Season 1 of "Reacher" ended in much the same way as most of Lee Child's Jack Reacher novels: with the eponymous ex-military police officer hitch-hiking out of town. As Blind Blake's "Police Dog Blues" plays out over the closing shots and the bluesman croons the refrain, "All my life I've been a travelin' man," Prime Video's hugely popular series hammers home the point that Jack Reacher doesn't stay in one place too long.
Before leaving the fictional town of Margrave, Georgia, Alan Ritchson's Reacher makes sure to visit Willa Fitzgerald's Roscoe Conklin to reveal, in particularly grandiose fashion, that "A hundred thousand years ago there were people who stayed by the campfire and people who wandered. I'm pretty sure I'm a direct descendent of the wandering type." But Reacher is, of course, descended solely from the pen of Lee Child, who envisioned the character as a sort...

Warning: contains major spoilers for Unforgotten Series 4.
Two years on, we’re still not over Nicola Walker’s shock departure from Unforgotten.
When Walker’s character Dci Cassie Stuart – the ITV crime drama’s much-loved lead detective – was involved in a car crash in the penultimate episode of Series Four in 2021, she was expected to miraculously pull through… and then didn’t. The brain injuries Cassie sustained in the side-on smash with a speeding car thief were too severe for her to recover from.
Fans watched in shock as Cassie’s family received the news in hospital, and colleague Di Sunny Khan ended the series by placing flowers on her grave, accompanied by a touching monologue. “She longest lives, who most to others gives, herself forgetting” read the inscription on the headstone.
Khan wasn’t the only one in mourning, Unforgotten’s fans also grieved the shock loss of the character.

Machine Gun Kelly‘s guitarist, Sophie Lloyd, has attracted a social media firestorm after fans claimed that she had played a role in his alleged split from fiancee Megan Fox.
Lloyd, a 27-year-old British metal musician, has grown close with Mgk during his Mainstream Sellout tour last year.
“Sophie Lloyd is a professional, accomplished musician who has been needlessly dragged into the media based off meritless accusations made by social media,” said her management team in a statement. “Any suggestion that she has ever acted in an unprofessional manner or stepped out of her relationship are untrue. It’s disrespectful to her as a female artist and poor journalism and social commentary to be reporting anything else.”
Before joining Mgk, she’s was already an accomplished musician for many years, crafting her work since she was 10. The guitar has been her escape from reality since she was a child.

In August 2020, the world of cinema lost one of its shining stars: Chadwick Boseman. Best known for his ground-breaking performance as King T’Challa in the Marvel movie Black Panther, Boseman created a legacy for himself that future actors will find difficult to rival. As a stage and screen performer, he was simply sublime, and he was an even better human being. To many people, he was considered a deity – a god-like figure who provided a whole community with a hero to look up to.
Chadwick Boseman was taken from this earth far, far too early. If you wish to honor him in the best way possible, you should check out his extensive array of amazing films.
Here are four Boseman movies that you should watch right away:

The late Chadwick Boseman made just 15 films before his shocking, devastating death last week from colon cancer. But many of those 15 movies had already left an undeniable and in some cases massive impact on cinema, even before becoming the permanent legacy of an incredible actor taken from us far too soon.
Not only did his portrayal of King T’Challa in Marvel’s Black Panther and three other Marvel Cinematic Universe entries change film history itself, but he brought some of the most important figures in both Black and American culture to the screen. Jackie Robinson and Thurgood Marshall were American heroes of gigantic stature, and Boseman managed to introduce them to new generations of viewers through his sensitive, complex portrayals.

Actor Chadwick Boseman, who gained international recognition in Marvel's Black Panther, has died, according to multiple news reports and confirmed by his official social media account. He was 43. Boseman began appearing in U.S. television shows in 2003 and made his big-screen debut in a supporting role in The Express (2008). He broke out big in the U.S. through his portrayals of Black icons, first as baseball legend Jackie Robinson in 42 (2013) and then as 'the hardest working man in show business,' James Brown, in Get on Up (2014). An appearance in Alex Proyas' Gods of Egypt (2016) didn't hurt, but it was his first appearance as T'Challa, aka Black Panther, in Captain America: Civil War (2016) that electrified audiences worldwide. The Walking Dead fans are still waiting for the final episode of season 10 to air following coronavirus disruption, but at least they’re using their time productively. Many of them appear to have been binging old seasons of the zombie show and picking out glaring factual inaccuracies that slipped under the radar the first time around. The latest plot hole to come to light dates back to season 5 and concerns fan-favorite character Abraham Ford, who was, of course, brutally killed by Negan at the end of the following season.
However, as reported by The Express, some viewers have pointed out that the former army sergeant shouldn’t have even been alive to bear the brunt of the villain’s baseball bat by that point. In the fifth episode of season 5, titled “Self Help,” Abraham sets off on a mission to Washington D.C. with Eugene, Rosita and other survivors in...

Though No Time to Die has been postponed to November in light of the Coronavirus pandemic, there is still a hushed excitement surrounding what will surely be Daniel Craig’s fifth and final time as 007.

But with True Detective‘s Cary Joji Fukunaga behind the lens for Bond 25, fans are quietly optimistic that Craig’s last hurrah will be one to remember.
This, of course, begs the question: who will be the one to pick up the mantle (and license to kill) in Craig’s absence? Well, according to Bond expert and author Robbie Sims (h/t The Express), it’s unlikely to be Idris Elba. In fact, Sims even goes so far as to suggest that, while Elba...

The release of the first trailer for Star Wars: Episode IX is sure to generate a lot of headlines. Plus, you can be sure that many people will be scrutinizing every frame of the resurrected Carrie Fisher. Beyond all that, though, it’s also the finale of the trilogy and the final chapter in the nine-film Skywalker saga. With all that to accomplish, it would be very nice to see a preview or at minimum learn the film’s official title sometime soon.

Every cinematic villain needs a dark and seedy lair in which they can mull over their evil master plan – and Darth Vader is no different.
The notorious Star Wars legend typically spends his days and nights ruminating within the blackened, obsidian walls of his castle on Mustafar, a far-flung molten planet replete with a waterfall made up of lava.
Writer Charles Soule and illustrator Giuseppe Camuncoli have been delving deep into the dark history of Mustafar as part of their ongoing Darth Vader comic series, and the latest issue hints at Vader’s darkest secret.
But first, here’s the official synopsis, courtesy of The Express:
Vader has requested that his master grant him a planet to do with what he will — and he has chosen Mustafar, a world ripe with dark side energies…and the site of his greatest defeat. Palpatine has charged Chief Imperial Architect Alva Brenne...

One of the best bits of The Last Jedi was when Rey finally found out who her parents were. It was a question that had occupied the minds of Star Wars fans ever since The Force Awakens, with most assuming she’d turn out to be the secret heir to one of the great Jedi dynasties (most likely a Skywalker of some kind).
So, it was quite the delicious anticlimax when Kylo Ren casually revealed that they were “filthy junk traders who sold you on for drinking money. They’re dead. Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is promoting his latest tentpole “Rampage,” and he isn’t shying away from speaking about his personal battle with depression. The actor shared a message on Twitter on April 2 that read: “We all go through the sludge/shit and depression never discriminates. Took me a long time to realize it but the key is to not be afraid to open up. Especially us dudes have a tendency to keep it in. You’re not alone.”
Johnson’s message linked to a story from The Express in which he explained how his own depression battle started after seeing his mother attempt suicide when he was only 15 years old. The actor thanked fans for the messages of encouragement in response to the article.
“She got out of the car on the Interstate 65 in Nashville and walked into oncoming traffic,” Johnson said. “Big rigs and cars were swerving out the way.

Actor Nelsan Ellis, best known for playing flamboyantly gay short-order cook/drug dealer/spirit medium Lafayette Reynolds on seven seasons of HBO’s True Blood, has died. According to Variety, Reynolds, who was 39, died of complications from heart failure.
Born in Chicago, and Julliard-trained, Ellis first broke into TV with a role on Fox’s short-lived crime drama The Inside, playing the tech guy for the show’s Rachel Nichols-led team of crimesolvers. After the series folded, Ellis made a turn into film, giving supporting roles in the Ernie Davis biopic The Express and the Jamie Foxx/Robert Downey Jr. vehicle The Soloist, before scoring a key role in Alan Ball’s campy vampire soap in 2008.

FX's You're the Worst is currently one of the hottest sitcoms on TV (not to mention one of my personal favorites!). I got a chance to chat with the show's composer Adam Blau about his music writing process, some of his other projects and more. What can you tell us about your percussion expertise? How have you used that tool when scoring or arranging for films? I’ve had the chance to work on several films as a percussion arranger in a variety of styles. On scores like Mark Isham’s for The Express or Chris Beck’s for We Are Marshall, the composers wanted to use a drumline style incorporated throughout the score to evoke a collegiate/sports/marching band feel. I was brought in for those films as well as...

Just four movies into his career, Chadwick Boseman has already played a football legend (Floyd "The Franchise" Little in "The Express") and a baseball icon (Jackie Robinson in "42"). Now, he's back in the game playing a fictional outside linebacker named Vontae Mack who hopes to be the Cleveland Browns' first draft pick in Ivan Reitman's "Draft Day." That puts him on the receiving end of some highly charged conversations with Kevin Costner as Browns general manager Sonny Weaver -- although all their scenes but one are over the phone.
So Boseman's played two sports greats while acting opposite the likes of Costner and, in "42," Harrison Ford -- where do you go from there? How about playing James Brown in the upcoming "Get on Up" or the Egyptian god of wisdom, Thoth, in 2016's "Gods of Egypt"? If you need a legend -- a real one or otherwise -- it...

Not every great actor wins an Academy Award. (Rest in peace, Peter O’Toole.*) In fact, simply getting nominated for an Oscar or two might be the truer measure of excellence. There have been plenty of actors with as many Oscar statues as Paul Newman — one! — but few can hold a candle to his nine nominations, which represent a lifetime of brilliance.
But before an actor can pile up multiple nominations like Newman or O’Toole or Al Pacino, he or she needs that first nod. Sounds simple enough. Last year, four actors heard their name called for the first time,...

At this stage we know very little about the film's story, but the script is being written by Jones along with Charles Leavitt, whose previous credits include the football drama The Express and the Oscar-nominated Blood Diamond. Bringing the character of ex-police officer Phil Broker to life on the big screen, action/thriller Homefront boasts a script penned by the action legend himself, Sylvester Stallone, and will be hitting cinemas in just over two months.
Jason Statham is front and centre as Broker from Chuck Logan’s series of novels, and now the first trailer has launched over on Yahoo Movies.
A widowed ex-dea agent retires to a small town for the sake of his 10-year-old daughter. The only problem is he picked the wrong town.

Gary Fleder (Runaway Jury, Kiss the Girls) is at the helm for his first feature since 2008’s The Express, with Stallone adapting Logan’s original novel of the same name.

Homefront was adapted for the screen by Sylvester Stallone from Chuck Logan's book and focuses on a widowed ex-dea agent (Jason Statham) who retires to a small town for the sake of his 10-year-old daughter. He didn't choose the town well as a druglord (James Franco) threatens the peaceful community. Winona Ryder, Kate Bosworth and Frank Grillo co-star. Today the first trailer, poster and a handful of pictures from the movie directed by Gary Fleder (The Express) have arrived ahead of the film's upcoming November 27 release. Yes, it's another R-rated Statham actioner and after watching about 60 seconds of the trailer it looks like some sort of Straw Dogs style approach to a common "undercover cop in a small town" kind of film. Could be good, I have my doubts, but we'll see. Check out the trailer and poster below and I've included the pictures on Page Two.

James Franco has done many, many things in his career as an artist/writer/actor/director, but he's yet to cross action movie villain off his list. Well, until now. Finally, the definitive answer who is tougher—Franco or Jason Statham—will be answered in "Homefront," which boasts Sylvester Stallone as both writer and producer. You've been warned. Directed by Gary Fleder ("Runaway Jury," "The Express"), who clearly loves blue filters, the movie is a lesson to respect your neighbours, because they might be meth cooking white trash hell bent on ruining your life after they break into your house and discover you're an undercover cop. Franco seems to be having fun as the almost-mustache-twirling villain, while Statham just goes around punching and kicking people, because that's what he does. And then we just sorta zoned out until we started wondering where Winona Ryder and Frank Grillo are. Also featuring Kate Bosworth,...

Trailer for Homefront. Written by Sylvester Stallone. It's not often you get to see such a happy James Franco as the villain, but here we go. The new trailer for Homefront is much better than I expected it to be, and the film directed by Gary Fleder, looks to deliver action, and thrills galore, mixed in with some pretty solid acting. Fleder's got quite a credit list on him, in both film and television, although mostly TV. Those include Imposter, Don't Say a Word, Kiss the Girls, the awesome Things to Do in Denver When You're Dead, The Express and very effective Runaway Jury, among others. You could take many approaches to telling the story of Jackie Robinson, the first African American to play in Major League Baseball. With 42, Warner Bros. and writer/director Brian Helgeland (A Knight's Tale) went for earnest over something that would have likely had critics chanting "Oscar bait!" This doesn't make the film any less appealing or diminish its overall quality, it simply gives it what you'd typically expect from a made-for-tv movie, but the execution and performances rise above such comparisons making it a well worthwhile watch and one that caused a lump to form in my throat for most of its duration. From the moment I first saw a glimpse of what 42 had to offer I knew there was very little this film could do to get it "wrong". The story is too good and baseball translates to the big screen better than any sport there is, offering so many moments of humanity,...

But the deal also put both Robinson and Rickey in the firing line of the public, the press and other players. Facing blatant racism from every side, even his own team, Robinson was forced to demonstrate tremendous courage and restraint by not reacting in kind,...

Duncan Jones is awesome for many reasons. First off, Moon is an excellent film. If you haven’t seen it, do so now. Secondly, well, he’s David Bowie’s son. With Moon and Source Code under his belt, Jones is now taking on a new world, never-before-seen on the big screen: Blizzard Entertainment's World of Warcraft.
Legendary Pictures is making Warcraft; it's a project that has been in the works since 2006. In 2009 Sam Raimi was briefly attached but dropped out to make Oz the Great and Powerful. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the project boasts a budget of $100 million. It’s a much larger film in terms of financing and scale than Jones has previously tackled.
There isn’t a whole lot of information on script penned by Charles Leavitt who wrote, among other highly-popular films, Blood Diamond and The Express. One can only assume it’s going to be epic.

The legend of Jackie Robinson isn't just one of the most compelling stories of the 20th century, it's one of the most important. At a time when the United States was viciously segregated, Robinson became the first ever black man to play in Major League Baseball, and not only did it change the sport forever it changed the entire country. Baseball films have always been dominant among sports flicks, and in 2011 we got to see one of the best ever in Moneyball. Hoping to follow the success of that great film is 42, which deals with possibly the greatest story in the history of sports, the story of the man who broke the color barrier, Jackie Robinson. Today, the first full-length trailer for the film hit the internet.
Chadwick Boseman is still a relative newcomer, but if this trailer is any indication, he’ll be remembered as Robinson for a long time to come. We get to see a wide range of emotions from Boseman as Robinson attempts to deal with the majority of fans and other players who don’t want him on the field. Harrison Ford looks excellent as general manager Branch Rickey, and the trailer includes Rickey’s iconic quote, “I want a player who’s got the guts not to fight back.
