegg and I saw most of his movies and series, and when I see a DVD of a movie with him acting in it, I just MUST see it, and I can't see why no other must. This is a movie very apart, but that is just making it even better! It's a horror movie with zombies and all, that's fun for the ones who like that, but it's a romantic comedy too. You wouldn't really expect that combination would be a success, but as great as the English are, it is one. The humor is very good for every one, even for the ones who hate comedy. The graphics can't be better, and it keeps you from going anywhere as the movie is playing. Sometimes it makes you cry, but sometimes it makes you laugh of your chair, because the English comedy, is the best comedy.

    Try not to laugh

This will be the shortest video that I have ever reviewed on the IMDb, at a whopping 36 seconds or so. It is nothing but Pegg and Frost reenacting one of the scenes from the film, with Frost impersonating Sean Connery and Pegg giving a remarkable impression of Michael Caine. I don't know why, but for some reason anytime I see this kind of behind the scenes stuff, with the actors rehearsing or messing around and, most importantly, struggling not to laugh while they deliver their lines, it is unbelievable how funny it is. Consider, for example, the Saturday Night Live DVD of Will Farrell's. There is a scene in there somewhere with the cast performing as a group of eager young army recruits, trying not to laugh as Old Gus Chiggin's begins making comments. I laughed harder than I can remember when I watched that, and this short video has some of the same material. My only wish is that it was a little longer!
