In a long-overdue tribute, the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles just got an awesome Marvel redesign, celebrating their connection to the Daredevil franchise. Debuting in 1983, the Tmnt were originally an outright parody of Marvel's Man Without Fear. Now, they finally look the part.
In a post recently shared to Reddit, creator Sweating the Small Stuff revealed custom action figures where each of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is wearing a different version of Daredevil's comic costume. Leonardo wears Daredevil's iconic red costume, Raphael wears his stripped-down Man Without Fear outfit, Michelangelo wears his original yellow costume, and Donatello sports his controversial armored costume from the '90s.

Breaking Bear has just been announced, and the animated show is set to feature a standout voice cast that includes Brendan Fraser and Sarah Michelle Gellar. Fraser will be best known to many for leading the cast of The Mummy (1999) and its two sequels, but he has also appeared in a host of other film projects, recently experiencing a major acting comeback with his Oscar-winning performance in The Whale (2022). Gellar, on the other hand, rose to fame around the same time with Buffy the Vampire Slayer, and recently appeared in Dexter: Original Sin.
Per Deadline, Fraser, Gellar, Annie Murphy, Elizabeth Hurley, and Josh Gad have been cast to lead Breaking Bear, a new adult animated series from Tubi. The series, which is created by Julien Nitzberg, is said to parody the tropes of mobster movies, with the report stating that the show will be akin to a comedic combination of Yogi Bear and The Sopranos.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have been skateboarding through pop culture for the last four decades. Thanks to the original darker comics of the mid 1980s and the family-friendly animated series that would follow, you would be hard-pressed to find anyone who didn't at least recognize who these Heroes in a Half-Shell were. These superheroes have been featured in an endless sea of merchandise like Funko Pops and action figures too. Part of their enduring relevance is that they always seem to be reinvented every few years to help get a new generation of fans invested in the Turtles. Now Super7 has introduced new figures centered around one of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles' most beloved shows.
Based on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2003, Super7 has unveiled their latest wave of Ultimates! figures. This includes Casey Jones, Shredder, Master Splinter, and a Foot Ninja. All the figures have double-jointed elbows...

"One of my first calls was to Peter Chernin, who went on to run Fox for a long time. But Peter goes, 'Are you guys out of your minds?'" That's producer Kim Dawson recalling to The Hollywood Reporter in 2015 how things went in the early going when they were trying to secure funding for "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" in the late '80s. "Howard the Duck was just released. Nobody felt like a comic book could be converted into a live-action character."
Indeed, this was a very different time for comic book movies in Hollywood. Richard Donner's "Superman" had come and gone. That was viewed as more of a one-off. There was no reason to believe a movie about walking,...

Today, Nintendo held a Nintendo Direct event where the new “Marvel Cosmic Invasion” game was announced. The game will be done in the retro brawler style by the developer of “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Shredder’s Revenge.”
When it releases later this year (around the holidays), it will be available on PC, Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 4 and 5, along with Xbox.
My husband is going to love this. He likes the Tmnt game and this type of retro-style game.
Here is the “Marvel Cosmic Invasion” trailer.
This is the write-up for the game.
“Opening with spectacular hand-drawn animation reflecting the game’s visual homage to colorful ’90s era Marvel comic books, Dotemu revealed the first set of playable characters from the roster: Captain America, Wolverine, Spider-Man, Storm, Phyla-Vell, Venom, and Nova. The trailer’s sneak peek at gameplay finds these legends uniting to throw down against menacing enemies in classically inspired side-scrolling brawls.

If you didn’t read the Tmnt: The Last Ronin miniseries, can you even call yourself a fan of comics? It's The Dark Knight Returns of the Ninja Turtles—the proverbial last chapter in the story. Of course, it's set in the future, so do not fear that the Heroes in a Half Shell will be calling it a day anytime soon. Nonetheless, it's a sprawling, heart-filled epic that deserves the film treatment—either in full animation or as a live-action-animated hybrid. Thankfully, in 2024 Paramount Pictures confirmed that they are in the process of developing an R-rated live-action adaptation of Tmnt: The...

Neople’s Dungeon and Fighter (or Dungeon Fighter Online, as it’s known in the US) series isn’t exactly a household name; but the Korean Mmo brawler has been running for 20 years and is one of the highest-grossing media franchises ever made (we’re talking more than Looney Tunes, Tmnt, and The Avengers). While not making its way to the States until 2010 (before shutting down three years later, then re-launching again in 2015), the original Dungeon and Fighter is an international phenomenon that’s still going strong today. With Daredevil: Born Again making waves on Disney+, now is the perfect time to revisit some of the Man Without Fear's greatest comic book stories. But if you've already read the classics, then it may be time to turn your attention to another classic comic book that was initially inspired by the Marvel hero. While longtime fans may already be aware of this connection, many don't realize that the original Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comics by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird were based in part on Daredevil. Yes, these two pop culture icons are intimately connected, and it all happened in the very first issue of Tmnt.

Chris Evans is perhaps best known for bringing two iconic Marvel superheroes to life: Steve Rogers, aka Captain America, and Johnny Storm, better known as the first-slinging Human Torch. Outside of the House of Ideas, Evans' had the chance to play other comic book characters, including Casey Jones in Tmnt, wise-cracking hacker Jensen in The Losers, and a part in Bong Joon Ho's adaptation of the graphic novel Snowpiercer. But two years before he picked up Captain America's shield, Evans would star in Push—a film that wasn't based on any comic books but strived to emulate them. And what makes Evans' performance stand out is how very far from 'super' his character is.

Alan Ritchson is quickly ascending Hollywood's A-list right now, which is interesting considering that the muscle-bound man behind Prime Video's "Reacher" is 42. Despite working relatively steadily over the last 15 years, Ritchson hasn't had anything work out terribly well until recently. Of all those experiences that didn't go as planned, Ritchson seemingly hated nothing quite the way he hated working on 2014's "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" and its sequel, 2016's "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows."
Based on Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird's comics, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" has proven to be a shockingly enduring franchise. It's easy to see why being a part of that might be appealing, but Ritchson, who played Raphael in the films, described it as "the worst production experience I've ever had" in a 2019 interview with Collider. The actor did not hold back from there.

Even if you're not a big fan of the heroes in a half-shell, odds are, you're at least vaguely familiar with the "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles." Though the superheroes had relatively humble origins in a black and white comic book published in 1984, it wasn't long before Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello, and Michelangelo, along with their rat father figure Master Splinter, became pop culture icons.
Co-created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, the Ninja Turtles gained true fame beginning with their legendary '80s animated series, before the 1990 live-action "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles" movie took things to new heights. Yet, back when it was still primarily the comics driving the characters forward, Eastman and Laird crafted a story that would eventually go on to become one of the most beloved stories in the history of this franchise, regardless of the medium. Jackie Chan's best movies from the past 15 years demonstrate a surprising trend that proves he is so much more than a (legendary) martial arts actor. Most prominently known for his crazy martial arts stunts, Jackie Chan has featured in over 150 domestic and international movies in his 60-year career, breaking into Hollywood with titles such as Rush Hour and Rumble in the Bronx. However, Jackie Chan's recent movies show a different side of the famous actor and stuntman, as he has made a significant move into animation, starring as a voice actor in numerous roles.
From Mulan to the Kung Fu Panda movies, Chan has had a successful run in the animated movie medium, partly due to his popularity, yet mostly due to his incredible wit. Chan excels in action-comedy roles, having been an actor and stunt performer in the genre for the majority of his career, and this translates to his animated films.

Chris Evans has become one of Hollywood's most recognizable faces, thanks to his charismatic performances and a career that spans action blockbusters and compelling genre films. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise has continued to adapt to new territory despite its struggle with continuity over the years — but this only serves to highlight what went wrong with Michael Bay's movies. Adapted from popular comic books, these heroes, named after Renaissance artists, have inspired numerous films and TV adaptations of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. Bay served as producer on the 2014 reboot, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, though he did not direct either of them.

Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles debuted on Paramount+ just five months ago, but Screen Rant reports that a licensing agreement has made the show already available to watch on Netflix as of Jan. 1, 2025. The show is set in the universe of 2023's Mutant Mayhem film and was made to be a bridge between the film and its planned sequel, which is set to feature Shredder as the main antagonist. The series focuses on the Turtles living their lives as teenagers and heroes in New York City two months after the events of the film. It takes a lot of work to keep a franchise alive for decades, and nobody knows this better than the co-creator of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Kevin Eastman. For 40 years, Eastman has shepherded the IP that he and co-writer Peter Laird launched back in 1984, although there’s been ups and downs. Under their company, Mirage Studios, the duo famously self-published Tmnt as an independent comic after being rejected by big names like Marvel and DC, and helped kickstart a movement of grassroots, creator-led books that would become big in the Nineties.

Osamu Tezuka reshaped Japanese pop culture with his manga "Astro Boy." In a future world, Japanese science minister Dr. Tenma loses his son Tobio in a car accident. He recreates Tobio as an android, Astro (known as Atom in the original Japanese). The manga is a futuristic reimagining of "Pinocchio" that becomes a superhero story.
You can trace Japan's love affair with robots to "Astro Boy" — modern mecha and shonen manga/anime wouldn't exist without it. Despite being foundational in Japan, Astro Boy isn't much of an icon in the United States. One attempt to import him, a 2009 CGI animated "Astro Boy" picture from Imagi Animation Studios, failed and left Imagi underwater.
Imagi was founded in Hong Kong in 2000, first producing the 2002 CGI cartoon series "Zentrix." In 2007, they secured a three-picture distribution deal with Warner Bros — the first fruit of that deal was the 2007 animated "Tmnt" film. "Tmnt" was a success,...

Warning: Spoilers for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #4The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are officially reunited, but the new version of Donatello might be surprising for fans of the classic cartoon. The lovable nerd has undergone a startling transformation in the comics, one that will leave him unrecognizable to long-time fans.
Coming from the creative team of Jason Aaron, Chris Burnham, Brian Reber and Shawn Lee, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #4 focuses entirely on Donatello. Still recovering from his recent travels through time, Donnie has become a scrawny warrior in a tattered cloak, accentuating his artificial shell.
Just barely holding on to his sanity, Donatello winds up being taken prisoner by an underground fighting ring, where humans pay for the opportunity to fight mutants. Donnie keeps volunteering himself to spare the other captive mutants, showing that he’s still every bit the formidable warrior he always was.

Earlier this year, we got word that Paramount Pictures was in the process of developing an R-rated live-action adaptation of the acclaimed Idw Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: The Last Ronin comic series, and the project may now have a director attached.
According to scooper Mttsh, Aquaman director James Wan is being eyed to helm the movie.
In addition to both Aquaman movies, Wan is known for directing a number of horror films such as The Conjuring, Saw, Insidious and Malignant.
Tyler Burton Smith, who co-wrote the recent dystopian action movie Boy Kills World and 2019 Child’s Play reboot, is penning the script. Former DC Film head Walter Hamada is producing through his 18hz production company as part of his multi-year deal with the studio.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are famously bright, colorful, and kid-friendly. The franchise has become a Nickelodeon property, after all, so it makes sense that the television series and animated films are geared towards a family audience. However, the ‘kid-friendly’ lens that is oftentimes placed over the Tmnt franchise doesn’t give fans a full scope of what the series is as a whole. In fact, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles can be insanely dark.
When the series was created by Kevin Eastman and Peter Laird, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles had nothing to do with toys, cartoons, or Nickelodeon. In fact, it was a gritty, black and white indie comic geared towards a more mature audience, and it didn’t hold back on the hyper-violence. While Tmnt has certainly changed over the years from its bloody origins, there is a corner of the franchise that has stayed true to the darker...

As a longtime friend of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Casey Jones has fought countless battles against the Foot Clan. However, his allegiance has suddenly shifted, and he's joined the ranks of Shredder's former army in a staggering twist. One of the ninja turtles' closest accomplices is switching sides, and Casey Jones' role in Tmnt lore will never be the same.
In the "Casey Jones: Agent of the Foot Clan" story from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Nation #1 - written by Erik Burnham with art by Mateus Santolouco, Marco Lesko, and Rus Wooton - Casey debuts an all-new outfit as he forsakes his solo vigilante roots and fights on behalf of the Foot Clan. Warning: Spoilers for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #4!I am certain that Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is ready to undo the most controversial moment of the franchise. Anyone only familiar with the cartoons and movies probably thinks I sound dramatic, but those who have seen just how unbelievably dark the Tmnt comics can get know I'm talking about the death of Splinter. For many fans, it was genuinely blasphemous to kill Splinter.
However, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles #4 by Jason Aaron, Chris Burnham, Brian Reber, and Shawn Lee gives me the impression that Splinter's inevitable return has been foreshadowed. Mind you, the foreshadowing comes through the ramblings of a madman named Donatello, whose badass rebrand has driven him crazy.
As easy as it would be to dismiss both Donatello and his ramblings in this issue, I think there is at least a method to the madness - if not from Donatello, then from the story itself.

Tmnt Reveals the Human Forms of Bebop and Rocksteady, Answering a Question Fans Have Asked for Years

Warning: Contains Spoilers for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Nation #2! Bebop and Rocksteady are two of the most recognizable characters in Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles history. Fans knew Bebop and Rocksteady were once humans, but they never got the chance to see them that way in this continuity - at least, until now.

The Transformers movies put Michael Bay's ability to create compelling live-action adaptations on full display, but they also accidentally ruined another franchise from the 90s. When it comes to critical ratings, the Transformers live-action movies come nowhere close to being as good as many other adaptations. However, when the movies' commercial reception is considered, they perfectly highlight that Michael Bay knows how to deliver blockbusters that please the masses.
Even beyond the Transformers movies, Michael Bay has used his iconic and bombastic filmmaking style to create visually stunning films that put spectacle before storytelling. Not all Michael Bay movies have been hits, but the director seems to be right up his alley when he gets to helm action flicks. Unfortunately, Michael Bay's success with the Transformers movies seemingly came with a cost: it accidentally led to the downfall of another franchise from the 1990s.

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are skilled fighters with a penchant for advanced martial arts, as taught by Master Splinter. However, there's one thing the Heroes in a Half-Shell love more than fighting, and that's pizza. The '90s cartoon that propelled the ninja turtles to mainstream stardom featured the first instances of the brothers chowing down on pizza, and since then, the delicacy has become a staple of Tmnt lore.
Of course, the ninja turtles don't limit themselves to typical pizza toppings like pepperoni. They prefer to spice things up with dessert pizzas, breakfast pizzas, and confounding combinations of ingredients that only they could come up with. Some actually seem worth trying, whereas others are utterly revolting. These are 5 of the most delicious - and 5 of the gnarliest - pizza orders that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles have made in the comics.

When someone hears the words "ninja" and "turtles," what usually springs to mind is the silly, comical team of reptilian brothers known worldwide as the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. These brothers -- Leonardo, Donatello, Raphael, and Michelangelo -- came to the minds of creators Peter Laird and Kevin Eastman in 1983. Drawing inspiration from ninja characters they had seen in Frank Miller comics such as Daredevil and Ronin, Laird and Eastman sketched various images of ninja turtles. Soon after the Tmnt comics came out, they became a huge success.
With the success of the comic came the original animated Saturday morning cartoon in 1987, which gave voices to the characters. Likewise, the success of this TV series led to the first live-action movie, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, in 1990, a box office smash hit. The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles live-action movies have plenty of limitations, but still manage to entertain with some exciting fight scenes. Across the many different Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series and movies that have been created over the years, the two live-action movie series are rated relatively low. That being said, the in-person limitations of the films have still managed to come up with some brilliant battles featuring the turtles, their allies, and some bizarre and varied villains.

The best Chris Evans movies and TV shows have almost been overshadowed by his work in comic book films. Evans' career has mostly been defined by his role as Steve Rogers, as he took on the character of Captain America for the Marvel Cinematic Universe in 2011 and carried that role until his final appearance in Avengers: Endgame in 2019, where he passed on the mantle to another hero in the MCU, Anthony Mackies Sam Wilson. Evans has said he plans to slow down his acting, but has not done so yet.
While most people know him from the flagship MCU role, he has a much wider and more diverse filmography than some fans might believe. He has played another superhero in the past as The Human Torch in the Fox Marvel movies, as well as in adaptations of comic books, Tmnt, Scott Pilgrim vs. the World, and Snowpiercer. He has also...

One of the best actors to rise to fame because of the Marvel Cinematic Universe is Chris Evans, the man who brought legendary comic book icon Captain America to the big screen. Many of Chris Evans' best roles have nothing to do with the Marvel Cinematic Universe. They feature Evans playing a diverse set of characters that spread far beyond the pages of Marvel Comics. Over the last 20 years, Chris Evans' genre-spanning work has captivated audiences around the world.
